We only have 1 AP plugged in so far and it does recieve an IP address from DHCP.

I installed the WLC and AP in a cisco poe switch, wlc and ap are in the same subnet and can ping ap from WLC, but the AP cannot join the wlc. i have this error message

View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is a new setup and has not worked yet. I have multiple 3602 APs and one 2504 Controller. I thought initially I could plug-in an AP into one of two POE Ports on the 2504. During debug mode I see that it has low power, was suprised that the 2504 switch can't fully power the AP? Is this correct?Anyways I have another POE switch that I am using with ample power. The configuration for my wireless is that it will be completely segmented off of my internal network as this is for guest access. So DNS servers are external so I cannot create host entries for the AP to discover the controller. With that being said I believe that is just one way for the discovery process to happen. I have my controller management interface and DHCP scope on the controller on the same subnet plugged into the same POE switch. The AP does seem to get a DHCP address and I can ping the controller from the AP. I cannot get any further then that. I will not join the controller and the radios get disabled. I get messages such as "discovery response from MWAR is rejected. I will post a debug log of the AP and its bootup process. This is new equipment so I would assume the firmware is somewhat up-to-date and the 3602 AP is somewhat the latest model.

I got a brand new 3602I that I want to join, from a remote site and I am getting these error messages and cannot join :

As far as I can tell, the AP seems to be loosing packets that are coming/going away from its own subnet.
AP address : 192.168.1.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
WLC address : 192.168.2.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
If I ping the AP address from a computer in the *same subnet*, I get a perfect 0% packet loss.
If I ping the AP address from a computer in ANY *other subnets*, I get about 50% packet loss.
If I ping anything else *other than this single AP*, to and from any other subnets, I get a perfect 0% packet loss.
Only packets orginating or sent to the AP from other subnets are getting lost.To me it looks like there is something wrong with the routing table of the AP, as if some packets were not properly returned ?
I have an allready configured WLC 2504 running in the network. Every LAP i add to the network joins imidiatly to the Controller. But not the AP1121G AP. It fails the Handshake everytime and the Controller shows me an failmessage at the statistics in the GUI. [code]

1. Why it's needable to upgrade the WLC from 7.0.x to 7.4.x?
2. Is there any possibility to join the AP1121G to an 2504 WLC with 7.4.x version?
3. What's the difference between the releases 7.0.x and 7.4.x
today i upgraded our WLC4402 from 7.0.98.0 to 7.0.116.0. After the upgrade (also bootloader upgrade) the Aironet 1142 AP's do not joint the controller anymore. I checked and latest versin is 7.4. Can I go to this version directly or I have to jump step by step.
Any online 2504 controller crash after upgrade to the point where even console port does not put anything out? Perfectly working 2504 running 7.0.116 ran upgrade through web GUI to 7.2. GUI showed perfect transfer, save etc... Asked for save before reboot. Select yes. Controller reboot and now it sits with following status lights:Power-greenSYS - amber blinkingALM - amber solidNothing out of console.

I have then entered the controller IP using the command: [code] The Controller is set to 'GB' (regional code -E), and has the correct time zone (though I do notice this is GMT and not BST) but when the AP connects it shows the time an hour earlier than the time on the WLC GUI.

we have WLC 4400, we have 40 APs with model no. AIR-LAP1131AG-N-K9 but we recenlty got an AP with model no. AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 which is unable to join WLC.

I was able to hard-wire connect via the router but very randomly my wifi signal would go out and I would be completely unable to connect to the router on any device. Now I am having the exact same issues with my new Linksys router.Sometimes the wifi works and others I get "Unable to connect to network" or "Unable to join network". I have not yet noticed a pattern.Here are the things I have tried:
* Replace router with new router
* Remove encryption
* Change encryption types
* Restart both cable modem & router
* Factory reset of router
* Changed Channels
* Reboot of router from http://192.168.1.1 interface than mine) are all called 2WIRE490 and 2WIRE593.
I am not able to join 1042 wireless AP with 2106 controller, even i mention that controller ip is 192.168.200.5 it try to join with controller on 192.168.200.6 ip address always. following are the error logs i can see on console.

I have problems with an AP AIR-CAP1552C-E-K9 (MAC: 2c:36:f8:73:e8:a0 )this AP cannot join to WLC 5508 software version 7.2.110.0.The AP ever gets associated to WLC.
I saw timeout messages and this error message:

Ive been using this router for about 4 months now. suddenly it wont let me connect wirelessly through itouch nor through imac. it says Unable to join the network "linksys" eventhough "linksys" is indicated to be an available WIFI network and that signal is full. Problem is still the same even after i reset the router a couple of times pass 30seconds, set the security to No Password.if i connect the router with a cable it connects seamlessly and allows me to go online.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.
I had PCs, Macs and other devices (iphone, itouch) able to connect fine to the WRT610n. I moved to an apartment and when I turned the network on all the devices could connect expect for the iphone and itouch. I have tried turning the wireless security off and MAC filtering off . I get the same "Unable to join the network" message.

I have a WLC 5508, AIR-LAP1142N APs and a SSID for students to connect to who bring their own device. I am still testing this and it has not been rolled out but I am running into some serious issues with joining the network. I am authenticating them through a RADIUS server (2008 R2). Problem: many of them cannot connect because they are lacking the certificate.
1. What is a good setup for authentication in a BYOD environment
2. If my setup is good what can I do to allow kids to use their computers on the wireless either without the certificate (which I know is unlikely) or what do I need to have them do to connect. I am hoping it does not involve hard wiring and getting the certificate from the server.
My EA4500 router seems to drop mine and my wife's iPhone wifi connection at what appears to be the edge of my router's range. When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online.
