View 8 RepliesI have four 1200 series AP. Part number of these AP's is AIR-AP1231G-A-K9. I am thinking to buy a new 2504 WLC with 5 AP licenses. Just wondering whether my AP's are compatible with WLC or not. These AP's are in close proxomity and start contending with each other if I configure the stand alone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWLC shows the next error.
AP with MAC 00:1e:13:10:40:59 (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9 ) is unknown.
I updated the AP to lightweighd firmware using upgrade tool. But upgrade tool generate the csv files empty so I had no idea about Hash key, so I resetted the APs to default values.
WLC still doesn't register them.
How Can I register the APs? The version of the WLC is 7.3.101.0

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is a new setup and has not worked yet. I have multiple 3602 APs and one 2504 Controller. I thought initially I could plug-in an AP into one of two POE Ports on the 2504. During debug mode I see that it has low power, was suprised that the 2504 switch can't fully power the AP? Is this correct?Anyways I have another POE switch that I am using with ample power. The configuration for my wireless is that it will be completely segmented off of my internal network as this is for guest access. So DNS servers are external so I cannot create host entries for the AP to discover the controller. With that being said I believe that is just one way for the discovery process to happen. I have my controller management interface and DHCP scope on the controller on the same subnet plugged into the same POE switch. The AP does seem to get a DHCP address and I can ping the controller from the AP. I cannot get any further then that. I will not join the controller and the radios get disabled. I get messages such as "discovery response from MWAR is rejected. I will post a debug log of the AP and its bootup process. This is new equipment so I would assume the firmware is somewhat up-to-date and the 3602 AP is somewhat the latest model.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a WLC 2504 with 10 licences running 7.3.2.112.0. I have 7 AP joined from different remote sites (WAN). The other APs are 3602E.
I got a brand new 3602I that I want to join, from a remote site and I am getting these error messages and cannot join :
*Dec 21 14:35:18.859: %CAPWAP-5-DHCP_OPTION_43: Controller address x.x.x.x obtained through DHCP,
As far as I can tell, the AP seems to be loosing packets that are coming/going away from its own subnet.
AP address : 192.168.1.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
WLC address : 192.168.2.1 (mask 255.255.255.0)
If I ping the AP address from a computer in the *same subnet*, I get a perfect 0% packet loss.
If I ping the AP address from a computer in ANY *other subnets*, I get about 50% packet loss.
If I ping anything else *other than this single AP*, to and from any other subnets, I get a perfect 0% packet loss.
Only packets orginating or sent to the AP from other subnets are getting lost.To me it looks like there is something wrong with the routing table of the AP, as if some packets were not properly returned ?
I have a few AIR-AP1242-E-K9 AP that I have upgraded to LWAPP, after the upgrade the AP's don't join the controller. But some AIR-AP1232AG-E-K9 on the same site joins without any issues. The controller is: AIR-CT2504-K9, SW: 7.0.220.0. [code]

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy APs 1142N don't join their WLC. APs and WLC management interface are in the same vlan (WLC can ping all the APs). It is strange because it doesn't seem like they are trying to contact the WLC. What's strange is that I have other AP 1142N which joined this WLC without any problem.

I want to join the AIR-AP1121G-E-K9 LAP to an 2504 WLC with software release 7.4.x .In the compatibility matrix i saw that it's just possible if the WLC has the software version of 7.0.x.So my questions are:
1. Why it's needable to upgrade the WLC from 7.0.x to 7.4.x?
2. Is there any possibility to join the AP1121G to an 2504 WLC with 7.4.x version?
3. What's the difference between the releases 7.0.x and 7.4.x
i have configured cisco LAP1240 in H-Reap Mode for multiple branch offices with Local switching and central authentication. one of the branch's AP does not join the controller in HQ while the others are all ok. i have firewall only in HQ, i did priming first for all APs like let them join the controller and configure controller IP in high availbility, and H-Reap config and assign SSID to map with the branch local vlan. when i faced this issue first time i brought back ap and configure a static IP address for AP than recheck them again but the problem still same. since i have only one firewall in the network and also other branches joined the controller through that firewall and no issues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to get it to work all day. When I open up Hamachi it shows the main screen with two buttons. Create a new network and Join an existing network.I've tried both but when I click create or join it doesn't do anything. Like it actually does nothing at all.Doesn't even close the window.Everything stays open and it doesn't either create or join any networks.

At work we have some older 1231 AG model access-points and a WLC with version 7.0. I was trying to convert them to lightweight and they will not join the controller without importing a .CSV file into the WLC. I cannot figure out to import that file, I cannot find any documentation on how to add the certificate with version 7.0.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have found that only Cisco 1231 WAP are exhibiting this behaviour. Their Primary WLAN controller is Cisco1 WLC but they fail to register to Primary WLC and fall back to Cisco2 WLC. After about 200 sec , they attempt to connect to Primary WLC once again and fail. The whole cycle is repeated every 250 seconds.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have some old 1231 APs in the school in which I work.I would like to create a local network (no LAN, no internet, just a point to point wifi connection) managed by the access point (in DHCP).That's because we have an apple TV connected to a projector and some ipads. My idea was to put the devices locally in the same closed network for share via AIR Mirror the ipads on the apple TV.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having little success migrating our older Aironet1231 to our new WLC 5508. The 1231 is currently registered as a LAP to a 4400 WLC and I'm in the process of moving away from this controller to the new one. I've pasted the output of the error messages I'm getting below. At this point, I'm stuck and not sure how to get around the "Failed to parse CAPWAP packet" error.
I'm getting these messages when I have:
debug pm pki enable
debug capwap errors enable
I initially got this error, but got passed it when I allowed SSC in the 5508 (Security -> AP Policies)
sshpmGetIssuerHandles: SSC is not allowed by config; bailing...
Now I'm getting these:

I have a problem where clients cannot roam between Cisco 1231g-e-k9 and recently installed cisco 1242g-e-k9 access points.. On looking at the CDP option on the 1231 and 1242 access points they are all aware of each other. However if I use the Network View option I see a different picture. All the 1231 access points can see each other but not see the 1242's. Network View on the1242 shows all the 1231's but none of the 1242's. The 1231 are running ver. 12.3(8)JEB and the 1242's are running ver. 12.4(21a)JA1.

We have a 1231 AP and a Freeradius Server. Now we are using MAc authentication. The thing is that the AP sends two parameters to the RADIUS:
User-Name = "000ff855df2e"
User-Password = "000ff855df2e"
both are the MAC of the wireless client.I want that the AP send:
User-Name = "00-0f-f8-55-df-2e"
User-Password = "mykey"
Note that the MAC is dash separated and the password is forced to the key that I want.
I can't seem to get the SSID RadiusTest to work properly.
Windows PC's show "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you into the network". Macs don't authenticate either. Radius server isn't seeing any requests at all. Radius server is working because we are authenticating other things to it.
