We have found that only Cisco 1231 WAP are exhibiting this behaviour. Their Primary WLAN controller is Cisco1 WLC but they fail to register to Primary WLC and fall back to Cisco2 WLC. After about 200 sec , they attempt to connect to Primary WLC once again and fail. The whole cycle is repeated every 250 seconds.

AP with MAC 00:1e:13:10:40:59 (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9 ) is unknown.
I updated the AP to lightweighd firmware using upgrade tool. But upgrade tool generate the csv files empty so I had no idea about Hash key, so I resetted the APs to default values.
WLC still doesn't register them.
How Can I register the APs? The version of the WLC is 7.3.101.0
Today I ran a failover test between our primary and secondary ACS systems (ran 'acs stop' on the primary) and in the process decided to promote the secondary while I had the primary down. All was fine until I brought the primary back up and tried to re-register the secondary to it. I get the following error message: I went into System Administration >Operations >Distributed System Management on each and it showed the other device as deregestered, tried to promote from there but it failed too, so I deleted them and tried to register the secondary again. After that didn't work I tried rebooting both but that didn't work either. I know the user/pass I'm using is good and I've tried using both the IP address and the hostname.

They sent us through a cisco router (model no.epc2425) and we created a WPA2-Personel secure network, with encryption type TKIP. I have connected my macbook to it, my iPhone to it, and my wifes samsung netbook (running Windows 7) but I cannot connect my laptop running vista to the internet. I've tried playing around with different network security and could connect to it on WEP but I didn't want to keep it on that and I couldn't connect the net-book. The rest of the security types and encryption types have the same response.The computer connects to the network with an excellent signal, but it is the only computer that cannot connect to the internet through this network. I never had a problem like this with this computer and have tried it on other networks.When I run windows network diagnostics it says 'Cannot communicate with Primary DNS Server (193.150.193.150)'Network diagnostics pinged the remote but did not receive a response.'
When I try to automatically get a new IP setting for network adapter it tries to repair but then says 'there still seems to be a problem with your connection'. Likewise when i click 'reset the network adapter' the repair leads back to cannot communicate with primary DNS server.I have tried a wired connection, router to computer, but as soon as I plug it in I get the message 'Windows has detected and IP address conflict' - and it once again connects to the network but not to the internet.I don't know if this makes any difference, but this is a British computer and I moved to Sweden, obviously using a Swedish ISP..i used to have this problem, you need to set the network adaptor to all automatic, your new cisco router uses uPnP so your IP conflict is probably a result of your unconnected laptop trying to connect to the same IP address as another PC on your network (eg/ 192.168.0.5 would be used by your iPhone, but your laptop has reserved that IP address for itself), to fix this, go to network and sharing center, navigate to adaptor settings on the left pane, right click the wireless card and choose properties>IPv4 properties, set everything to automatic, including all things in other tabs and click advanced and make sure DHCP is enabled on that card.Then reboot and try again.''I had a look at the wireless card (it's Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter) and on the IPv4 properties it's already on 'obtain and IP address automatically & obtain DNS server automatically' as well as 'automatic private IP address' in one of the tabs.
Have you ever found the problem that if I set two tacacs server in my N7K and the primary tacacs server fail, won't switch over to another tacacs server.

The problem is we don't want an rserver to fail and failover to secondary, then failback to primary, repeat... (flip-flopping). I want to be able to have time to get on the server and find out what may have caused the probes to fail before it fails back.

I was trying to convert them to lightweight and they will not join the controller without importing a .CSV file into the WLC. The 1231 is currently registered as a LAP to a 4400 WLC and I'm in the process of moving away from this controller to the new one. I've pasted the output of the error messages I'm getting below. At this point, I'm stuck and not sure how to get around the "Failed to parse CAPWAP packet" error.
I'm getting these messages when I have:

I initially got this error, but got passed it when I allowed SSC in the 5508 (Security -> AP Policies)

I have a problem where clients cannot roam between Cisco 1231g-e-k9 and recently installed cisco 1242g-e-k9 access points.. On looking at the CDP option on the 1231 and 1242 access points they are all aware of each other. However if I use the Network View option I see a different picture. All the 1231 access points can see each other but not see the 1242's. Network View on the1242 shows all the 1231's but none of the 1242's. The 1231 are running ver. 12.3(8)JEB and the 1242's are running ver. 12.4(21a)JA1.

We have two Cisco 2960 TT-L switches. I'd like to reduce single points of failure and have dual servers for most tasks. For example, two firewall servers and two web servers. Should one server fail the other will act as a failover.I'd like to extend the redundancy to the switches, and am thinking of connecting one web server to one switch, and one to the other. In the event a switch failed a set of servers would still run, and be able to talk to each other.I'd like to run two VLANs, one for the LAN, and one of the WAN, and connect the two VLANs on each of the switches with the associated VLAN on the other switch.

[code] logging appears: capwap can't process uncryped data..I even didn't configure capwap on CAP1602.May I know if CAP1602 doesn't support LWAPP? We have a 5508 controller that manages AP's at approximately 20 branches - each branch has their own subnet. We have a single branch (subnet) with new 2602 AP's that will not register with the controller. All communications to this subnet appear normal and there are no ACL's in place between the AP's and the controller. The AP's are able to resolve the controller IP address via DNS and begin the registration process but then timeout. We have successfully installed 2602 AP's at other branch locations and they register with no problems - this is only a problem at a single branch. I've attached some debug messages below for a single AP (this is a production environment so I parsed un-necessary info) and also included the console messages from a different AP (the console messages on the AP's are the same). There are currently 9 AP's at this location and none of them will register.

We currently have about 50 Cisco 1252 wireless access points running from a 4404 Wireless LAN controller. We need to order more APs, but of course the 1252s have been discontinued.Was assured by Cisco that the 1262 would work just fine with our WLC. I'm messing around with a trial 1262 and am running into problems.We hard-code the IP address, hostname, default gateway, and controller IP address in each of our access points. I did that with the new 1262 the same way I did with the 1252s:lwapp ap ip address lwapp ap ip default-gateway etc., etc.That didn't work. Then I tried doing the same thing using (not sure if this is the correct terminology...) the capwap commands.
The AP still doesn't show up on the WLC's GUI, though I can ping the AP from the WLC and I can ping the WLC from the AP.I also can't use a web browser to get into the access point's configuration tool. Do I understand correctly that the lightweight APs don't have the GUI?
I cannot TFTP this tar file to both 1230 and 1231 APs. Both are lightweight APs that I've wiped to the rommon mode (ap>) and I issue the command:
tar -xtract c1200/k9w7-mx.123-8.JA 10.0.0.2
And I get a error saying: "permission denied"
Notes:
The AP has defaulted to the 10.0.0.1 IP.
My laptop is set to 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 IP
My TFTP-Server is on and the root folder with the .tar file is in there.
ether_init, flash_init, tftp_init (these commands have been executed)
My firewall is disabled.
We have a 1231 AP and a Freeradius Server.Now we are using MAc authentication.The thing is that the AP sends two parameters to the RADIUS:
User-Name = "000ff855df2e"
User-Password = "000ff855df2e"
both are the MAC of the wireless client.I want that the AP send:
User-Name = "00-0f-f8-55-df-2e"
User-Password = "mykey"
Note that the MAC is dash separated and the password is forced to the key that I want.
I can't seem to get the SSID RadiusTest to work properly.
Windows PC's show "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you into the network". Macs don't authenticate either. Radius server isn't seeing any requests at all. Radius server is working because we are authenticating other things to it.
On my test 1231, IOS is 12.3(8) JEB1.
