Cisco Wireless :: Not Able To Register AP Point On 4402 WLC Running IOS
Jul 15, 2012
Not able to register AP Point < Air-Cap35021-E-K9 > on 4402 WLC running IOS (AIR-WLC4400-K9-7-0-235-0 ) Other AP already registered on the WLC are AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 & AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9.
We are deploying two 5508 WLC running 7.2 ios. Is it possible to anchor these to a 4402 running 7.0.116.0. Is there any version mismatch issues. We can find documents on the older compatibility but not on the new code.
I have 2 4402 WLC running 7.x.x.x code. I also have some 1510 Mesh- L WAPs that require an old version of code. I need 4.1.192.22M for those. Is it possible to bring up a 3rd controller running this old code with the other 2 4402's running modern code? What will break? I know that anchoring and mobility might get messed up. What are the other caveats?
We are expanding our wireless infrastructure by adding further access points AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9.We use four WLC 4402 running version 6.0.188.0 as a fail over pair. What is the maximum limit the WLC can handle ?What is the recommended limit one WLC can handle ?We can divide the load on the controllers but in case of a failover one WLC will manage all access points.
I need Some information for Connecting my New Access point ( Cisco AIRLAP 1242AG) with WLC(4402) ControllerIn our network set up we have two WLC(4402) we needs to Connect this New Accesspoint To one of our WLC,My Access point is brand New. I need to Know what all i have to do inorder to connect this AP to the controller (from Acesspoint perspective & WLC perspective),I need to Know what I need to do in AP to connect to the Controller,Do i need to Assign Static IP Address forAP or after connecting to the switch it automatically gets ip from DHCP and regsiter with controller??
I am running the e3000 as an access point.. My iphone and ipad connect to it seamlessly. After a few hours to days, they are no longer recognized by the router. Nothing I reset on the phone or ipad makes any difference. The only solution I have found is to re-boot the router. They then re-connect on their own.
need an access point configured in the user minimum because I was looking and some had up to 49 LAP connections at the same time. I have a WLC 4402 VERSION 7.0.98
How would I bridge a wireless connection with a distance of 400 feet? Would twoAP1262N-A-K9 be able to make this happen? Or is there another wireless bridge that you all can think of?I would be connecting one AP1262 of off a 3750g switch and at the far end (400 ft aproximately) another AP1262N-A-K9.
I have cisco WLC 5508 on the HQ, now I have another site in different subnet I tried to put AP on it and configure a DHCP pool with option 43 but the AP failed to register the WLC on the HQ.
I am developing CAP1602I & 2500 Controller. The CAP1602I-E-K9 can't register with the 2500 controller. [code] logging appears: capwap can't process uncryped data..I even didn't configure capwap on CAP1602.May I know if CAP1602 doesn't support LWAPP? Why LWAPP doesn't work?According to the logging, I also tried to configure the "Data Encryption" on 2500 controller ( according to 7.0.116.0 guide)
"Cisco 2500, WiSM2, WLC2—By default, these platforms do not contain DTLS. To turn on data DTLS, you must install a license. These platforms have a single image with data DTLS turned off. To use data DTLS you will need to have a license."Note If your controller does not have a data DTLS license and if the access point associated with the controller has DTLS enabled, the data path will be unencrypted. I should purchase a license? or, if I can configure the CAP1602I to don't encrypt data?
We have found that only Cisco 1231 WAP are exhibiting this behaviour. Their Primary WLAN controller is Cisco1 WLC but they fail to register to Primary WLC and fall back to Cisco2 WLC. After about 200 sec , they attempt to connect to Primary WLC once again and fail. The whole cycle is repeated every 250 seconds.
I have 2504 WLC with 1142AP. Currently i am starting the deployment. today when i was registering my first AP to WLC. WLC starts rebooting continuously..without any AP registration its stable and i can access the GUI.
We have a 5508 controller that manages AP's at approximately 20 branches - each branch has their own subnet. We have a single branch (subnet) with new 2602 AP's that will not register with the controller. All communications to this subnet appear normal and there are no ACL's in place between the AP's and the controller. The AP's are able to resolve the controller IP address via DNS and begin the registration process but then timeout. We have successfully installed 2602 AP's at other branch locations and they register with no problems - this is only a problem at a single branch. I've attached some debug messages below for a single AP (this is a production environment so I parsed un-necessary info) and also included the console messages from a different AP (the console messages on the AP's are the same). There are currently 9 AP's at this location and none of them will register.
Debug Capwap Events:
*spamApTask0: Dec 11 14:39:32.904: 44:2b:03:9a:d1:10 Discovery Request from 10.29.9.190:44306 *spamApTask0: Dec 11 14:39:32.904: 44:2b:03:9a:d1:10 Join Priority Processing status = 0, Incoming Ap's Priority 1, MaxLrads = 300, joined Aps =272
We currently have about 50 Cisco 1252 wireless access points running from a 4404 Wireless LAN controller. We need to order more APs, but of course the 1252s have been discontinued. Was assured by Cisco that the 1262 would work just fine with our WLC. I'm messing around with a trial 1262 and am running into problems. We hard-code the IP address, hostname, default gateway, and controller IP address in each of our access points. I did that with the new 1262 the same way I did with the 1252s:lwapp ap ip address lwapp ap ip default-gateway etc., etc. That didn't work. Then I tried doing the same thing using (not sure if this is the correct terminology...) the capwap commands.
The AP still doesn't show up on the WLC's GUI, though I can ping the AP from the WLC and I can ping the WLC from the AP.I also can't use a web browser to get into the access point's configuration tool. Do I understand correctly that the lightweight APs don't have the GUI?
AP with MAC 00:1e:13:10:40:59 (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9 ) is unknown.
I updated the AP to lightweighd firmware using upgrade tool. But upgrade tool generate the csv files empty so I had no idea about Hash key, so I resetted the APs to default values.
WLC still doesn't register them.
How Can I register the APs? The version of the WLC is 7.3.101.0
i buy a new e2500 from staples. but when i try to register the product. it shows me "Serial Number you entered is invalid.". i am sure i choose the right product and number to register.. so is that mean some one used it..
Just tried to register my WRT160N V2 and when I tried firstly there is no option for the version 2 model and secondly it says my serial No is incorrect when I have tried it three times and have checked it thoroughly.
I am trying to configure the Wism running on a 6500 switch.... I have configured the DHCP scope for the AP on the controller itself with the same subnet as of the management for the controller. The AP gets the IP but once it restarts it doesn't register to the controller, this is the log i get on the AP when consoled into it. [code]
I have this version Ap "c1200-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2" and a WLC 5500. When i connect the ap to the network i can ping from ap to wlc and the wlc to ap, but the proccess of lwapp messages give errors on the Ap when the Ap try to download the image from wlc and could not join the wlc. why this could be? this is the info of the wireless lan controller.

RE: Voice SIP Account Phone Number Not Accepting 2 Characters My ISP TPG VoIP SIP account phone number is my TPG username rather than an actual normal telephone number. When I enter my 2 characters TPG username 'xx' as my TPG VoIP SIP account phone number as the 'Phone Number' field in the 'Voice - SIP Account' modem router management page on the LAN IP 192.168.1.1, then I press the 'Save' button, I encounter the error message "The length of 'Phone Number' is out of range[3,32]."I believe this error is due to my TPG SIP account Phone Number’ is not within the TD-VG3631 ‘Phone Number’ character length range from 3 to 32 inclusive. My old modem can register to my TPG VoIP account successfully with my TPG username 'xx' as the VoIP SIP account phone number.
I have contacted my ISP TPG and tried to get an actual VoIP SIP phone number. However, TPG does not provide an actual VoIP SIP phone number to their customers. TPG states I should use my TPG username as my VoIP SIP account phone number. They ask me to contact TP-Link to resolve the aforementioned error. Is there a way I can enter only 2 character TPG username as my VoIP SIP account phone number in the browser management page of the modem router? i.e. workaround, request TP-Link for a new firmware fix or else?
I have 30 switched in my corporate network it’s all up and running all switches running by default configuration and connected to WS-C4506 core switch our dhcp server pooling 192.168.100.1/27 network. Now we need to configure new Vlan for finance department this department has more than 200 users. If my server distributes 192.168.200.0 range ip can vlan2 automatically assign ip 200.0 addresses to finance department. All switches running default config no ip address assigned.
I need to replace an existing ASA 5540 with a new ASA 5525X. I would like to pre-stage and configure the new box with the existing config, migrate license and export certificate files before swapping it with the old one during a change window. The new firewall will run 9.1 on deployment. Now the same 7.2(4) cannot just be copied over to 5525X running the minimum 8.6 version. There is a Web based tool available at [URL] according to Cisco documentation but the page does not load for me (Cisco intranet only tool ?). Is there another tool for automatic conversion ?

i purchased this new modem TD-VG3631 to replace my old one, Finished the internet configuration, it's ok, i can go to internet smoothly. however when i configured the voip function, i encountered a big problem, even i have entered all info which provided by Engin into your modem, it doesn't work. the status always down..Very sure it is not my account problem, because if i enter these info into my old modem , it works very well.
I have two Cisco AP 1242G and i'm trying to configurate a Point-to-Point Bridge Configuration to connect two wired LAN. Figure 1.8 [URL] I would connect two wired networks.
I tryed two configurations: Root and Non-Root AP. This way every wired PC on the Root AP can connect to the Access points, but cannot connect to the wired PC on the Non-Root AP.AP and WGB. Even this way the wired computers on one AP cannot connect to the wired PC on the WGB. This way only the wireless client can connect to the wired network. This is my network:
Root Bridge Non Root Bridge 10.0.0.1 10.0.0.2 Wired clients on the RB Wired clients on the Non RB 10.0.0.100 10.0.0.200
Is any one can configure basic Point-toPoint wireless bridge. I need to connect two simple LAN with Cisco Aironet1310 AP. I required basic configuration with basic authentication between these two devices which is on IOS "123-8.JEA3".
This is the first outside bridge I have ever attempted. These radios are 2000 feet apart, pointed at one another. The first radio has a cat 5 (with POE) to a Windstream 2Wire wireless router.
The other radio has 3 RadioLabs AP's (with POE) connected to it. I have followed the installation guide for the GS200 ( Here) to no avail. I must have missed something but don't know what.
