Does the 22xx Series FEX support static or dynamic LAGs between itself and a server?Imagine a server with dual 10G NICs, and I need to connect them to the SAME 22xx FEX....can I set up a LAG between the two 10G NIC ports and two 22xx FEX Host ports? Does it depend on how the FEX is connected to the parent 55xx?
We're in the process of upgrading our Wireless AP's from autonomus to LWAP. We're doing the upgrades remotely (we have 100's of sites to do, and it's not possible to be there to console on to each one), using a local computer to upgrade them to LWAP's with the Cisco Upgrade Tool.Having some inconsistent bugs pop up though from time to time. The most common one is that it basically buggers up the IP address after applying the recovery firmware image. It's supposed to keep the IP it had according to the IPFile.txt (for example 172.25.25.4), but it does something very weird... it keeps the last two octets (so 25.4 from the e.g) but replaces the first two octets with a 192.168 address. So the final address in this example after the UpgradeTool has done its work, is 192.168.25.4 - which is compeltely wrong.
This causes it to be unable to talk to the WLC (obviously, with bogus IP information it will struggle), and gives us big problems in that it wont ever come up unless someone can console to the AP and fix it. We can usually resolve the issue by munging about on the switch - switching the port it's connected to between access and trunk and doing some shut/noshut cycles seems to do the trick mostly.
I have WLC 2504 with 7.2.103.0 software version , & 2 different LWAP 1262n & 1231G with "c1200-rcvk9w8-mx.124-21a.JA" Image. The 1262n is joined to the to the controller and working fine but the 1231G it can't join the controller , the controller says "Join request received from an unsupported AP" !!i will attaches the logs for this AP.
I have an AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9 which had c1240-k9w8-mx.124-21a.JA loaded, I followed the link below and upgraded with Cisco’s upgrade tool to c1240-rcvk9w8-mx with no problems at all, after the upgrade I could then see the LWAP on the 4402 controller and had it working a treat. Now the problems begin, I brought it into the office where we have 5508 controllers, plug in the LWAP into our management switch and boot it up I get an IP assigned from the DHCP server and the AP goes into discovery mode but never finds the controller.I have logged the boot process but this does not give much away, our other 1100 series AP’s boot fine,
[URL]
Console Boot Log. Xmodem file system is available. flashfs[0]: 9 files, 3 directories flashfs[0]: 0 orphaned files, 0 orphaned directories flashfs[0]: Total bytes: 15998976

And that is where she sits and does nothing more, I have noticed the DNS problems but the other 1100 series LWAP’s boot up after show that same issue.
Is it possible to Change IOS of 1252 LWAP AP to Autonomous AP? I have seen some documents for changing Autonomous AP to LWAP and change back procedures.
I have a 1121 autonomous AP which I switched to the lightweight mode by copying the LWAPP ios to its flash and issuing the command boot system flash IOS_file_Name. After that I was unable to associate the AP to my wireless controller because it was continiously rebooting. Unfortunately this AP does not have a console port so I can access the debug and see what is happening. And I was not able to switch it back to the autonmous mode becaus the AP won't accept the Autonomous mode IOS anymore.
I have an environment of Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller and 1142N Access Points. I have a problem with the ratio of concentration of clients connecting to Access points in floors.
Recently I have been turning off 802.11a on the access points and I am seeing increase in client count in a few of acces points. What is the maximum client count supported by these access points and how do i ensure they are distributed evenly on access points?
I have a 3502 AP that I am attempting to set back to factory default including clearing the username and password. It is going to work off of 4400 controllers. I have read numerous documents no how to clear the config and password but so far nothing has worked. I can get it into ap: mode but not sure what to enter here. When I do a dir there doesnt seem to be any files. It will pull an IP address via the local router but cannot communicate with WLC.
I am installing a small wireless network (for the firs time). The WLAN is connected to a router/firewall and consists of a Cisco 2960-C Series 8-Port Compact Ethernet Switch, a Cisco Aironet 2500 Series Wireless LAN Controller for Lightweight Access Points and a Cisco Aironet 1140 Series g/n Lightweight Access Points (five AP if I get it to work).
My problem is that when a client connects to the access point it does not get an IP-address.
In the WLC DHCP proxy is enabled and Internal DHCP server is used.
The scope is from 192.168.104.65 - 192.168.104.99 The WLC IP is 192.168.104.60 The DHCP server is given as 192.168.104.60
When starting the system I can see the the AP have the IP 192.168.104.66 so it seems the DHCP gives out IP-addresses. I can ping the AP.
When a client connects to the APit is asked for the security key and the client can be seen in the WLC monitor section. The client never gets an IP-address; in the WLC monitor 0.0.0.0 is shown.
I am running big wireless network, with 20no of 5500 with 7.0.116.0 version. I have more than 20,000 AP's. If i add some config in primary controller or do some changes or reboot all the AP's are moving to backup controller. this doesn’t have any problem, but many AP's which moved to backup controller are losing VLAN mapping. This happens every time. Primary --> backup, backup --> primary. Both controllers have same vern...same config etc..
AP model: AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 Controler model: AIR-CT5508-K9
I have a problem with three AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 that joined the controller and the status led turns to yellow after joining the controller while other LEDs are blinking green. The APs has no coverage at all although the WCS shows that there is coverage and the 4400WLC shows that the AP interfaces are UP. (The ethernet interface and tha 802.11b,g radio interface is up).The SSID broadcast is enabled. On the switch the interface is up and there is traffic going in and out of the LAP.I tired power reset and factory reset for the APs but the problem remains the same.
I have a customer who accedentally got a AIR-LAP-1141. He needs it to be autonomous. If I convert from LWAP to Autonomous, will there be a licensing issue?
We have few sites with old 1232 ag AUTONOMOUS existing AP's , They are connected through 1 mbps link to main office .Now we are planing to upgrade with WLC 5508 and few 1140 ap . but we want to use these same 1232ag ap on some sites. So we need to upgrade it to LWAP .
1>Is it possible to upgrade this model of AP 2>Which is the ios i should download , is it avaliable in cisco site (as this ap is end of sale now ) 3>How the step to upgrade this autonomous ap
We have just installed our first CT2504.After install I have found a dramatic drop in signal strength compared to the wireless survey result obtained. All of our site surveys include real world testing using an AP, in this case a AP1041N.In doubt I retested a section using an AP1041N in the same location as one of the recently deployed LAP1041N.
In the same location a LAP1041N has between -10 and -20dbi difference in SNR compared to the test AP1041N.For example locations that tested with -60dbi using an AP1041N have little to no coverage using the LAP1041N installed. This applies irrespective of the WLC automatic control over Tx power or manually setting the LAP TX to the highest level.

I have cisco WLC 5508 on the HQ, now I have another site in different subnet I tried to put AP on it and configure a DHCP pool with option 43 but the AP failed to register the WLC on the HQ.
I am developing CAP1602I & 2500 Controller. The CAP1602I-E-K9 can't register with the 2500 controller. [code] logging appears: capwap can't process uncryped data..I even didn't configure capwap on CAP1602.May I know if CAP1602 doesn't support LWAPP? Why LWAPP doesn't work?According to the logging, I also tried to configure the "Data Encryption" on 2500 controller ( according to 7.0.116.0 guide)
"Cisco 2500, WiSM2, WLC2—By default, these platforms do not contain DTLS. To turn on data DTLS, you must install a license. These platforms have a single image with data DTLS turned off. To use data DTLS you will need to have a license."Note If your controller does not have a data DTLS license and if the access point associated with the controller has DTLS enabled, the data path will be unencrypted. I should purchase a license? or, if I can configure the CAP1602I to don't encrypt data?
Not able to register AP Point < Air-Cap35021-E-K9 > on 4402 WLC running IOS (AIR-WLC4400-K9-7-0-235-0 ) Other AP already registered on the WLC are AIR-LAP1242AG-E-K9 & AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9.
We have found that only Cisco 1231 WAP are exhibiting this behaviour. Their Primary WLAN controller is Cisco1 WLC but they fail to register to Primary WLC and fall back to Cisco2 WLC. After about 200 sec , they attempt to connect to Primary WLC once again and fail. The whole cycle is repeated every 250 seconds.
I have 2504 WLC with 1142AP. Currently i am starting the deployment. today when i was registering my first AP to WLC. WLC starts rebooting continuously..without any AP registration its stable and i can access the GUI.
We have a 5508 controller that manages AP's at approximately 20 branches - each branch has their own subnet. We have a single branch (subnet) with new 2602 AP's that will not register with the controller. All communications to this subnet appear normal and there are no ACL's in place between the AP's and the controller. The AP's are able to resolve the controller IP address via DNS and begin the registration process but then timeout. We have successfully installed 2602 AP's at other branch locations and they register with no problems - this is only a problem at a single branch. I've attached some debug messages below for a single AP (this is a production environment so I parsed un-necessary info) and also included the console messages from a different AP (the console messages on the AP's are the same). There are currently 9 AP's at this location and none of them will register.

We currently have about 50 Cisco 1252 wireless access points running from a 4404 Wireless LAN controller. We need to order more APs, but of course the 1252s have been discontinued. Was assured by Cisco that the 1262 would work just fine with our WLC. I'm messing around with a trial 1262 and am running into problems. We hard-code the IP address, hostname, default gateway, and controller IP address in each of our access points. I did that with the new 1262 the same way I did with the 1252s:lwapp ap ip address lwapp ap ip default-gateway etc., etc. That didn't work. Then I tried doing the same thing using (not sure if this is the correct terminology...) the capwap commands.
The AP still doesn't show up on the WLC's GUI, though I can ping the AP from the WLC and I can ping the WLC from the AP.I also can't use a web browser to get into the access point's configuration tool. Do I understand correctly that the lightweight APs don't have the GUI?
AP with MAC 00:1e:13:10:40:59 (AIR-AP1231G-E-K9 ) is unknown.
I updated the AP to lightweighd firmware using upgrade tool. But upgrade tool generate the csv files empty so I had no idea about Hash key, so I resetted the APs to default values.
WLC still doesn't register them.
How Can I register the APs? The version of the WLC is 7.3.101.0
i buy a new e2500 from staples. but when i try to register the product. it shows me "Serial Number you entered is invalid.". i am sure i choose the right product and number to register.. so is that mean some one used it..
Just tried to register my WRT160N V2 and when I tried firstly there is no option for the version 2 model and secondly it says my serial No is incorrect when I have tried it three times and have checked it thoroughly.
I have two Windows 7 computers and neither one will successfully upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAP. However, I go to a coworker's XP machine and run the tool without issues. On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success.
as you may notice, port f5/0/36 is showing not conencted. This is the case even if I move this LWAP to one of the other 3 ports that are working or even a port on one of the other 3 switch models in the stack. I troubleshot without cross connects, I changed port configs, I changed cables, but I still do not get a link. The LWAP does get power though and will start to boot, but then the status light on the top will just blink orange. sounds like the LWAP is broken.. BUT - if I move this LWAP to a port on a 6513, it connects to the switch and links to the WLC just fine.
I am trying to configure the Wism running on a 6500 switch.... I have configured the DHCP scope for the AP on the controller itself with the same subnet as of the management for the controller. The AP gets the IP but once it restarts it doesn't register to the controller, this is the log i get on the AP when consoled into it. [code]
I have this version Ap "c1200-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2" and a WLC 5500. When i connect the ap to the network i can ping from ap to wlc and the wlc to ap, but the proccess of lwapp messages give errors on the Ap when the Ap try to download the image from wlc and could not join the wlc. why this could be? this is the info of the wireless lan controller.
