D-Link DIR-615 :: Cannot Get Wireless Items To Connect / Says Unable To Join Network
Apr 14, 2012
I reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.
My laptop's wifi is just working fine with TP Link but I'm unable to connect internet via wifi on my iPhone 3G. My iPhone's wifi just works fine in my office. Is there any solution available?
ISP: CharterType: CableRouters: Belkin N150 & Linksys E1200Devices: Laptop, ipad, desktop w/wireless card, hardwired desktopI had random issues with the Belkin router. I was able to hard-wire connect via the router but very randomly my wifi signal would go out and I would be completely unable to connect to the router on any device. Now I am having the exact same issues with my new Linksys router.Sometimes the wifi works and others I get "Unable to connect to network" or "Unable to join network". I have not yet noticed a pattern. Here are the things I have tried:
* Replace router with new router * Remove encryption * Change encryption types * Restart both cable modem & router * Factory reset of router * Changed Channels * Reboot of router from http://192.168.1.1 interface than mine) are all called 2WIRE490 and 2WIRE593.
Ive been using this router for about 4 months now. suddenly it wont let me connect wirelessly through itouch nor through imac. it says Unable to join the network "linksys" eventhough "linksys" is indicated to be an available WIFI network and that signal is full. Problem is still the same even after i reset the router a couple of times pass 30seconds, set the security to No Password.if i connect the router with a cable it connects seamlessly and allows me to go online.
I had PCs, Macs and other devices (iphone, itouch) able to connect fine to the WRT610n. I moved to an apartment and when I turned the network on all the devices could connect expect for the iphone and itouch. I have tried turning the wireless security off and MAC filtering off . I get the same "Unable to join the network" message.
My EA4500 router seems to drop mine and my wife's iPhone wifi connection at what appears to be the edge of my router's range. When we come back in range, our iPhone's intermittently give the error "Unable to join network.". And we're stuck in that mode. When I check the Devices menu in the CCC interface, I notice the iPhone device is configured and still online. However the "x" box to delete the device is greyed out because it's online. So how do I get out of this state and have my iPhone connect
I'd like to give my DIR-655 (rev. A4, firmware 1.32) to my brother for use as a repeater, to work with the weak signal in his apartment. But I don't see any way to configure the device to join an existing wireless network. Am I wasting my time?
ive got 2 laptops on my wireless network and have just bought a pc. it dosnt seem to be finding my connection so i cannot get it onto my wireless network?
I recently purchased a DIR-815 D-Link router. I've set up my network successfully; my laptop and smart phone are easily able to connect. However my desktop is having issues. My network card detects the wireless network I have set up, however the password is always rejected. I am typing in the correct password. I can get the internet to work on my desktop if I connect the router directly by wire, but I need the wireless to work. My desktop runs Windows 7.
How do I audit a network PC to see what it has on it or delete what does not need to be there. If I do it through the Windows add or remove they re-install. In the old days I could do it in DOS and then 'Tree' to list the properties and then delete what I wanted permanently.
I am seeing old entries of phantom folders in My Network Places in Windows 7. In XP you could just delete them, but there is no selection for this in Windows 7. How to delete them?
I have an (AIR-LAP1310G-E-K9R) and I tried to join it to WLC 5508 but I'm facing an error, I get this error from the LAP 1310 console as below:

I have problems with an AP AIR-CAP1552C-E-K9 (MAC: 2c:36:f8:73:e8:a0 )this AP cannot join to WLC 5508 software version 7.2.110.0.The AP ever gets associated to WLC.
I saw timeout messages and this error message:
%CAPWAP-3-ECHO_ERR: capwap_ac_sm.c:5656 Did not receive heartbeat reply; AP: 2c:36:f8:73:e8:a0
I don´t see any connectivity issues between the AP and WLC thorugh HFC network. One time the AP join to WLC and I saw this messages in debug CAPWAP:

I have a few AIR-AP1242-E-K9 AP that I have upgraded to LWAPP, after the upgrade the AP's don't join the controller. But some AIR-AP1232AG-E-K9 on the same site joins without any issues. The controller is: AIR-CT2504-K9, SW: 7.0.220.0. [code]

I have a WLC 5508, AIR-LAP1142N APs and a SSID for students to connect to who bring their own device. I am still testing this and it has not been rolled out but I am running into some serious issues with joining the network. I am authenticating them through a RADIUS server (2008 R2). Problem: many of them cannot connect because they are lacking the certificate.
1. What is a good setup for authentication in a BYOD environment
2. If my setup is good what can I do to allow kids to use their computers on the wireless either without the certificate (which I know is unlikely) or what do I need to have them do to connect. I am hoping it does not involve hard wiring and getting the certificate from the server.
I'm having issues joining a remote PC to the corporate domain. The VPN we're using is SonicWall. Here's what the error is: Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. I'm trying to use 1142 APs with a 2504 Wireless Controller through a D-Link 48PT GBIT XSTACK SWITCH (DLI-DGS-3120-48PC/SI).At any rate, the 1142 AP joins with the wireless controller ONLY when I attach it directly to the controller. When connected directly to the controller the AP functions normally and all is well. When I attach it through the D-Link switch, the AP flashs green several times, indicating that it can't find the controller. I suspect that there's some setting on the D-Link switch that's preventing the AP from seeing the controller.

I am trying to install a HP officejet 6700 all-in-one wireless printer on my home network. I can see the MAC and static IP addresses in the ARP list but fail to connect to it via my laptop. I have disabled the Norton Internet Security smart firewall and the windows firewall and still fail to connect. I have spent 2 four hour chat sessions with HP and they tell me it is my router. They had me change the channel to 6 from 5 and 11g-only from the 11gb-mixed and it still does not connect. They also had me do a firmware upgrade but the Printer was up to date.
Today I bought a TP-Link 150 Mbps Wireless PCI Express Adapter so I can pick up the internet connection in my house from my home PC. (We use a laptop most of the time which is able to pick it up fine).I've installed the wireless adapter into the computer and installed the drivers however I receive an error message:
"The device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system. Insert of Reinsert Now."

I recently purchased a tl-wr842nd, my printer is a hp laserjet 1020 and it is in the compatible list as I seen. The problem is that I connect the printer in the usb routers port and the led do not light up, I tried putting my pendrive to see if the usb routers port wasn't working but it does since the pendrive is accepted and online and the usb led lights.I downloaded and installed the latest firmware but there's no change, I did everything like it saids in the faq 415 where it explains how to install and use printer server with no luck.
I have configured a 1552, that is wired to network, as "Bridge" then "RootAP".
After reboot, I can see a MAP trying to join the network, in the "simple" logs of the controller : "Mon May 6 17:29:43 2013 Mesh Node '04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f' failed to join controller, MAC address not in MAC filter list."
As I have done for the RAP, I enter this MAC address in the MAC Filtering area under Security tab. But this action doesn't solve the problem, I continue to see this message in the controller logs !
If I open a SSH session on the RAP, I can see this block of debug messages repeat all the time : *May 6 15:29:33.163: %MESH-6-ADJ_VIDB_LINK: Mesh neighbor 04da.d21f.4d6f VIDB Virtual-Dot11Radio0 dot1x control *May 6 15:29:33.167: %LINK-6-UPDOWN: Interface Virtual-Dot11Radio0, changed state to up *May 6 15:29:34.167: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface Virtual-Dot11Radio0, changed state to up *May 6 15:29:43.223: %MESH-6-LINK_UPDOWN: Mesh station 04da.d21f.4d6f link Down *May 6 15:29:43.423: %MESH-6-ADJ_VIDB_LINK: Mesh neighbor 04da.d21f.4d6f VIDB Virtual-Dot11Radio0 going
When I take a look into detailled debug messages of the controller I can see this : *spamReceiveTask: May 06 17:30:44.364: #LWAPP-6-RADIUS_AUTHORIZATION: spam_radius.c:242 The system could not send join reply, AP authorization failed; AP:04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f
I don't know why the system talks about dot1x or Radius Authorization, and if this is the source of my problems. On a other hand, I can see in the debug messages that there is a 2 hours lag time between controller (correct time) and RAP (incorrect, I suppose it synchronize with the controller?)

After I configure the WAN setting on TL-MR3020, my laptop unable to connect to my TL-MR3020 anymore, the message says "windows was unable to connect to TP-LINK_POCKET_3020_B5F9AD".
I've recently reinstalled a fresh windows xp operating system onto an old laptop. I've been through some trouble getting the drivers installed, but now I've finally completed that.[URL] I cannot connect to my home's WEP secured wireless network to which I have the password. After I followed the steps detailed in the link, instead of saying "detecting network type," the loading bar says "waiting for the network..." and after about 30 seconds, it disappears and nothing happens.I can connect to my router by directly connecting it with an Ethernet cord without a problem. And I know that the laptop is capable of connecting to a wireless network. I was able to connect to a nearby neighbors unsecured wifi, however it was with a very slow connection due to the distance and weak signal. It will just not connect to my own.
