My customer has 3 computer
1- Windows xp
2- Win7
3- Apple
4 new sony laptop.
Vaio would not connect using WEP 40-bit key. Logged into Airport Extreme router with Airport setup utility for Windows from Apple. Updated firmware from 5.1.1 to 5.7. Reset Encryption from WEP to WPA/WPA2 Personal.Connected Vaio on Wifi using WPA2. Removed ethernet cable and connection was good at 54MB/s.Completed Windows Update
I have set up several types of servers on my computer (ftp, game servers, web servers, etc).
I have had a problem with people connecting to any of my servers. I know for a fact I have port forwarded correctly (I have checked 12 times, and I have never had a problem port forwarding). I know it's not my firewall, the problem persists when I completely shut it down.
I had an ftp and web server working about a week ago. No one can connect to any server, be it ftp...web...etc.
I have a problem, i have a DIR-620 wireless router, i can connect to wifi my both ipad and iphone but i cannot connect my laptop, even cannot access the admin page for settings, cz it seems my laptop cannot see my my network...
I have a Airtel Internet Broadband connection and I have a lan having around 10 workstations. I have another computer which I want to use as a server through which all the internet traffic will pass. The server has two lan cards(one on motherboard and other one is usb).I have connected broadband modem to lancard1(on motherboard) and have connected the lancard2(usb) to the lan switch.Now how to proceed further, so that internet service is available on all the workstations connected to the lan switch.
For the Record: I have a Linksys E4200 Router.My computer is an ASUS Notebook (can't identify model, doesn't show on system information, but got it in the last 3 months) My friend's computer is also an ASUS notebook (model designed after a stealth fighter)First: On my computer, I get a solid 500kb/s dl speed at anytime. If anyone else is downloading, even if they are the only others to do so.. they get speeds of 150kb/s tops (on other laptops connected to the router). Just got a new(secondhand) laptop & have successfully connected it to the internet via my wireless router/modem, but can't get it onto my home network. It appears to work, says it's connected but shows no other computers & they don't show this one.The laptop is an Acer Travelmate 2428, running Win7 Professional. My 2 wirelessly networked PCs are running on WinXP & the printer is connected physically to one of those. The router/modem is an Edimax. In XP it talks about 'home networks' whereas Win7 has 'homegroups'. I've used the wizard to 'manually connect to a wireless network' which is how I networked the PCs. I've also tried all other options in the 'Network & Sharing Centre' including the troubleshooter which when 'troubleshooting network problems' only tells me my clock is not right. In the network & sharing centre under 'view your active networks it says 'home network' & next to homegroup says 'joined'.
I've searched around a lot and it seems that many people (including myself) who go through all the suggested troubleshooting still end up with a problem. I am stuck using XP in schools and keep running into this.
my desktop is picking up wirelessinternet, i have 2 avalible ethernet ports on it, is their a way i can plug an ethernet from my computer to my xbox to play online, i dont want to have a cable come from the router.

I am trying come up with a setup that allows for a computer to simultaneously be connected to the web via a secure wireless network and to provide a shared drive via an unsecured (possibly ad hoc) wireless network.Which is to say, the computer needs to be able to use the web wirelessly via the secure network, and people need to be able to share files with it wirelessly whether or not THEY can use the secure wifi.One last requirement is that I need a this to be something that I can set up in a given location with no more configuration than required to connect to the secured wifi - if the setup requires me to mess around with the configuration of the router for the secure network itself, it won't work.
Is it easy to setup a paid wifi hotspot or would I need knowledge of advanced networking? I've been searching around and I've found software that do that, I prefer doing it free.
Just yesterday my laptop could connect to the Internet. Now it would just connect to the modem (via wi-fi), and there would be no Internet connection. All other computers in my house using wi-fi work fine.Here are my results when I type in the ipconfig /all in the command prompt.

My router is not connecting my laptop to the internet. The icon at the bottom states that I am connected and have an excellent connection.checking the router, starting and restarting router but still no connection.
I have a windows 7 laptop and i have bridged my wireless with my ethernet port on it, i have directly connected my ubuntu server to my windows 7 laptop via crossover, and ubuntu says its connected, but it will not recieve internet. I can get 2 windows pc's to bridge successfully, but not a linux machine. Is there some configuration im missing or something that i missed? the goal is to get internet for my ubuntu server.
I reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.

I have two different networks on same LAN.One net has public 2xx.x.x.x IPs (some on DMZ, they are servers with their own internal firewalling) and goes through a GBeth switch to a Cisco 25xx router for accessing HDSL modem with several HDSL trunks and then Internet. That router is configured to let external IPs access only DMZ IPs, of course.The other net has 192.168.x.x IPs and goes through another GBeth switch to a DLink router to access ADSL. Mainly for download traffic at a low flat cost.I would like to have a way to let the 192.x.x.x machines access the servers on the DMZ of the 2xx.x.x.x net without going outside the physical LAN. The servers host mail services and so sending heavy attached documents needs a hi-speed LAN connection and certainly not the ADSL upload capability. Not to say about servers web contents maintenance.
I am using RealVNC, have the Viewer and Server installed on three systems on my home network. I have a laptop which I am trying to use to connect to either of my two PC's, but cannot get them connected.With that being said I did have some luck with RealVNC as I have the 5900 and other ports forwarded and was able to connect with my Android tablet and Android Phone to the my two PC's and laptop with no problems....well kind of. I did have issues with this at first till I figured out I had to use a 142.*.*.* ip address because my network ip adresses were behind a NAT IP.Now back to the connecting my laptop to my two PC's issue.I have tried using the 142.*.*.* ip address and I have tried using my network ip 192.*.*.* to no avail. I just can't seem to connect.
The whole thing about IPv6 has been out for what is probably a couple of years now. But I find it very odd how even my newest modem/router can't even support it yet. Why on earth are manufacturers such as Netgear holding back so much on making their products IPv6 compatible? The IANA has just about given out what is left of the addresses, and we still have time to adapt by working our way over to IPv6 as it can work simultaneously with IPv4. Companies have been given years to prepare.
Why can't I connect to the Internet right now using IPv6? Not only is my router holding me back, but will my ISP hold me back as well?

I set up the password through WPA-PSK, the problems come up. My laptop, HP G62-465DX and my Ipod Touch can connect by inputting the passcode but the other laptop in my family, HP G72-b60us, cannot connect to the router once the passcode is set up because the laptop claims that it is incompatible with the router when it was before. I just received a blu ray player for Xmas that has an Ethernet connection for streaming Netflix,YouTube, etc. my problem is my router is upstairs and the blu ray is downstairs. I really don't want to run an Ethernet cable from the blu ray to the router. I have a need to use two routers (Each with different ISP) on my (LAN) office network.I presently DO NOT want to go the (Two ISP's on one router, or Load Balancing router). I Just simply want two routers with two separate ISP's.I will assign the managers workstations to the faster ISP, and other Workstation to the slower connection.And it seems to work, and all resources seem to be available on the LAN, regardless of which (Gateway) Router(1 or 2) I point the workstation to.I assume because all devices are on the same LAN 192.168.0.XXX Is this a proper way to allocate and use two routers on the same LAN?
For some reason, our router donwstairs was kicking one or more of our (4pc's downstairs, one occasionally upstairs) off. My son connected another router upstairs and then created a static IP for everything. It seems when he did that, our Brother 2170 wireless printer quit working. We've tried everything to get it going again and nothing works- even Brother didn't get it rectified. Earlier today, my son finally got it working, connected directly to the router to get the static IP on the printer (I guess). But when he disconnected it (hardwired) from the router, it won't work again
