Vaio would not connect using WEP 40-bit key. Logged into Airport Extreme router with Airport setup utility for Windows from Apple. Updated firmware from 5.1.1 to 5.7. Reset Encryption from WEP to WPA/WPA2 Personal.Connected Vaio on Wifi using WPA2. Removed ethernet cable and connection was good at 54MB/s.Completed Windows Update
Just yesterday my laptop could connect to the Internet. Now it would just connect to the modem (via wi-fi), and there would be no Internet connection. All other computers in my house using wi-fi work fine.Here are my results when I type in the ipconfig /all in the command prompt.

I have a windows 7 laptop and i have bridged my wireless with my ethernet port on it, i have directly connected my ubuntu server to my windows 7 laptop via crossover, and ubuntu says its connected, but it will not recieve internet. I can get 2 windows pc's to bridge successfully, but not a linux machine. Is there some configuration im missing or something that i missed? the goal is to get internet for my ubuntu server.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two different networks on same LAN.One net has public 2xx.x.x.x IPs (some on DMZ, they are servers with their own internal firewalling) and goes through a GBeth switch to a Cisco 25xx router for accessing HDSL modem with several HDSL trunks and then Internet. That router is configured to let external IPs access only DMZ IPs, of course.The other net has 192.168.x.x IPs and goes through another GBeth switch to a DLink router to access ADSL. Mainly for download traffic at a low flat cost.I would like to have a way to let the 192.x.x.x machines access the servers on the DMZ of the 2xx.x.x.x net without going outside the physical LAN. The servers host mail services and so sending heavy attached documents needs a hi-speed LAN connection and certainly not the ADSL upload capability. Not to say about servers web contents maintenance.

I have a laptop which I am trying to use to connect to either of my two PC's, but cannot get them connected.With that being said I did have some luck with RealVNC as I have the 5900 and other ports forwarded and was able to connect with my Android tablet and Android Phone to the my two PC's and laptop with no problems....well kind of. I did have issues with this at first till I figured out I had to use a 142.*.*.* ip address because my network ip adresses were behind a NAT IP.Now back to the connecting my laptop to my two PC's issue.I have tried using the 142.*.*.* ip address and I have tried using my network ip 192.*.*.* to no avail. I just can't seem to connect.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe whole thing about IPv6 has been out for what is probably a couple of years now. But I find it very odd how even my newest modem/router can't even support it yet. Why on earth are manufacturers such as Netgear holding back so much on making their products IPv6 compatible? The IANA has just about given out what is left of the addresses, and we still have time to adapt by working our way over to IPv6 as it can work simultaneously with IPv4. Companies have been given years to prepare.
Why can't I connect to the Internet right now using IPv6? Not only is my router holding me back, but will my ISP hold me back as well?

My son connected another router upstairs and then created a static IP for everything. It seems when he did that, our Brother 2170 wireless printer quit working. We've tried everything to get it going again and nothing works- even Brother didn't get it rectified. I have had a problem with people connecting to any of my servers. I know for a fact I have port forwarded correctly (I have checked 12 times, and I have never had a problem port forwarding). I know it's not my firewall, the problem persists when I completely shut it down.
I had an ftp and web server working about a week ago. No one can connect to any server, be it ftp...web...etc.
My router is a Netgear WNR2000v2

This computer was connected but after the applesauce spill on the keyboard, and subsequent MicroCenter replacement of keyboard, we cannot get the laptop online.It is an Acer Aspire 5517 running Windows 7I have removed all profiles and created a new profile entering parameters from my laptop. The Wireless connection status shows as good but packets only being sent and not received. View 6 Replies View RelatedI had a power outage while online and when power resumed, I was no longer able to connect to the internet via my wireless router. My laptops (I have 2, work and personal) both receive the wireless signal from my router (a Linksys WRT54GC) but I get a 'DNS lookup failed' error message when trying to access the internet. My standard set up was Arris cable modem-->Linksys router-->Laptop but I've had to go cable modem-->Laptop via Ethernet in order to access the internet.
Both laptops are running WinXP Pro, SP3 and I ran 'ipconfig/all' on my work one, once when connected via Ethernet and once when I had my wireless connection enabled (but again, not connected to the internet). Results below.

I am trying to connect two Asterisk Server (with DHCP server enabled on both) on a HP Pro Curve 2626 switch. Server A has IP address 192.168.2.1 and Server B has IP address 192.168.3.1. I created a two new VLAN on switch, VLAN2 for 192.168.2.0 network and VLAN3 for 192.168.3.1 network. I put the command "ip routing" on the switch. My goal is to be able to ping ip address from PC 1(VLAN2) to PC 2(VLAN3) and vice versa... I'm not sure what I am missing... By the way, there is NO ROUTER involved on this set up. I tried to Google and it says HP ProCurve 2626 is a Layer 3 switch so IP routing should be possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem with my Linksys E1000 router. When I bought it, it worked without trouble. Setup was easy and straight forward and I was able to connect all my wireless devices (2 latops, a mobile) without any problem. Then, after two months or so, I noticed the laptops were losing internet connection (or not finding the wireless network on start up). Rebooting the router seemed to work the first couple of times to restore the wireless connections, but after a few more days, the wireless network either shows up and the devices are unable to connect to it OR the wireless network does not appear in the network list. However, the wired connection to my desktop PC via ethernet cable has no issues at all. My conclusion is that these wireless routers (E1000) have a defect in the radio card.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought yesterday a wireless modem/router and Tp-Link Adsl2+ N300 Modem Router Td-W8960n.I have 2 laptop computers at home.The first issue I have is that with one of the laptops (quite old - Acer Aspire 2420-2579 with Windows Vista Basic Service Pack 1) I can not connect (wireless) to the internet. It says local access only. However in other countries (IM in NZ) it does connect to internet. It does work when I use an Ethernet cable between my router and the laptop. The second issue is with my other laptop. A HP Pavillion DV-4 windows vista home premium service pack 2. I manage to get wireless access to the internet but every couple of minutes the connections drops and starts again by itself�. After 1-2 min approx�. it is getting pretty annoying!I don�t think it is the routher as I also have an XBOX 360 connectet to the internet usign the same device and works absolutely fine!

I have restarted his computer, the modem and the router. We have disconnected and reconnected several times to the network for the new router but nothing works, the only way he can get on the internet with this router is if plugged directly to it with an ethernet cable. We have put the old router back up but I really don't want to keep using it, it is so old and I don't remember the password for it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have got a PC at work (Windows XP Pro SP3) that is on two networks with the IPs 10.20.30.167, subnet 255.255.255.0 (internet enabled) and 10.0.0.20, subnet 255.255.255.0 (no internet). On the 10.0.0.X network there is a gateway with the IP 10.0.0.200 allowing access to another network; 192.168.60.X, subnet 255.255.255.0 (no internet). I have added the route on my work PC to access the 192.168.60.X network via this gateway and I can access all PCs on all three networks from this PC.Now, I am using LogMeIn Hamachi so that I can access the networks at work from home. The PC at work is the 'gateway' PC on the Hamachi network. When installing Hamachi it created a new network connection and bridged this connection with my 10.20.30.167 network adapter to allow access to the 10.20.30.X network from an external PC when connected using the Hamachi VPN connection. I have manually configured my Hamachi connection on my PC at home to the IP 10.20.30.169, subnet 255.255.255.0, with the default gateway set to 10.20.30.167. I can ping all computers on the 10.20.30.X network from my PC at home.
I then added a route on my PC at home for 10.0.0.X to go via 10.20.30.167 (the 'gateway' on the Hamachi network). I also enabled IP forwarding on the 'gateway' PC (my PC at work). I can not ping any PC on the 10.0.0.X network from my PC at home apart from 10.0.0.20 (the other NIC in the Hamachi gateway PC) and 10.0.0.30 (another PC on the 10.20.30.X network that is also on the 10.0.0.X network).Now, with IP forwarding enabled on the Hamachi gateway PC I would assume after adding the route on my PC at home for 10.0.0.X traffic to go via 10.20.30.167 that I would be able to ping all PCs on the 10.0.0.X network...I also tried adding a route on my home PC to send all traffic for the 192.168.60.X network via 10.20.30.167 which has a route via 10.0.0.200 to the 192.168.60.X network, but this also did not work.I then tried adding the 10.0.0.20 network adapter into the network bridge that the Hamachi connection made, also keeping both IPs (10.20.30.167 and 10.0.0.20) on this network bridge by adding them into the 'IP Settings' in the 'Advanced TCI/IP Settings'. I also added the 10.0.0.200 gateway for good measure. I still cannot ping any PC on the 10.0.0.X or 192.168.60.X networks from my PC at home.
I have also added the route to the 10.20.30.X network on a PC on the 10.0.0.X network to go via 10.0.0.20 and tried pinging a PC on the 10.20.30.X network but this also has not worked. Also setting the default gateway on a PC on the 10.0.0.X network to 10.0.0.20 does not allow this...Surely bridging the networks 10.20.30.167 and 10.0.0.20 on my work PC would allow another PC on the 10.0.0.X network to access the 10.20.30.X network after adding the route or setting 10.0.0.20 as the default gateway?
I have two computers. Computer A is connected to the internet through GSM network. Computer A also have NIC adapter which is connected to local network with IP 192.168.33.10/24.
Computer B in connected to internet with DSL connection.
On both machines I use TeamViewer to make VPN secure tunnel between this two computers. Computer A gets IP:7.200.100.2 Computer B gets IP:7.200.100.3
How can I access from computer B to specific device with IP 192.168.33.250 which is on local network of computer A?
Is it possible to route traffic from VPN to other local network, or it is some possibility to use port forwarding from VPN connection to specific IP address on the local network to specific port number?
We have a PPPoE DSL link with a dedicated IP providing by a small ISP(ISP A) in Canada. We are having trouble reaching a small group of IPs in the US to be able to access some client resources.We have eliminated all possible local issues by removing the firewall and making a direct connection to the ISP. We have also had numerous tests prove successful when we use other local ISPs.
Trace routes show that the packets get dropped a few hops from the destination on a US ISP(ISP B).The routes even appear to be very similar to the other ISPs we tested. We escalated to ISP A and they say that everything is working properly on their end and the problem is with ISP B. They claim they "have no partnership with ISP B and therefore cannot create a ticket to get it resolved". I tried calling ISP B but I get nowhere because I am not a customer of theirs.
My solution is to give ISP A the boot, but management has denied that request because of the amount of effort required to switch over. How I can escalate this? Is there anyway to go over and above the ISPs?

But the problem is the Main router INTERNET, which it has to use Static in a direction, and default in the opposite path. This is the scheme of routers and how the r.protocol have to be configured.
