I'd like to give my DIR-655 (rev. A4, firmware 1.32) to my brother for use as a repeater, to work with the weak signal in his apartment. But I don't see any way to configure the device to join an existing wireless network. Am I wasting my time?

I have an unused TD-W8151N. I also have a smart TV that requires a wired connection, with no way of getting a wire to it.
Can I configure my spare TD-W8151N as a client of the existing WiFi network and connect the TV in to the TD-W8151N with a cable?

What I want to do is, to reproduce WiFi signal (from TP-LINK modem) by repeating with D-Link Wireless Access Point.
Here is how web interface looks. There is an option for repeating:
After clicking Site Survey I see all list of available networks. When I select one of them, the D-link saves changes then reboots. After that, Windows shows me something like that on available WiFi networks list:
<Repeated network name> 2
The problem is, when I connect to this network, Windows connects directly into root source, not to my WAP (I see this with inSSIDer utility).
I have 12 wap4410n to enable wireless connection to a school building with 3 floor. I planned to configure one as a Access point. My doubt is in which AP mode i have to configure the rest as WDS Bridge or WDS Repeater other mode. In each access point i have Ethernet connection to the switch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI reset my Dlink 615 wireless router. I held down the power and reset for 30 seconds and rebooting the system with the disc. I did change the router name, but believe everything else stayed the same. My desk top is working fine being "hardwired" but nothing wireless will connect.
I did see this time it installed Network Magic which I have since uninstalled and again rebooted the computer system and still cannot get the wireless to work. It shows the network available, but my password for some reason does not take.

So downstairs i have a netgear g router, this is then hardwired to a switch, from there i have another cable running upstairs and into my d link router.I am using snow Leopard OS, and using VMWare was able to use the quick setup on the associated disc but could only reach the stage where i connect my ethernet to router before it would display an error message stating it was unable to find a router.I then tried manually setting up the router online using
192.168.0.1
but was unable to get a working connection running over the wireless and i was only able to give this page when hardwired to the d link router.
My laptop's wifi is just working fine with TP Link but I'm unable to connect internet via wifi on my iPhone 3G. My iPhone's wifi just works fine in my office. Is there any solution available?

I have comcast > surfboard > d-link dir 655 I want to add another router/access point so I can move the dir655 to my office and have my computers connected over gigbait. All my comcast stuff is setup in the living room, and I would like to setup the access point there. Something like
comcast > surfboard > ddwrt n-router (living room) > dir655 (in office) > desktop
I have a Netgear WGR614 wireless router connected to my WOW DSL modem and utilize WPA as security. wireless signal is good on first floor but drops significantly in my basement. I have a Netgear WG102 AP I would like to configure as a repeater and place in my basement to boost the WGR614 signal strength. my problem is
1. i have configured the wlc 2112 and it's ip is :172.25.1.1
2. i cant configure the air lap 1041n. when i enter the cli mode the following message comes ****continuously***:
Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use 1142 APs with a 2504 Wireless Controller through a D-Link 48PT GBIT XSTACK SWITCH (DLI-DGS-3120-48PC/SI).At any rate, the 1142 AP joins with the wireless controller ONLY when I attach it directly to the controller. When connected directly to the controller the AP functions normally and all is well. When I attach it through the D-Link switch, the AP flashs green several times, indicating that it can't find the controller. I suspect that there's some setting on the D-Link switch that's preventing the AP from seeing the controller.

I was able to hard-wire connect via the router but very randomly my wifi signal would go out and I would be completely unable to connect to the router on any device. Now I am having the exact same issues with my new Linksys router.Sometimes the wifi works and others I get "Unable to connect to network" or "Unable to join network". I have not yet noticed a pattern.Here are the things I have tried:
* Replace router with new router
* Remove encryption
* Change encryption types
* Restart both cable modem & router
* Factory reset of router
* Changed Channels
* Reboot of router from http://192.168.1.1 interface than mine) are all called 2WIRE490 and 2WIRE593.
I have configured a 1552, that is wired to network, as "Bridge" then "RootAP".
After reboot, I can see a MAP trying to join the network, in the "simple" logs of the controller :
"Mon May 6 17:29:43 2013 Mesh Node '04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f' failed to join controller, MAC address not in MAC filter list."
As I have done for the RAP, I enter this MAC address in the MAC Filtering area under Security tab. But this action doesn't solve the problem, I continue to see this message in the controller logs !
If I open a SSH session on the RAP, I can see this block of debug messages repeat all the time :

When I take a look into detailled debug messages of the controller I can see this :
*spamReceiveTask: May 06 17:30:44.364: #LWAPP-6-RADIUS_AUTHORIZATION: spam_radius.c:242 The system could not send join reply, AP authorization failed; AP:04:da:d2:1f:4d:6f
I don't know why the system talks about dot1x or Radius Authorization, and if this is the source of my problems. On a other hand, I can see in the debug messages that there is a 2 hours lag time between controller (correct time) and RAP (incorrect, I suppose it synchronize with the controller?)
I've recently switched to a Verizon hotspot. For additional range while I'm at home, can I configure my Actiontec PK 5000 as a repeater for the hotspot signal?

I do not know the concept of how to set this up. I'm currently using dynamic NAT for the web and this seems OK but I dont know how to map my fixed servers. I assume this is done with static NAT. Do I need to add sub interfaces on the S0/0 T1 interface for each of these fixed IPs? Then do I somehow do static NAT on these fixed IPs to their respective servers?
