I have a cisco 5520 running as IPsec concentrator. On the ASDM homepage is shows like 31 VPN connected. But if I go to Monitor > VPN is show only 18. Then if I use SSH using sh crypto command it shows the same number as on the Monitor > VPN sections. I am running 8.3(1) and ASDM 6.3(1).

Looking at the following output (show interface status) from one of our 4507s I see gig interfaces 3/2 to 3/6 are all trunked (dot1q). When I look at a show run they do not show as trunked. They should indicate switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q and switchport mode trunk (as does interface gig4/2). I have seven other 4507s all running the same IOS: 12.2(25)EWA8 and they all show the same information in show run and show interface status (as far as trunked goes). This is not a problem as I know the interfaces are trunked and working properly I am just puzzled as to why I see this difference.
Here is the sho int gig3/2 trunk. It looks like you are correct. I did not realize some were set to trunk mode on and others were not. I would think the running config would still show the port using dot1q but I guess not.
My Cisco 2811 router starts to hang & give the following error. "Original nvconfig doesn't have a correct magic number recovering from backup."I need to fix it ASAP.I've already enter common & change confreg to 0x2142 & reset but same problem occur.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded an ASA 5505 that has the Advanced Endpoint Assessment License to 8.4(3) and ASDM 6.4(7). Now there are no options in ASDM for adding AV, Firewall or AntiSpyware versions and definition levels etc? I have checked Host Scan Extensions and enabled 'Advanced Endpoint Assessment ver 3.5.3.1' however when I click configure and attempt to add any AV etc there are none to select - the 'Add Products' box is just blank.I have AnyConnect 3.0.5075, CSD 3.6.4021 and have tried with the integrated AnyConnect Host Scan image and with the standalone Host Scan image (3.0.5077) and the behaviour is the same ?

I have anyconnect premium and advanced endpoint assessment licenses installed with anyconnect essentials disabled. I have the standalone CSD package which hostscan is activated through.I am able to create host scan checks for registry and operating systems and have built dynamic access policies. The issue that I am experiencing is I can't get the av vendors to appear when configuring the advanced endpoint section. I keep seeing a pop with a blank screen when I try to add.I am using OSX lion and I have tried on windows also. I have tried on a 5505 and now on a failover set of 5510s.

An interesting point: the host dguselnx is my linux based computer that I am using to SSH to the ASA. I do not connect via ASDM from this device so it is strange that the hostid for the asdm sessions is showing as my linux host and not my Windows laptop (that I am trying to connect via ASDM from).
We’ve got lot of ASA appliances (around 30, 5505/5510/5520) and we never had this problem since the use of the new image software ASA 8.4(1) and ASDM 6.4(1). So, my problem is located on two ASA 5520 with active/passive failover with ASA image 8.4(1) and ASDM image 6.4(1).
My problem is that our appliance doesn’t show any logs when an ACL deny a packet, even if when I specify a specific “deny ACL” with a specific logging condition, asdm and ssh buffer logging are empty but the counters of the ACL increment.
At my work when I click on Network it immediately shows a full list of all the computers on the network. There's probably about 100. At home when I click network it takes like 30 seconds to do some scan and show like 3 computers. What's the deal?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an ASA 5550 running 8.4(5) and have installed ASDM 7.0(2), but when I try to manage the bookmarks under the Remote Access - Portal when I try to edit an individual item in a bookmark list the screen does not display any information. Is this a know bug, or do I need to have a specific java version for the new ASDM? As a side note, I have not noticed any other issues with the new version of ASDM, only the bookmarks. I initially tried to downgrade the ASDM version that I was using to connect, but it will no longer allow me to connect.

and applied it in "in" direction on Fa0 interface.
Now when i am sending ssh packets to this interface its showing below

Showing Your firewall has a version number null which is not supported by ASDM 6.2(5). I received this error when trying to run asdm on my asa 5505. I upgraded image and asdm trying different versions. I used many different versions of java all to no avail.

However, one of my colleagues is convinced that the license for the 5505 is *not* based ont he number of IPSEC endpoints, but the number of distince connections via *any* tunnel. So, according to him, if you have a license for 10 IPSEC endpoints, if you have 11 people connecting via *one* tunnel from a customer's network to our cloud, you go beyond your license.

The users will have successfully accessed the network previously but then will have difficulty associating to the network. After a period of time, the association appears successful again. The command Show Local gives the answers but it returns details of each connection and I can't see a way to omit the detail. Show Conn Count just gives the total. Ideally I would like to get a summary of the number of connections (TCP/UDP) for each inside host.
On a related matter I have used........
static (inside,outside) 12.34.56.00 2.34.56.00 netmask 255.255.255.0 tcp 400 100 udp 200 ..........to limit the number of connections to a subnet.This works and I see errors in the syslog when the limit is exceeded but when I change the limits and apply the changes, the syslog errors still show the previous limit being reached. How can I make changes to these connection limits take effect (without reloading the Pix)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobilebroadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet.To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN (not connected to internet) and dongle (connected to internet) connections.My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless NetworkAdapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have 3 pc's connected to the router, hard wired in using cat5. When plugging the cable into the router, the router port on front lights up. If I put it in the 3 port, the 3 lights up. If I put it in the #1 port, the port 1 lights up. I believe it means the pc is being detected by the router. If I go to the ip addy for the router (192.168.0.1), it is only showing the pc I am on. The other 2 pc's are not appearing, and they are not able to access the network. If I add a wireless item, like my Iphone, it is detected on the network right away.This only started this morning. I have restarted the pc's, restarted the router, reset the router, moved the cables to different ports, and swapped the cables from one pc to another. The only pc that gets detected in all of this is the one I am on. Regardless of port/ wire.

I'm working in the IT department for a new company, and one of the offices complains that using VoIP and doing large file transfers are constantly a problem. They are all connecting wirelessly to the WRVS4400N. I managed to vpn in and connect to the web interface of the router, and it shows that there are 30 devices connected wirelessly to it. However, when people plug into the wall jack VoIP and data seem to work fine.I can't find any info on what a best practice would be for number of wireless connections to the router. There's no Vlans setup on it from what I can tell, so that may be my next step, to separate data and voice traffic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTwo days ago I booted my laptop and found that I'm not able to connect to the internet via LAN. It didn't detect a connection, even though my cable was plugged in. It was able to detect the wifi networks from my neighbors, but that's not an option, i need the LAN. I changed absolutely nothing,nno updates, downloads, ... It just came out of nowhere.I already eliminated a cable problem, the laptop from my roommate was able to connect without a problem.When I plug the cable in mine, the lights on the port flicker, making me believe that it's not a problem with my port either.it's definitely a computer problem, but I'm not sure if it's my computer or my network adapter that's being a PITA.When I go to the Device Manager, the network adapter (broadcom 802.11g) is fine, no red x or yellow exclamation point. i have already tried turning it on and off, and uninstalling and then rebooting, no avail.

Currently I have a Netgear WNA3100 connected which works fine but I to use the TP-Link to connect to a second network simultaneously.Here's the problem.The drivers installed just fine for the TP-Link adapter. Windows shows that its connected as a USB device (USB2.0 WLAN) and Network & Sharing Centre shows it is being "Wireless Network Connection 4"(The Netgear one shows as "Wireless Network Connection 2")However, when i try to use the TP-Link one to connect to a network, it doesn't show up in the "Network Connections" menu on the Taskbar, and when i disconnect the Netgear one it says that it can't find any wireless connections at all; note that "Network & Sharing Centre" still shows the TP-Link Adapter as being connected to the PC).Tried Reinstalling the TP-Link Software, updating it, etc. Restarted PC. Disabled Netgear connection. Physically Disconnected Netgear Adapter and still no luck.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have some tunnels which terminate to my home router. I'm allowing the other ends of the tunnels to use my voice setup. I need to prepend *67 to all called numbers which don't originate from my house. I don't want people calling my home number based on the caller-id number they see when someone across one of the tunnels calls.
So if 5008 calls 212-333-4444 I want it sent to my provider as *672123334444. If 5001 calls a number, I don't want it touched. Can I do this? I can use IOS or CUCM here.
my computer is a dell dimension 1100, with a Linksys WMP54G wifi card, running vista home basic.In the wifi thing in the notification area, it shows two wireless networks, One is my normal SSID (Lower Net), and one is "Unidentified network". They are both on one wireless connection (Wireless Network Connection 3). When i try to go on the internet, it says i'm not connected. i tried disconnecting from the unidentified network, but that disconnects me from lower net too.
