I have to deploy a full IP-TV solution and the IGMP snooping must be supported on the switch.
I know the the ESW 520 support this protocol but the full IP-TV solution will manage uo to 200 set up boxes, does this switch support all this traffic?
I also have another question, what exactly mean "Combo SFP slots include one 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet port and 1 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet slot for fiber, 1 port active at a time." ? Is when I use 1 port with LX sfp transcever the 3 other uplink ports will be inactive and I can't add another or trunk it with another switch?
i want to setup IGMP Snooping on the Managed Switch SG 300-10. I do it over the webinterface. Enable Bride Multicast Filtering, Forwarding Method IP Group Address and enable IGMP Snooping v3. In the local Network i stream up to 4 Multicast streams 239.1.1.1-239.1.1.4. The client vor the Multicast are IP setupboxes. If i connect PRTG Network Monitor over SNMP to see the Traffic on the ports i see that all Multicast streams are at every port. What is the false i do? I thought only the multicast stream that is shoosen at the client are forwarding and not all multicast streams. The IP STBs have only a 100Mbit network adapter and i have to muticast over 10 Streams (10Mbit per stream) over the local VLAN. So i think IGMP Snooping is the solution for me. Or need i also a Multicast router?
I have a network which is based upon a 4507 Core/Dist switch, with 1G fibre to a bunch of radially connected 2960 Access switches. It all works fine and as expected for data and telephony.I have been tasked with setting up one of the VLANs to support multicast, so a bunch of video streams will be injected at the 4507, and will be delivered to client PCs connected to the 2960 switches. The 4507 is running with SVIs to some VLANs, but the VLAN that will have the Multicast on it is isolated, with no SVI.I could change this if required,I need to run IGMP snooping, and probably deploy CGMP to take advantage of the Cisco-proprietary functionaity.
I have some problems with IGMP snooping feature on the SG300 switch. I want to filter multicast dinamycally with IGMP snooping. To configure our switch I use the web page: - In Multicast I first enable: Bridge Multicast Filtering Status Thzn I enable IGMP snooping ,Then I enable IGMP Snooping on my VLAN During my tests I stream a video (UDP multicast). This stream is present on all the ports of my VLAN with IGMP snooping normally configured. Also, I can't see any entry in the IGMP/MLD IP Multicast Group Table where I should normally see my multicast address.
I have a pure L2 switching network and 2 hosts on the same vlan that want to communicate a protocol between each other using multicast packets.
I wanted to configure ip snooping only on this vlan and create a multicast group limited to only these 2 host ir order to make sure that the multicast traffic is only between both of them.
Since both are sender and receiver I´m not quite sure on how to configure this. In theory I also need to set an IP Multicast Address on the switch to where the hosts will send their multicast packets.
R1 is configured as host (no ip routing) with ip igmp join 239.10.10.10 on fa0/0 and R2 with ip pim sparse-mode on f0/0. SW1 is a Catalyst 3560 running IOS 12.2(25)SEE4 working at Layer 2 only in this topology (VLAN 1).
I configured SW1 for igmp snooping:
ip igmp snooping ip igmp snooping vlan 1
Basically, I can see 'snooped' muticast group (via IGMP reports sent by R1)
SW1#sh ip igmp snooping group Vlan Group Type Version Port List ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1 224.0.1.40 igmp v2 Fa0/2 1 239.10.10.10 igmp v2 Fa0/1, Fa0/2 SW1# SW1# SW1#
I've got a pair of Nexus 7010's running vPC. I am having a Multicast issue with a cluster of Linux servers that need to talk Multicast for cluster/high-availability operation. All the servers need to talk to a single multicast address and I am having trouble getting them to communicate. I believe I need to enable IP IGMP Snooping Querier on the N7K's and it needs to be enabled on the VLAN where the servers reside. How to enable IP IGMP Snooping Querier on a VLAN ?
We have a 3750 acting as the core. By default IGMP snooping is enabled on cisco 3750 from the documents.but, when we see the ip mroute table on the switch, it doesnt show any output.
I've been looking into IGMP snooping and have read that a L2 switch will forward multicast traffic to all ports connected to an interested receiver AND all mrouter ports. In a L2 'V' topology this results in all multicast traffic routed onto a VLAN being forwarded to the 2nd distribution switch. My question is how should a 6500 Sup720 deal with this unwanted multicast traffic? Both a Local SPAN of the RP and a Netdr capture suggest that this traffic is punted to the RP and ultimately dropped. Is this expected behavior or should the traffic be dropped in H/W?
We have 12 Catalyst Blade Switches 3020 for HP running IOS Version 12.2(55)SE. In the configuration of these switches I see the statement shown below.
no spanning-tree vlan 34,45-55,70,600,643,840,843-850
The 12 blade switches are configured as VTP clients and running VTP V2. I did not configure the statement shown above. It appered by itself. And even if I delete it, it will reapper. (The blade switches are interconnected to two 6509s. The two 6509s are the STP root and VTP bridges. I configure Vlans and STP on the 6509s).
why the statement above appers on the blade switches 3020s?
I mean I use other Cisco switches such as 3750s and 3560s and I have never seen the statement above appear by itself.
I have a new catalyst 2960,and i want to enable DHCP SNOOPING,but,it doesn't work, the server is stilling offert addresses IP and it's not connected in a trusted port, the schema is very simple:1 switch catalyst 2960 PST-S,1 server dhcp and 1 pc client, the PC and the server are in VLAN 10,DHCP SNOOPING is enabled in all ports and no port is trusted, but the client get addresse IP after retyping ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew in dos commande.the configuration and the version of the switch are in the file attached.I tested the same configuration in a catalyst C3560-24PS and DHCP SNOOPING work normally,i tested in other catalyst 2960-PST-S,but the same probléme:DHCP SNOOPING without effect, the commands typed is:
when enabling multicasting on layer 3 interfaces the CPU becomes fully utilized , is there any specific configuration should be enabled to reduce this .
Config :
Inetface vlan 100 ip pim sparse-dense ip igmp version 3
I was asked to mount ACESMs on each of the CAT6K switches of a VSS cluster (one ACESM on each individual switch). On a non-VSS environment, the "svclc module <slot> vlan-group <group>" command is used to bind the VLAN group to the module on a certain slot. But now I am facing a VSS scenario, I will need to combine switch and slot in order to reference each of the individual modules...
How do I "index" each of the ACESMs in a VSS cluster? ¿Is there an extension of the aforementioned command to be able to combine switch and slot information?
I trying configure ASN traffic load balance, but doesn't works.I have one Cisco Catalyst 6509 and onde Cisco Ace10 module, in my context "PanWEB" i have the interfaces above: [code] If i try to establish a telnet session(telnet 10.96.202.10 80) i see the SYN packet passing through the ACE and going to the real server, but, the server do not response the SYN packet. I done a capture in the server using wireshark and could see that the IP address of the destination is the VIP and not the rserver ip address , this is a problem? Why can not I have the SYN + ACK from the server?
My customer they do not want change their real server IPs. So I need setup one interace (one armed) for them on ACE4710. Who had this sample configuration? (CSS has this but it seems to be not compitable with ACE)
I am attempting to configure an ACE4710 to perform SSL end-to-end confguration. i.e. SSL termination - load balance - SSL initiate to backend server. The configuration appears to work fine in a test lab using any old web server, however when I peform the same configuration in the production environment it does not work. It appeatrs from a capture run on the ace that the ace is reseting the tcp connections after communicating with the back end server. The main difference I can think of in this environment is that the cert and key pair the ace is using where exported from the backend server, i.e. both the ace and the backend server have the same certificates and keys. Is this allowed? how to troubleshoot why the ace resets the connection.
I have to deploy the Cisco GSS in our 2 dataceters globally seprate IP ranges to loadbalance the exchange 2010 environment with Cisco ACE 4710 series SLBs. The scenario is to deploy one GSS + ACE on each datacenters and our nameserver will point to both GSS's IP addresses to get through. Incase primary site "site A" goes down name server will point the client's request to "site B".
What will be the physical setup of the GSS here and what configuration should on SLB ACE will make it work? Do GSS and ACE need to be in the same vlan? is this necessary to use Both interface of the GSS to get things working? How the GSS will check the health check on ACE if they both are on different vlans/ip range? Our ACE will be in routed mode do we need to assign the Real server default gateway as ACE inside interface with the server farm or just do the SNAT of the client IPs so the request can come back to ACE?
I have got a catalyst cisco 2960G series switch and via this switch I want to creat serveral vlans. I am getting a dhcp IP from a router and I want to setup my own vlan networks.
I plugged in the Ethernet cable that came from the dhcp router to port 16 of the cisco switch and configured the ports 1,2 and 3 for vlan 1, 2 and 3
the dhcp router has given me this IP 192.168.10.158 defautl gateway is : 192.168.10.1
when I plug in a PC to port 1 or 2 of the cisco switch I still receiving the IP from range 192.168.10.* but not from the range that I configured for the vlan 1 or 2.
Below is my startup configuration:
no file verify auto spanning-tree mode pvst spanning-tree extend system-id
I have CISCO catalyst with VLANs (VLAN ID 33, 36, 40-53) configured. I need to configure port mirroring in Switch 3750 for NAC (Network Access Control). I need to Monitor all the VLANs. Here is the SPAN configuration of switch: [code] Monitor session 1 source vlan 33 , 36 , 40 – 53.Monitor Session 1 destination interface fa 1/0/8 (here I am not able to set encapsulation dot1q ) because the error occurred saying %one or more dest port do not support the encapsulation%.
I got problem with wake on LAN software.. The software unable to ON all pc's remotely if sitting under different vlan. Everything is ok if using the same vlan. Below are the network diagram & switch configuration.
Layer 3 switch Intervlan routing configuration
ip forward-protocol udp 7 ! interface Vlan4 description vlan Client-WOL ip address 172.22.51.253 255.255.254.0 ip access-group Deny_HTTP_Vlan1 in ip helper-address 172.20.1.246
[code].....
After configured all the switches with the above setting, the software still cannot wake all the pc's using LAN. Base on sniffing, i can't find UDP port usage by the software. Attached here with print screen from wireshark.
I am struggling with a CE520 and its smartports stuff.I have configured the following vlans :
1- data 100 - phones
I need to bring those vlans (both of them) to a Cisco 800 router. The port of the 800 router is already configured as trunk and accepts vlan 1 and 100.The cisco 800 has both vlan 1 and 100 configured with 2 ips on different subnets, and ip routing is enable (to route between two vlans). Also, no access lists are configured.I have configured one port in the switch as role "router" and connected to the router. The other ports are all configured as phone-desktop (phone vlan 100 desktop vlan 1).If I connect a phone and manually configure an ip (the phone gets automatically vlan 100), and try to ping the phone from the router, it doesnt respond. Alse vlan 100 is protocol down.I am guessing what s the right configuration as the link between the switch and the router should be a trunk link for 1 and 100 vlans, but it looks like is transporting only vlan 1.Also changing the port role to "other" when you can specify the native vlan and another vlan, the switch doesnt accept vlan 100 as additional vlan on that link.
I am migrating services from SUP720-3B to VS-SUP2T-10G= and moving to a VSS configuration between a pair of Cat6506 distribution layer switches. I need to enable QoS on these switches, primarily to trust dscp and also to prioritise voice traffic. The autoqos feature works for some ports but does not work on port-channel interfaces and port-channel member interfaces. How can I apply the qos settings for these interfaces in line with what auto qos would normally provide. My line cards are as follows:
Civic_6506VSS#sho mod Mod Ports Card Type Model Serial No. --- ----- -------------------------------------- ------------------ ----------- 1 4 CEF720 4 port 10-Gigabit Ethernet WS-X6704-10GE
I am connecting two catalyst 3500 XL switches via fiber fx ports for layer 2 connectivity. Do I need to configure anything in the IOS or do I just plug in the fiber?
