I have a small problem with a visual network on packet tracer. While i have two networks connected one ospf and one rip (v2) and they are fully functional with each other, i cant get access to the Http server on the ospf network from a host machine on the RIP network. (each network has a HTTP and one DNS - DHCP server). I will also include the Packet tracer file.

Due to bandwith requirements, we need to join a network with a RV016 to a network with an RV082 via a point to point air bridge. (VPN over adls was not cutting it) fortunatelly there is line of sight.

I am testing out some inspection options on an ASA 5505, and I am running into a situation in which applying a http inspection is dropping all outbound http traffic. I get a "protocol violation" error in the logs.

My Point ot Point radio use different IP address to separate from lan address (10.1.19.xxx) Radios (10.1.119.xxx)1. Everything is working just want to re-design everything never thought I would grow this fast with in 2 years. Hope I explain this well enought. 90% of users are out in the country without high speed internet.
We have a point to point connection going from a regional office to the main office this is provided by a Service Provider. In our office we have an ISP and what we need to prevent from happening is that if the internet drops from the ISP we could somehow re-direct the internet traffic through this point to point connection and make it so that our Internet connection is pulled from the main office. is it just a matter of re-configuring?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a PIX 515E V7.0.4 and I'm having trouble with http access between the inside interface and a DMZ zone I have. I have a web server setup in the DMZ with an web interface to upload/download files. I can connect to this interface from a workstation in the inside network but when I try to download a file it is incredibly slow. If I upload a file there are no speed issues. If I connect using an https connection then both upload and downloads are at speeds I would expect.
I have disabled http inspect but this didn't improve the speed connection.
Other http communications from inside to outside do not have any speed issues in either direction.
do we need MAC sublayer in point to point network?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network.My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems.The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.

It worked in some time but then it begun crashing again...Then they said it was the cable in the road that could not take all the data stream... And something about and Bit error?I just dont belive the cable in the road thing because our neighbour are running 10 M/bits without a single error anytime... View 1 Replies View Relatedi live in a two story townhouse. under the stairs, there is a small closet where the modem and router are. there are also three ethernet ports, one that leads to each of the bedrooms. However, the only one that is being used is my room (my roommates dont need ethernet) so what i decided to do was run the ethernet port from the modem directly to my room and then connect the router to it using the ethernet port in my room. (my room is upstairs)
Now, this setup works great for me. I can connect my HD to the Airport and my printer via ethernet and my desktop as well. BUT ever since i moved the router upstairs to my room, the internet has been EXTREMELY slow downstairs
so this is what i was thinking, I want to get another wireless router and put it downstairs where the modem is, and use my airport Extreme as the "second" router. But, i want to use a different SSID for my airport extreme. is this possible?
I was thinking to connect the new router downstairs like normal, and disable the DHCP server on the airport extreme and change the IP address to make sure it isnt the same as the new router, then connect the new router to one of the three ethernet ports on my airport extreme.
Is that the correct way to set it up? and if i do that, would i be able to connect all my devices without a problem? (in addition to the devices mentioned earlier, i also have a second printer, a PS3, a home entertainment system, and sometimes my laptop, all connected to the airport via an ethernet switch) and lastly, will I be able to access the internet without a problem? will this slow down the internet that i get?
the reason i want to do this is because 1) I dont want any of my roommates or their guests to access my hard drive (i know, i can put a password on it. but still) and 2) if my printers are on the same network as their computers, they like to "accidentally" wirelessly print to my printers. I want to avoid that because they print. alot.

We have a working LAN port, so access isn't a problem. And we know the server address. 1. Is it possible to configure our own set of ip address like 10.71.10.1 and 10.71.50.1 on the GE 0/0 port?
2. Or can we configure our own set of ip addresses (10.71.10.1 and 10.71.50.1) to GigabitEthernet port 0/1 and maintain the other ip addresses on port 0/0?
The first purpose is to have our own set of ip addresses for LAN connection and I will be able to connect or telnet whichever ip address or port is up.

I am aware that there is Lightweight software for the 1300 series bridges but never used one so far
I have a point to point 100mb line connecting SG500x switches at 2 locations, with these ports in a vlan together. I use layer 3 on the SG500x's to route between the two sites. I also have RIP protocol enabled to allow for automatic failover if the point to point fails (this works well).
I upgraded the ios to 1.30.59, and the connection now runs at a fraction of the speed. I have hard-coded the ports to run at 100mb full duplex, but I still only get around 12mb of throughput between the switches. I used to get about 90mb before. The provider also hard-coded the circuit to 100mb full duplex. The provider has checked the circuit remotely, and everything looks fine. I tested with a laptop at each side, and did get almost 70mb throughput. I would think this indicates some type of setting mismatch, but i cannot find anything.
I am using a backup vpn for now as some things look flaky as well (on vpn, I can use the web interface to access the SG500x on the opposite side, but on the point to point I cannot - I can ping the device though).
I have seen some references on here to shutting off STP on these 2 ports.
