I am running the Startup Wizard from my browser as I do not have a Console Access for a brand new CISCO ASA and I am stucked with the User? Password ? I tried many combination and nothing worked.
View 1 RepliesIve just started up a new cisco 887va-w and the startup wizard doesnt start. Is there a way to make this manually start?
What i tend to do is run the wizard for the basic settings then run 10-15 lines from the client (depending on adsl or vdsl config) to configure the router. But for some reason this one doesnt fire it after loging on with cisco cisco to 10.10.10.1 and changed the username and password. I just get the bebased cisco cp 'basic'. Cant see anyware on it to launch the wizard either.
Ive tried reset button on the back and reset to factory from cisco cp?
Software running on the unit is c800-universalk9-mz.spa.151-4,m4.bin
don't have an option to connect a console cable to my cisco router. The usb to serial converter will not work in windows7 only on XP.have physical access to my 881 Cisco Router. If I remember correctly these routers have a default ip address. This router is brand new, out of the box. I am thinking I can access it with the correct IP via network instead of console.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to restrict outgoing traffic. Currently the deafault any, any IP allows all traffic from the inside to the outside.
So I created some rules to only allow HTTP and HTTPS. First I configured a rule to allow all DNS (TCP 53) traffic out. Then I added a rules to allow HTTP (TCP 80) and secure HTTP (TCP 443) out.
When I apply and try to surf out to the internet from a box on the inside network I cannot. Remove the rules which returns the default any, any IP and traffic flows.
Packet tracer shows that the traffic should flow. And I have had minor traffic flowing but slow.
how to only allow web surfing from the inside to outside using the ASDM (5.1) to configure? I realize this is probably a very simple thing, but I only configure the ASA about once every year!
There are two issues which are testing my resolve.
1) Bad Cryptochecksum Ignored error
2) Unable to boot to a save startup-config file.
I want to take the configuration from one ASA 5505 and move it to another ASA 5505. I copied the startup-config file from an ASA 5505 running asa821-k8.bin to an ASA running 8.222-k8 to flash using tftp. I set the boot config parameter on the new asa to flash:/startup-config which is the location of the startup file. If I use copy run start command, I over write the startup file. When I copy the startup configuration to the running configuration I get a Bad Cryptochecksum Ignored error and the startup file does not copy over to the running file. How can I resolve this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are using ASA5520 as our VPN concentrator and has configured IPSec authentication using digital certificates with Microsoft CA for the remote access VPN. The AAA server used for remote user authentication is Windows Active Directory. Screenshot of the AAA configuration is attached. The problem we face is that the "Login DN" account (marked in red box in the screenshot) is frequently getting locked out in the active directory. I have confirmed that the password is the same on both ends and the account is not used any where else.
The NTP server configured for the VPN concentrator is the Active Directory itself but no accounts are configured (not required) for updating the time service in the concentrator.
We set up our new Linksys last night but when the password was written down there is no distinction between upper and lower case letters - I can't login to an account page or do anything and I needed a password for a visiting friend.

Unfortunately when i open up the ASDM there is no vpn wizard to start the configuration.The version of ASDM i am using from flash is 645-206.bin and the firmware on the ASA's is 842-k8.bin so should be ok. changed the router wan access pwd and now trying to test the dap i can't seem to log in with the default ip / dlinkap url access i have tried the bridge and ap switch setting on the dap with no luck after resetting the dap a couple of times with no luck ..

I would like the login page to the portal to default to our main corporate profile (so the users get NAM and all the policy goodness), but presently it is defaulting to the last profile I created. View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a PIX 506e from a friend that was not longer using it. I'm trying to get started with the configuration page. I've reset it to factory defaults, rebooted and connected up ethernet. I can ping the device at 192.168.1.1 and access it via console. I browse the site https://192.168.1.1/startup.html, get the invalid ssl certification, get a login prompt (user/pass) and as the document says I leave it blank. As soon as I hit ok it goes to the 404 error Page Not found.

I have anyconnect premium and advanced endpoint assessment licenses installed with anyconnect essentials disabled. I have the standalone CSD package which hostscan is activated through.I am able to create host scan checks for registry and operating systems and have built dynamic access policies. The issue that I am experiencing is I can't get the av vendors to appear when configuring the advanced endpoint section. I keep seeing a pop with a blank screen when I try to add.I am using OSX lion and I have tried on windows also. I have tried on a 5505 and now on a failover set of 5510s.

I want to copy this to start-up config on member1 and then reload member1 and have it copy the same config to member2 (stdby). I guess I am trying to understand if I copy the configuration to member1 and reload it, member 2(stdby) will have become active and try to copy the old configuration to member1 which I do not want.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have not worked with ASDM in a while. I have a 5510, with asdm-645.bin in the flash. The device runs version 8.4(2). I can download ASDM from the http interface of the firewall from the management interface. But I can not log in. I have used blank username and password, no username and enable password, blank username with enable password and a few other permutations. I then tried to connect to the asdm interface from inside also. But I can not connect. Needless to say, I have enabled http, and updated the http access-list. The only logging I have enabled is buffered. Is there any configuration that I am missing? Shall I cut and past the config?

The last time I logged on to the firewall was last week and I am the only person with access to it. I used a backup account to login and was able to, but on the menu bar the "Configuration" button is missing.
