I am evaluation the new Anyconnect 3.0 client against Microsoft DA. Everything looks good but I am wondering; Is it possible to have Anyconnect auto connect (based on TND) before user logon without the user activating the client manually?
View 4 RepliesI recently got my hands on the latest Secure Mobility VPN v3.1.01 client. We are upgrading from the old anyconnect 2.4 client so there are many changes that are catching us by surprise. The biggest issue I have right now is that the new Mobility VPN launches automatically when a user signs into a machine. We would like to disable that automatic connection/launch feature. With the old 2.4 client we simply disabled the AnyConnect Service in Services.msc by default and started it up when a user was ready to connect.

On clientless ssl vpn it prompts me for manual certificate selection but on anyconnect client it is not. profile configuration is mentioned below. In the highlighted line below i have changed UserControllable="true" still no results.

I know that configuration in 8.2.x and 8.4.x is different in terms of NAT and object groups.
I just want to know is it possible to do a direct upgrade from 8.2.3 to 8.4.x ?Secondly, will ASA automatically convert all the configuration from 8.2 to 8.4 format during the reboot after the upgrade?
in the ASA Migration Guide for Version 8.3 says about real ip address: "All of the access-listcommands used for these features are automatically migrated unless otherwise noted"
But my ACL's have not been migrated to real ip address. In my migration log:

I would like to schedule automatic backups of our ASA5500's OoO-hours:
1. SSH from secure server and create _FULL_ backup - what would be the CLI command(s) ?
2. SCP from secure server and retreive file(s) - what is the location of the file(s) ?
Is it possible to automatically shutdown the OUTSIDE interface on a Cisco ASA 5520 in case of intrusion?.
In my opinion if there is an attempt of intrusion, just the device would stop it. If it cannot detect it, how can the device recognize the event and so shutdown the interface?. Am I correct?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been told that if an access list is created with the suffix _access_in, that if the preifx is the name of an interface, then that access list is automatically bound to that interface, even if there is no explicit command doing that. I looking at the config of an ASA 5550.
example:
Interface is Production
access list is called Production_access_in.
Is that access list automatically bound to the Production interface, even though it does not show up in any other commands?
I am trying to use the built in feature of Cisco ASA 5510 smart call home feature with the purpose of automatic backup creation by email. I found the configuration [URL]. 1.)As far as I understand this means RA users and peer2peer combined?
2.)I need additional RA clients to be able to connect in at any time, as far as I know there is no way to allow more IPSEC clients then this due to hardware limitations?
3.)If I go for the Anyconnect option (10 users license), does this then mean that I can use the 25 IPSEC VPNs and at the same time have users using the 10 SSL Anyconnect VPNs at the same time?
4.)Which Anyconnect license am I supposed to buy if this is the route I go, the clients will all be connecting from their desktops most of the time?
5.)Is it difficult to set up?
II have a management network 192.168.5.x and VPN network 192.168.25.x. I can ping a all my network elements except to firewall (ASA5510). The ASA has the IP 192.168.5.1. I think that the firewall has some restriction but I don't know. I have 8.2 software and any connect 3.0 and work fine. If I am in the management network (192.168.5.7), I can ping to firewall. The restrict is with the VPN network.

Does that mean I can have 25 IPSEC tunnels and 25 Anyconnect tunnels at the same time? The customer needs at least 50 concurrent tunnels on his ASA. Am I understanding it correctly?
I was thinking the customer could pay for the anyconnect essentials license and connect his anyconnect clients to the ASA. Is that a good option to get the 50 concurrent clients connected?
Recently upgraded a 5510 to Anyconnect Essentials and Anyconnect Mobile, the device was Security Plus and is now Base. Is it supposed to work this way? I lost my Gigabit interfaces. Is it possible to have Security Plus + Anyconnect Essentials?

So i setup a failover active / passive with 2 ASA5520's
Primary asa has 750 Anyconnect vpn licensing and the secondary asa has 2 Anyconnect licenses
I haven't setup the second asa with the new 750 licenses i purchased but when i do a show version it shows that the failover licensed features shows 750...
Does this mean i do not have to install the secondary anyconnect licenses on the standby ASA unit?

Our current cable ISP is having issues providing us with consistant connectivity. I would like to bring in a second ISP to allow my users to choose where they will connect to. There will be two dns names and i just want to to be able to choose between them.
Is this possible on the ASA5505? supporting two ISPs at one time for VPN on both?
Our Cisco ASA 5510 running 8.4(4)1 just started dropping packets and our AnyConnect clients are seeing horrible performance. The system is extremely slow compared to just a couple days ago.Nothing has changed on the system. I can post the configs if needed.

I have done a "sho vpn-sessiondb detail svc" and I can see the dropped packets of the individual users, but cannot see why the packets are still dropping.how I can correct this and restore speeds?
I was wondering if it is needed to license the IPsec VPN clients in the ASA5500 firewalls...I know that you have license the SSL VPN peers (AnyConnect). I am almost sure that for the IPsec you don't have to.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have 2 ASA 5510's running in a Active/Standby configuration. It appears that most of the changes we make on the active unit are replicated to the standby unit. However, there are 3 AnyConnect Client Profiles on the active unit and none of them show up on the standby, the standby has no AnyConnect Profiles. We also have 1 OnConnect script on the active unit and it does not appear on the standby unit either.
I was under the assumption that all config items on the active unit would replicate to the standby. Is this not correct? Do I need to do something extra to get everything replicated? Are there other items that do not replicate?
I have ASA 5520 running ver 8.3.(2)8 and configured for AnyConnect VPN. While testing for iPads and iPhones we noticed that on connecting it disconnects few times before finally connecting. These are the messages logged in the ASA.I don't see authenticatio as an issue. Results are better with wifi compared to 3G. [Code]

When I run the AnyConnect install on my desktop machine I have click through a few windows to accept the certificate. When I connect through the mobile client on Android, the connection goes right through without a prompt to import/choose/download a certificate. I'm able to connect but I'm wondering if the phone has actually recieved a certificate. I'm in the 'Advanced Connection Editor' screen and the certificate setting says "Automatic".

It uses port 1433 for the first connect and establishes then a dynamic connection. So i am a Newbie - what rules or configs do i miss?
