I have SSH and SCP enabled on the ASA 5510. I can SSH fine into the device. However, I cannot copy files to the device usng WinSCP. Used all options but nothign seems to work. I see the log authentication successful, but then WinSCP reports no response from ASA.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a sg300-52 in layer 3 mode. I have 2 Dell access switches that connect to the sg300 in 4 port LAGs each. Connectivity works as expected.Servers are on their own VLAN, and plugged directly into the sg300. When somebody starts a file copy from their client workstation off a file server, the server VLAN drops everything except for the file copy. Even drops packets on its own vlan, (server to server communication) until the file copy is complete. Seems like the VLAN is rate limited somehow.

The original file was a PCKS12 file that was converted to a set of .PEM files as I have no access to any server to do a file transfer. This has worked in the past. the error I get is "Error: File not of recognized types - PEM, DER or PKCS12, import failed". I am not sure what is exactly failing. The cert was converted to a .PEM and the ACE imported that fine.

The file copy is working fine with my Ethernet connection however.The symptom is as follow. I cannot copy large file from a share to the computer. The copy starts then after a while (let's say 30MB copy over a 100MB file) it stops with the error 'File copy error: The network name is no longer available'. When this occurs, I still have my wireless card connected and I can ping my computer from the controller.I tried to adjust some radio settings (channel, power on the AP I'm connected to) because we have a large wireless network here, but no success. I also update the wireless card driver, create a new SSID, etc. No success at all. However the copy went fine for small file size.

Wired: TivoHD, Sony BluRay Player, Sony TV, Windows XP Wireless: Lenovo Laptop (Windows 7), HP Laptop (Windows 7), 3 iPods, 2 iPhones
When I try to copy large files (~ 4GB) from my (wired) Windows XP box to either of my (wireless) laptops, the Linksys drops my WiFi network -- but the wired connections continue to work (including internet access). Copying the same/similar file from a WiFi device to a wired device appears to work correctly, as does copying from WiFi to WiFi.
To be clear, my WiFi network "disappears" -- it is no longer listed as an available network (as opposed to just dropping internet connectivity for WiFi). Unplugging the router and plugging it back in brings my WiFi network back up.
I have been able to repeat this issue with multiple files over the course of several weeks, and it happens about 75% of the time (i.e., I am occassionally able to complete a file copy from wired LAN to WiFi).
A little bit of background: I resurrected an old Windows XP box and am using it for shared network storage. I copied about 400 GB of files from my laptops to the XP box (WiFi to wired) with no issues at all. Pulling the same files back from XP to my laptops (wired to WiFi) has been causing the issue described above.
Since the EA4500 automatically updates via the Cisco Connect Software, does a copy of the firmware file get saved to the local computer?

I have windows 7 however, the other 7 all have Macs. What is the easiest way to set up file sharing so that all 8 of us can have secure access to a hard-drive so that we may all access music, pictures, and files specifically stored to that drive only. We do not want to grant each other access to our internal drives, only a network drive. I would like this shared drive to be secure.

Every Time I copy a file or multiple files over LAN switch from a PC to PC b become each restart the wireless module and am lost file.
I have a laptop and a desktop pc both connected to the same wifi network, both running win 7. File transfers are not quick enough for my liking over wifi so when I need to move a few files about I tend to hook the two together with an ethernet cable. When I try to copy a file however it defaults to using the wireless connection. I'm getting around this at the moment by just turning the wifi off on the laptop while I do the transfers but it would be nice to not have to.

Accessing files on the desktop with xp installed is quick and transfers files at around 5-7mb/s. When I connect to my main pc with windows 7 on it, file transfer is EXTREMELY slow and almost always stutters and freezes. I've tried removing the drive from 'shared' and then adding it again, reinstalling my ethernet driver, swapping ethernet ports on the back of my router, and resetting it altogether. Still a slow transfer speed.I use workgroup all around, for xp and for 7.

I got two different answers - No surprise.So, I ask the forum, what file transfer speeds should I expect when transfering a good sized amount of data (10gig) from wired PC on a 10/100/1000 network router to another PC via wireless connection 20 (feet away + two walls) using 802.11N.Both PC's are new / newer with win 7 64 bit. - Current transfer speeds - Both wired and wireless internet download speed tests are arond 21 meg per second. Both PC's wired and wireless get around 3.7 meg per second internet download (speed tests).At this point - no real difference in internet access between PC's and wired / wireless.
However, when I copy a file from PC1 to PC 2 (both wired) I get 68 megs per second. When I transfer the same data set (10 gig) from PC1 wired to PC 2 wireless, the data transfer falls to 3.7 meg per second. One rep told me to expect about 80% of my wired rate or about 54 megs per second (when using my 802.11N 300meg) equipment. The other rep (same company) told me that the 3.7 meg per second ia about the best I can expect. A transfer rate of 3.7 megs per second simply does not appear to be a reasonable speed given that all my wireless equipment is pretty new and supports numbers that are much higher
i am connecting my laptop and desktop for file transfers.Both have win XP. i have a airtel modem and i use a cable to connect my laptop or desktop to that modem for internet. Both work fine with the modem and i dont have nay problem in connecting to internet. I am using the same cable to connect the laptop n desktop and i receive message "A network cable is unplugged". Is it that i cannot use this cable for this purpose or something else? the data cabel reads: "Data cable CAT.5 UTP 26AWG 2pair AWM PVC 75deg C EIA/TIA 568B"

View 12 Replies View Relatedi am running windows server 2008 with the hyper V role installed.i have installed windows 7 Professional as a guest OS. assigned 2 GB of Ram to the machine. the point behind the VM is to virtualize my FTP server and incase a format is required i have the VM file on my 2nd partition, host OS on another. i use Cerberus FTP Server on the Win7 OS. i configured the server to accept SFTP and TLS connections. on the host OS i installed Fire FTP and File Zilla, both Clients will at max download a 4 MB file at 64 KB/Sec .. i have seen both jump to about 80 KB but was only a split second and never held.. however if i login without SFTP and transfer over standard protocol, i download at 1 MB/sec. which is my normal speeds. would this be only to the encryption process?, in the Cerberus Server there are options to adjust download speeds, i have left it default, and altered it to allow its max configuration. My ISP is not limiting any connections that shouldnt be.
