View 1 Replieswe just deployed a cisco wireless solution with WLC4404-100, WCS, and a bunch of 1130AP and I experience some problem with file copy under windows xp. The file copy is working fine with my Ethernet connection however. The symptom is as follow. I cannot copy large file from a share to the computer. The copy starts then after a while (let's say 30MB copy over a 100MB file) it stops with the error 'File copy error: The network name is no longer available'. When this occurs, I still have my wireless card connected and I can ping my computer from the controller.I tried to adjust some radio settings (channel, power on the AP I'm connected to) because we have a large wireless network here, but no success. I also update the wireless card driver, create a new SSID, etc. No success at all. However the copy went fine for small file size.

View 1 Replies View Related i'm trying to write a simple batch file to make my life easier. We have a few dozen Aix Boses that we telnet into and about 70 as400 Swift systems we telnet into. i was starting on a batch file like the one below where i could run it, type in the system and it log me over. What I want to add is for it to put in my user name. (if i could draw a password from a excel file that would be fantastic but id settle for just my user name). I have tried - l (username) at the end of telent and it didn't work. also tried -a. i keep getting the box with user name/password and there both blank. how i can get it to type in my user name?
here is my script.
@echo off
set /p name= What system are you logging into?
telnet %name%
i tried start script.vbs as another attempt using this info
Set cloner = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
cloner.run"cmd"
WScript.Sleep 500
cloner.SendKeys"telnet %name%"
cloner.SendKeys("{Enter}")
WScript.Sleep 500

Connectivity works as expected.Servers are on their own VLAN, and plugged directly into the sg300. When somebody starts a file copy from their client workstation off a file server, the server VLAN drops everything except for the file copy. Even drops packets on its own vlan, (server to server communication) until the file copy is complete. Seems like the VLAN is rate limited somehow.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing a strange, repeatable behavior with my Linksys E1000. I have several wireless and wired devices connected to my E1000:
Wired: TivoHD, Sony BluRay Player, Sony TV, Windows XP Wireless: Lenovo Laptop (Windows 7), HP Laptop (Windows 7), 3 iPods, 2 iPhones
When I try to copy large files (~ 4GB) from my (wired) Windows XP box to either of my (wireless) laptops, the Linksys drops my WiFi network -- but the wired connections continue to work (including internet access). Copying the same/similar file from a WiFi device to a wired device appears to work correctly, as does copying from WiFi to WiFi.
To be clear, my WiFi network "disappears" -- it is no longer listed as an available network (as opposed to just dropping internet connectivity for WiFi). Unplugging the router and plugging it back in brings my WiFi network back up.
I have been able to repeat this issue with multiple files over the course of several weeks, and it happens about 75% of the time (i.e., I am occassionally able to complete a file copy from wired LAN to WiFi).
A little bit of background: I resurrected an old Windows XP box and am using it for shared network storage. I copied about 400 GB of files from my laptops to the XP box (WiFi to wired) with no issues at all. Pulling the same files back from XP to my laptops (wired to WiFi) has been causing the issue described above.
I have to share some PDF files with members of my organization, I have a Windows XP Pro box dedicated for this. Currently they can access it from within the office as a shared folder. I would like to make it available remotely is there a better way other then as a FTP access.

Now the problem is I can get Ping Command request successfully but can't access that folder from the clients instead it's been asking for username and password. Also, that username and password is not working even if used it.

I am facing some issue in LAN network.I have connected one desktop( win 7) and another desktop (win xp) to the TP link router. Both the computers got ip address and able to share the internet. But both the computers are not in the same network. That is they cant PING each other. hence they are not visible to each other.
I have a network that is currently set up in the following way:Modem -> vonage Motorola router -> wireless router Most computers are hard wired to the Motorola router. Some other ones connect via the linkseys wireless router. All computers are able to connect to the Internet. The problem I have is that I will be setting up a home computer as a file server connected to the Motorola router. The network acts as though it is two meaning that computers on one router can't see computers on the other router. What steps should I take in order to make all computers accessible through both routers. When I type 192.168.1.1 from a computer on the Motorola router, I get nothing, when I type in my actual ip address, I get the Motorola router. When I type in 192.168.1.1 from a linkseys connected computer, I get access to the linkseys router.

I have Symatec PCanywhere installed on both When i'm on the same connection (wireless internet).I can get it to work no problem. However when I try to remote in using a different internet connection it does not go through.
I've done some research and found out that instead of using the IP address it gives me (dynamically) [192.168.2.5] i need to aquire the WAN IP address from a website or through the router. As well as configuring virtual server through the router, and enable port forwarding in some way or another for specific ports.
That is: that I have a slow general storage drive that is becoming full. A fast HDD for recording onto with fraps and for programs that I won't use with fraps. I then have an SSD as my main drive which gets VERY full VERY quickly. I then have another computer that has a pretty quick 1TB RAID 0 running and a gigabit network, the network being the bottleneck but still pretty damn quick (120MB/s which is plenty fast enough).
Now, what I intend to do is have my storage drive stay as is; my fraps drive to continue it's job, and then for my old computer to store my big programs to run off, things like games. Is it possible to do this as when I've tried it says I don't have permission even though I gave access to the whole HDD from the network. (I'm installing on this computer but changing to the mapped network drive for the install directory).
I get this message when trying to connect to server the remote computer is not available on the network.ISP provider was changed so was IP address.

I then opened my task manager and ended some tasks I thought were possibly infected. When I went back to the wireless status, the unfamiliar connections disappeared.
I use Norton firewall + kaspersky internet security and my virus definitions have always been up to date, but I cannot detect anything. I also set my options to permit only MAC authenticated computers and changed my wireless WPA/WPA2 key, but every time I turn my wireless on, this guy somehow is connected to my network. [code]
I know that when you surf the web, websites can log your IP & MAC address. If you get my jist, I don't want my laptop to be flagged on a few web sites I have been on.My plan is to use another pc, that has a wireless braodband dongle from a mobile phone company. The pc will be attched to the wireless router via Ethernet, but banned from access the web via the router. This way I can connect remotley from my laptop.
