Cisco Firewall :: Possible For 5505 To Route / Map Renaming Private IP Addresses Through Its External Port

I have purchased a subnet of 8 private IP addresses from my ISP. 109.x.x.128/29.The ISP has placed a juniper router within our data centre which is routing purely from 109.x.x.206/30 to 109.x.x.128/29 with the ip of fa0/1 set to .129.
 
I have linked a cisco 5505 to fa0/1 of the juniper from fa0/0 and configured its IP to .130. I have configured NAT to translate our client pool 192.168.16.x /24 address' to the internet.
 
Is it possible for the 5505 to route / map my remaing private IP addresses through its external port? I have tried creating a seperate VLAN for a DMZ for our servers to sit within but am returned with a subnetting error as VLAN for my external port is all ready configured within the same subnet.

I have a customer thats got a Linksys router now, that has a DMZ port.The DMZ port is configurede to it routes the extra public ip-adress to the DMZ port it has.At the DMZ port they have another router connected, where they routes the public ip-adresses på some other devices.How can i make this setup on a Cisco ASA 5505 (With the Security Plus licens)What i have to do is to replace the Linksys router, and make it so, so it works like it was before with the Linksys.

I have a couple of ASA 5505's which work fine for what they are doing VPN and all that - we have 1 DLINK DFR-700 Firewall left and I need to get a new ASA to replace this since it is old.
 
All this box really does is port forward external clients to 1 address on the internal lan for client software updates. Any example configs?
 
So lets say we have client a with IP 1.1.1.1 and client b has 2.2.2.2 - at the moment this is what happens client a and b come in through http and get mapped to the internal http server 10.10.1.2
 
So I need to setup about 100 clients which can come in through http only - get mapped to the internal IP and also keeping the internal server to be able to access anything outside.

Cisco Routers :: Route 2 Incoming IP-Addresses To WAN Port Of RV110W

Just  purchased a Cisco RV110W for our small business.  We were told this was  easy for us to use and secure enough for our small office and for our  travelling sales staff to access our website.
 
We  purchased 2 dedicated IP-addresses, 216.82.5.230 for access to one  server, and 216.82.5.231 for access to a second server (these  IP-Addresses given are just an example; not real). 
 
These come into the single RV110W WAN port.  The two servers are plugged into 2 of the 4 LAN ports. 
 
But  the WAN setup page only accepts one WAN IP-Address.  So when we put in  216.82.5.230, the outside world can HTTPS into one server, but we don't  know how to get them to HTTPS to the second server when the other staff  uses 216.82.5.231.
 
In  summary, how to use the RV110W admin panel to forward the  HTTPS/SSL traffic from 216.82.5.230 to one server (setup internally on  192.168.10.20), and the HTTPS/SSL traffic from 216.82.5.231 to the other  server (setup internally on 192.168.20.20 using the VLAN setup on this  router)?

if possible with the RV042.Primary External IP address uses port forwards for some ports, all okay.I would like to have other external ip addresses assigned to machines on my lan.Basic host multiple web servers, on different IP addresses, using port 80. [code]
 
From what i am reading, it looks like the RV042 can do this, but I am not real clear what my rules should look like.
 
I would think my high priority rule for each external IP address would be to deny all traffic first for each machine on the lan.Then create one entry with source 202.x.x.2 port 80 -> 192.168.168.2 ?
 
How should I set my rules to do this, and what settings should I have on the Nic of the second machine?

I have 2 Vlans with seperate networks and want to create a route between one server in vlan 465 to another server in vlan 436 via port 80.Vlan 465 has a ASA 5505 inside that IP address 89.254.12.35 will be initiating the connection to address 10.200.1.213.
 
-Vlan 465: server address 10.200.1.213
-Vlan 436: server address 89.254.12.35
 
However for extended security I would like to restrict the firewall opening to an IP to IP opening.

I have the following situation. A colleagues installed a spam block (Norton something) and he put two ip's on itsinterfaces. 192.168.2.20 and 192.68.2.21. One will be used to receive and one to send mail but both on port 25. They use a sinlge real IP 175.75.67.32. I am using a 5540 ASA with 8.2 IOS.
 
I am pretty sure this cannot happen but i got some advice to NAT the outgoing IP/Port and then PAT the incoming port to both IP's and it will work. I tried to do it with no success. I know that  ASA 8.4 changes everything in NAT/PAT but is there any way with the newer OS my setup can work or not?

Cisco Firewall :: NAT Only Working For Some IP Addresses On 5505

I'm trying to get a new 5505 installed in our network to replace the 1841 that died over the past few days (memory issues).  One of the big pieces of functionality that the old router gave us was the ability to open certain ports to the outside world to let clients see web sites we were working on for them or let employees RDP in to their work machines.  I'm having trouble getting that working properly with the new device.
 
After a lot of trial and error, I finally got some ports working, but only for some IP addresses.  In theory, Comcast (our ISP) is routing 13 IP addresses to our device (a.b.c.177 through 189).  For historical reasons, the external IP of the device is .178.  Only those NAT entries for .177, .178 and .179 are currently working. I've attached the configuration of the ASA, as well as the configuration of the old 1841.  As far as I know, Comcast's equipment is doing its job, so I don't have a lot of reason to question that end of it.  And it was working with the 1841 in place before its untimely demise.
 
One note - I am also having trouble getting the VPNs working, so they are a work in progress.  That will account for some of the differences in the configs.

trying to configure our ASA 5505 (hence my request for the ASDM). However, I can go CLI if push comes to shove.
 
What I'm trying to do is allow a range of IP addresses on the inside interface (those which the DHCP server is doling out IPs which are XXX.X.XXX.14-140) to access email only (which is hosted offsite). They still need to access the file servers which are on the inside but nothing should be going out to the internet other than email.
 
I believe I have to create a Network Object which contains the IP range I wish to restrict. I can see where I add the Network Object but I don't know what the syntax should be to specify the address range.
 
I'm also not sure what the sequence of the ACLs should be and whether or not I can keep the default Access Rules in place. There are the two implicit rules: 1) Permit any traffic out to less secure networks  2) Deny any traffic to anywhere (which is superceded by rule 1, yes?)
 
To create an Access Rule like the one I desire, do I need to move the two existing rules down the list so that the new one will supercede both implicit rules?

We have a working config with 1 external IP, we need to a second webserver (https) and it should be routed via a second public IP address. I already tried some suggestions from the community but haven't been able to find the solutions.
 
xxx.xxx.xxx.194 is going to the internal IP of 192.168.60.1 for OWA (https)
xxx.xxx.xxx.195 should go to a new webserver on 192.168.60.3

I've configured a 5505 but internal clients can't ping external ip. To test I've connect a pc with the ip of the default router on the Outside int the ASA can ping the PC and the PC can ping the ASA, but internal clients can't ping the PC

Does the ASA 5505 will allow the addition of a 2nd external link to its configuration? I know the device is capable of Redundant or Backup ISP Links, but that’s not what I need. I will have two different links for two different purposes. Currently we are using the ASA 5505 just for Internet access, so only the ISP link is connected, very basic configuration. We are planning a connection to a client’s global (MPLS) network and we need to be protected against any traffic coming from that network, ergo we need to use a firewall for connection to that external link.Now with the final configuration the Internet traffic must keep being routed to the ISP link, and some other traffic must be routed to the new external link. Can the ASA 5505 be configured for this scenario?

We have one pair Cisco ASA 5505 located in different location and there are two point to point links between those two locations, one for primary link (static route w/ low metric) and the other for backup (static route w/ high metric). The tracked options is enabled for monitoring the state of the primary route. the detail parameters regarding options as below,

Threshold: 3000 milliseconds     Tos: 0
Time out: 3000 milliseconds          Number of Packets: 8

I'm not sure if the setting is so sensitive that the secondary static route begins to work right away, even when some small link flappings occur. What is the best practice to set those parameters up in the production environment. How can we specify the reasonanble monitoring options to fit our needs.

I want to know with an ASA 5505 w/ Security Plus License I get up to 20 VLANS/Named Interfaces.I have a customer that is getting a new subnet of external IP addresses from their service provider and a different default gateway to accomodate re-hosting their datacenter at their main office instead of at a Colo. My question, when building out their new DMZ, can I have multiple route 0.0.0.0 commands?
 
Example.
 
Current Default Gateway 1.1.1.X
 
Internal hosts 192.168.1.0 use and are natted to 1.1.1.X
 
New Default Gateway for DMZ Servers 2.2.2.x
 
Internal hosts still use 1.1.1.X, but server hosts in 192.168.1.3 should use 2.2.2.X -- there are also a bunch of pre-existing static NAT rules for these servers such as 2.2.2.30 translates to 192.168.1.30.
 
I think I would accomplish this by using the following:
 
route inside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 1.1.1.X
route DMZ 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 2.2.2.x
 
Would this be correct?

We have a ASA 5505 and a 5510, that we are using site to site.I need to traceroute from the 5505-5510.. From the outside interfaces.. Don't want to do this through the site-to-site.I have temporarily added a few acl on the outside interfaces.when i traceroute it only goes one hop.. Maybe thats the way it suppose to be? I need to know all the hops between the outside interfaces on the 5505 to the outside interface on the 5510.

I have ASA 5505 Firewall with security plus license, I configured two V LAN 1 and V LAN 5 as my inside V LAN for different sub net, i need to route the traffic between this two V LAN's through ASA. I configured

The problem is i am not able to ping other sub net, for ex my PC is in V LAN 1 not able to ping 192.168.22.1 ... For troubleshoot i type debug icmp trace while pinging other subnet

(I haven't done it in 5 years so I'm rusty and just want ot make sure.) I have an old ASA 5505, and I'm having some trouble with Nat Hairpinning. I've done this with other firewalls before and I am having no luck now. I have an internal address that I wish to forward from an external address- so if someone goes to 123.456.789.012:3456 then it will forward to 192.168.1.244:92 (All numbers are arbitrary here- only for illustration). I have and Access Rule and NAT and PAT set up so that I can get in if I originate from outside the LAN. What I am trying to do is to have this work from inside the LAN as well- so that if I am at my desk, and I connect a device and type in 123.456.789.012:3456, it will deliver the content at 192.168.1.244:92. The problem I am having is that it just isn't working, and I cannot figure out why- When I started here, there was an address configured to work this way, and it still works- I just cannot find what is different between what I am doing and what the person who configured it did.

I have set up a private domain network at home. I have a domain controller, a DNS server, and a DHCP server all running on one Windows 2003 Server machine. I have about 10 other machines around the house, getting their IP addresses from this DHCP server.

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 router.

I am about to get 5 public IP addresses from my ISP, and I would like to make some of these machines publicly accessible (while still accessible from the other machines in the network).

I found this link that says on my web server (one of the public machines), that I should use a second NIC and set that up to connect to my router (and get a private IP address from my DHCP server).

Cisco Firewall :: Upgrade ASA 5505 IPBase 8.2.1 To 8.2.5 Broke External Printer

I have a printer sitting on an outside interface e0/7 that external vendors were able to print to prior to an ISP IP address change and IOS upgrade.
 
We upgraded our IOS from 8.2.1 to 8.2.5. The printer wasn't changed so the MAC address mapping is still correct on the ISP translation list. The ISP issues DHCP MAC reservations for static IP address assignment. My printer doesn't seem to be getting the DHCP assignment now.           
 
Here is the before and after config. I'm just wondering since this worked prior to changeing the IP and IOS changes if there is another command I need since upgrading from 8.2.1 to 8.2.5. The DHCP IP address is assigned and is working on my e0/0 vlan2 outside interface.

On an 887VA running 15.x IOS, is there a way to support both public and private addresses on inside vlans? The outside interface is public static ip, so the requirement would be to not nat anything if coming from inside vlan10 but nat if coming from inside vlan20.I didn't think this was possible since the outside interface would have to use an outside nat command that would not be ignored for traffic coming from vlan10.

I have a issue that i am at a loss as how to solve it. I have an ASA 5505 as my firewall. I have users from other companies who visit from time to time and are unable to use their outlook email to send messages. They can however receive messages without a problem. I also have a situation where users who use windows live to access gmail are unable to send messages.
 
I have narrowed it down to the fact that these uses are using  ssl/tls to send the mails. I did some research and found out about the inspect esmtp setting in the ASA.  I have disabled it and i still have to problem. I have also removed all outbound deny statements and still no luck.
 
Of note is that i can send emails without attachments. They take a long time to go out ( from minutes to hours) but eventually they do. Emails with attachments of even 10k do not go at all.
 
I was running image 8.2.3 and i downgraded to 8.0.5...still did not work...i upgraded to 8.4.3...still did not work. I am now back at 8.2.3.
 
My Firewall config is attached. I am at my wits end as to what else to try. The company has not renewed support for the device so i am on my own here!

I have a cable modem internet connection and my cable modem is connected to an ASA 5505.  The inside interface of the ASA has an IP address of 192.168.2.2 and is connected to a Linksys router's internet port which has an IP address of 192.168.2.1.  The Linksys router then has a local area network of 192.168.1.0 and all my clients are on that network.  Everything is working fine except in my ASA logs all the traffic shows up as the router's external address which is 192.168.2.1.  I would like to see the 192.168.1.x address of the clients in the ASA firewall.  I've tried making some changes to the Linksys router but that hasn't resolved it.  Is there any changes I can make on the ASA to get this to work?
