Cisco Firewall :: Configure ASA To Send All Traffic From (3) VLans To Interfaces That Connects To 2960?

Apr 18, 2013

I have a an ASA 5520 connected to a Layer 3 (3750) switch (Inside) and a connection to a 2960 switch (Outside) to get to the internet. . I have created vlan interfaces on the 3750 switch and enabled ip routing on the switch to enable the vlans to communicate with each other.

Vlan Interfaces on the switch:
Vlan 100 172.17.1
Vlan 200 172.18.1
Vlan 300 192.168.3.1

I want the devices connected to the 3 vlans to be able to pass through the firewall and get out to the internet.I have connected the ASA to the 3750 by routed interfaces (10.10.10.1) --------- (10.10.10.2) and they are able to ping each other.I have also put a default route on the 3750 sending all traffic from the switch to the ASA inside interface (10.10.10.1)The issue that i am having is that the ASA also connects to a 2960 which has a connection to the Internet, and they are handing off an ethernet connection from the 2960 that sits in VLAN 55 (Vlan 55 is the Internet accessible vlan). How do I configure my ASA to send all traffic from my (3) vlans to the interfaces that connects to the 2960 switch?

Cisco WAN :: 2960 / Block Traffic Under Two VLANs - Unidirectional Or Bidirectional

Aug 22, 2012

I have a Ciso L3 switch with 4 VLANs and all host computer connected to rest of 8 cisco 2960 switch's:

VLAN 1  : 192.168.1.0/24
VLAN 10: 192.168.10.0/24
VLAN 20: 192.168.20.0/24
VLAN 50: 192.168.30.0/24

There are list of my some Questions about Extended ACL serialwise :

1. For Restrict traffic from VLAN 10 to VLAN 20, I am using  only one ACL is : Access-list 100 deny ip 192.168.10.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.20.0 0.0.0.255.\  What will happen in this scenerio if we talk about traffic from VLAN 20 to VLAN 10. Will it communicate or not ???

2.   How to Block the traffic from VLAN 10  to  VLAN 20 but allow the traffic from VLAN 20  to  VLAN 10 ?

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5520 / 3560 - VLANs And Sub Interfaces

Aug 20, 2012

ASA's G0/2 interface is connected to G0/1 interface of a 3560G switch in DMZ, below is the config and diagram

Switch Config
int g0/1
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
int vlan 1
ip add 192.168.0.100 255.255.255.0

We are running out of IPs in 192.168.0.X network and planning on creating sub interfaces on the ASA and trunk it to the switch so that we can have multiple V LANs in DMZ. Tried the below config in LAB but that didn't work, can you have a look at it and let me know if I miss anything. No change on the switch config since G0/1 is already a trunk port.

ASA Config
interface GigabitEthernet0/2
description Trunk to DMZ networks
no nameif dmz
[code]...

If I change the V LAN on the switch from 1 to a different V LAN, say V LAN 50 for example, and configure the ASA accordingly its working fine.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 5520 Configure Traffic Flow Between Computers Inside VLANs And Routed Port

Jul 7, 2012

How to configure traffic flow between  computers inside VLANs and a routed port? Here is the setup details:

1. Switch 3750-X
2. VLAN 100 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.100.1 /24)
3. VLAN 200 - ( SVI IP address 192.168.200.1 /24)
4. routed port gi1/0/48 (IP address 192.168.150.1 /24). Note: this port is directly connected to a firewall ASA 5520 port IP 192.168.150.100 /24

Ip routing is enabled on the switch and inter vlan traffic is flowing ok. I can ping the routed port gi1/0/48 from  any computer connected in the VLAN 100 or 200. For example computer with IP 192.168.100.25 can ping the routed port 192.168.150.1. Switch can ping firewall port 192.168.150.100 and the 'sh ip route' command shows the network 192.168.150.0 /24 as directly connected network.

any computer in the two VLANs CANNOT ping firewall ASA port 192.168.150.100   Is it because inter VLAN routing does not work with a routed port on L3 switch? I looked up fallback bridging, but it is meant for non IP traffic. The goal is I am trying to set the ASA port as an internet gateway for VLANs.

Cisco Firewall :: 5520 VPN Traffic Between Interfaces

Jun 12, 2011

Our ASA 5520 firewall is running 8.0(4) IOS.I have an internal L2L VPN terminating on my firewall (from an internal remote site) on ENG interface. With the default "sysopt connection permit-vpn" command enabled, VPN traffic is allowed to bypass the ENG interface acl.The security level on the ENG interface is set at 50.The security level on the destination interface PRODUCTION is set at 40.Inbound VPN traffic bypasses ENG interface acl and since higher-to-lower security level allows VPN traffic to flow freely from ENG to PRODUCTION, it seems the only place to check/filter VPN traffic is an ACL placed on the PRODCTTION interface and set at INBOUND (outbound VPN traffic).

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5505 Traffic Flow Between Interfaces

Jun 13, 2012

I am fairly new to configuring ASA's. I have an ASA 5505 with one outside interface and three inside interfaces (inside1, inside2, and management). I need inside1 and inside2 to be able to talk to eachother but cannot work out how to make this happen. They are both configured to the same security level and the 'Enable traffic between interfaces with same security level' box is ticked. I have also tried adding appropriate NAT and Access rules. The packet tracer suggests the rules are correct for allowing traffic flow between interfaces but obviosly this may not be the case.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5505 - With Two Trusted Interfaces / Traffic Not Going Out Of Inside2?

Nov 14, 2011

I'm going nuts with this ASA5505. This is a secondary firewall used only in emergencies when the primary Checkpoint failes.

The basics, it has two trusted interfaces, E0/1 and E0/2-6. E0/1, inside2 has 192.168.01/29 and inside is 192.168.200.1/24.  I'd like any traffic to be allowed from inside and inside2 to outside and any traffic from the inside interfaces should be routed. No restrictions should apply between the two interfaces.

inside works just fine but no traffic is going out of inside2, not to outside or to inside.

Cisco Firewall :: Can't Get Traffic Flowing Between VLANs On ASA 5505

Aug 20, 2012

I've got an ASA 5505 with the Security Plus license that I'm trying to configure.

So far I have setup NATing on two VLANs, one called 16jda (VLAN 16 - 10.16.2.0/24) and one called 16jdc (VLAN 11 - 10.105.11.0/24).

From each subnet I am able to connect to the internet, but I need these subnets to also be able to talk to each other.

I have each VLAN interface at security level 100 and enabled "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface", and I have setup static NAT mappings between the two subnets, but they still can't communicate.

When I try to ping there is no reply and the only log message is: 6     Aug 21 2012     09:00:54     302020     10.16.2.10     23336     10.105.11.6     0     Built inbound ICMP connection for faddr 10.16.2.10/23336 gaddr 10.105.11.6/0 laddr 10.105.11.6/0

Cisco Infrastructure :: ASA 3750 Firewall To Control Traffic Between VLANs

Jan 20, 2013

We have a data center with servers set up for different projects, some servers from partner companies and several small LANs. The traffic between all those needs to be controlled and firewalled. The servers and LANs are divided into different subnets and VLANs. Physically, their traffic is aggregated on a couple of 4506 and then sent to a FreeBSD server, where the logical gateways are set up and traffic is filtered between them. The BSD server is dying and having it there is incorrect in the first place, so we are planning to replace it with two ASA (5520) in failover. The question that arises is how to correctly implement firewalling between VLANs. Originally we thought to set up the firewalls in transparent mode and logically terminate VLANs on a stack of 3750 switches behind them, but would that filter the traffic between the VLANs? Then we thought to perhaps terminate the VLANs on the ASAs, use routing mode, and do filtering there, as well. Or should we implement multiple contexts? We have about 20 VLANs and all of them differ in rules of what should go there. None of this can be concidered an "inside" - trusted - zone, nor "outside". Internet and external links are connected and filtered in a different place.

Cisco :: 2951 - Interfaces Send Netflow Data Despite No Flow Config Under Interface

Aug 17, 2011

Cisco 2951 w/ HWIC-4ESW
IOS 15.0(1)M5
#sh ip flow int
Vlan533
ip flow ingress
ip flow egress
#

The SVI sends the flow data just fine, however I also continue to receive flow data from most other interfaces.

I have attached a screenshot of one of our netflow collectors indicating that many of the interfaces are sending flow data even though not configured to do so. We have two different netflow collectors, from different vendors and both confirm the same interfaces sending flow data.

Normally I wouldn't care and ignore it, however one of them uses a license limit by interface and is a bit problematic.

Cisco Wireless :: 5508 WLC Designing - Interfaces And VLans

Oct 8, 2012

just have  few questions about designing WLC 5508

The  scenario is  that currently one of the client has a firewall Tie ring T1 internet facing and T2 internal which has multiple DMZ connected.

T2 firewall has a DMZ switch connected which has a router which connects to MPLS cloud to different site across the country. (around 10 sites) all static routing.

Now the client is thinking to deploy wireless at all 10 sites using H-REAP. The issue is that client has only one WLC and they are not willing to buy other as i was thinking to deploy two WLC one for corporate and one for guest users. (one in internal network and on in DMZ)

Now my question is as follow.

1- Keeping in mind that there is only one WLC where should i physically put it?
2- How guest users will work ? How the authentication will be done?
3-There are 8 SFP ports in WLC how physical topology will look like?
4-How many Vlans i have to make for wirless users  will that be 10? (1 at each site) ?

my last question is that how these ports work on WLC are they just like switch e.g  one port can be assigned to different vlan....just confuse about interfaces and vlans on WLC (interfaces concept)

Cisco Firewall :: ASA5580 - How To Configure Traffic Flow Idle Time-out With CSM

Feb 16, 2012

I am looking for the way to define an idle timeout for specific flows on an ASA5580 by using Cisco security manager. For ex I needed to define a specific idle timeout for connections beetween specific devices (Devices in vlan1, Device2 in vlan2).To test it I did following changes by CLI and it works fine.     access-list L1 extended permit ip <@IP1> <mask1> host <@IP2>    class-map CM1        match access-list L1    policy-map PM1        class CM1        set connection timeout idle 02:00:00

I try do do the same configuration with CSM in order to be able to manage each changes only by using CSM.So I defined  Access control list, Traffic flow and then I define timeout in CSM --> PIX/ASA/FWSM Platform --> Service Policy Rules  --> IPS, QoS and Connections Rules -> connections settings -> Traffic flow idle time-out. The problem is that each time I deploy the configuration with CSM I loose the timeout config line which is the most important for my application..

Cisco Firewall :: Configure ASA 5510 For Individual Server Traffic Routing

Jan 27, 2013

I am wondering if this is possible. We have multiple internet connections with fixed IP's coming into the office. We'd like to use one for FTP backup and another to service our websites. From what i have read a 5510 doesn't do policy based routing, but we'd like to configure our ftp server to use one of the internet pipes and our webserver to use another internet pipe. Is that possible?

We'd have two outside fixed IP interfaces and two internal interfaces. I could then use one of the internal interfaces for the web server and the other for the FTP server. consequently if the internal web server and FTP server use the fixed IP"s corresponding DNS server wouldn't that effectively route all FTP traffic out one interface and all web traffic out the other?

Then the FTP traffic would be NAT'ed to an internal interface and the HTTP & HTTPS traffic would be NAT'ed to a separate internal interface.

Then if each of the internal servers used the corresponding internal NIC on the ASA as it's gateway and the fixed IP's that correspond to the external DNS server, then it would affectively only use that gatway out for traffic? Would that work? Does it should route traffic out those pipes correct? Will the asa support two different next hop routers for the two different interfaces?
