I've tried listing FB IP address ranges (the 66s, 69s and the 204s) in Access Control and under IP Range Block Rules, and using the schedule page to set an access schedule. Everything looks reasonable but we can all still access FB. What am I missing? I think I found all the IPs for FB, maybe not? Not truly clear if the schedule is for times to block or times to access.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to block Facebook on a WRT160N firmware v3.0.00. I have a successful policy that blocks edit.com for instance and attempted to add url... I don't want to add keyword blocking as multiple news articles are in regards to Facebook. We simply do not want the Facebook website allowed. I tested the other policies on a network-wide setting, applying it to all IPs successfully, added Facebook to them and it goes right around the block. My guess is that Facebook is most likely designed to make it purposely difficult to block.
I went through the recent articles in search, but they primarily dealt with incorrect application of the policy (spec'ing MAC, or IPs), which isn't the case here. Eventually I will apply the policies to specific Macs, but I want them to work first.
Can you suggest me how to block facebook, gmail, yahoo in cisco wireless router Model No;-WRT610N version 2

The attached settings block facebook as desired during the filter times but after 6:30pm the filter expires and the entire internet is blocked (not just facebook). All of my browsers act as if they are hanging and won't load pages until I disable the filter.
I've also tried creating two different filters (one at a time). The first allowed full internet access all the time and the second allowed access the opposite times of the work filter. But to no avail.
On E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
We have an ASA-5505 running 8.2(1) with a Bosch DVR 600. When a machine is on the local subnet, it can see the video; however, when it's moved to the DMZ, the unit can be accessed, but all video screens are black and an java script error pops up as follows: URl This message does not pop up when on the local subnet. Additionally, in the login screen, there is a language selection, and sometimes all languages are blanked out. There is a space for them, but they don't display. I've tried this on a half a dozen machines, either XP or Win7 with IE8 and IE9, and they all do the same thing. I disabled http inspection, but that doesn't work. I also did a packet capture, and the only packets that traverse the ASA.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a client that is running a PC on a internet over satellite. To avoid any unessecery traffic over the satellite link (data traffic is quite expensive), we've suggested to use a 5505, as we had one handy already.
So basically what we wanted was to block everything outgoing and everything ingoing, except for example port 22 (ssh).
But I'm struggling a bit, since this is my first cisco router to be configured.
My interfaces are as follows.
Outside - DHCP
Inside (port 1) - 192.168.1.1
I'm only running ipv4.
in ASDM I made a static NAT rule for port 22, being forwarded to 192.168.1.5 (the computer)
in Access rules I made under outside (incomming rules) source=any destination=outside service=ssh action=permit
But when I try to add further rules to block everything else, it takes the SSH on port 22 with it. How should I do this the easiest way?
the hardware setup is pretty straight forward.
sat-terminal(with IP 192.168.0.1 running DHCP) -> 5505 (outside IP=DHCP - inside IP=192.168.1.1) -> computer (IP=192.168.1.5)

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy web server is out of public IPs. I requested more from my ISP and I got a different range with a different gateway. How do I handle the configuration on my Cisco ASA? Without any configuration changes to the firewall I saw the traffic hitting it and being blocked. I added an access rule to allow the traffic. I added a virtual interface on the ASA. I added a virtual interface on the web server. Using "Packet Tracer" the traffic flows from the outside interface to the new virtual interface. But I'm unable to access my web server and I don't see any traffic on that IP reaching the web server.Using Cisco ASA 5510.
