I've tried listing FB IP address ranges (the 66s, 69s and the 204s) in Access Control and under IP Range Block Rules, and using the schedule page to set an access schedule. Everything looks reasonable but we can all still access FB. What am I missing? I think I found all the IPs for FB, maybe not? Not truly clear if the schedule is for times to block or times to access.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to block Facebook on a WRT160N firmware v3.0.00. I have a successful policy that blocks edit.com for instance and attempted to add url... I don't want to add keyword blocking as multiple news articles are in regards to Facebook. We simply do not want the Facebook website allowed. I tested the other policies on a network-wide setting, applying it to all IPs successfully, added Facebook to them and it goes right around the block. My guess is that Facebook is most likely designed to make it purposely difficult to block.
I went through the recent articles in search, but they primarily dealt with incorrect application of the policy (spec'ing MAC, or IPs), which isn't the case here. Eventually I will apply the policies to specific Macs, but I want them to work first.
i have a running ASA5520 with limited protocols allowed but my objective now is blocking all facebook games and still allowing facebook website.

The attached settings block facebook as desired during the filter times but after 6:30pm the filter expires and the entire internet is blocked (not just facebook). All of my browsers act as if they are hanging and won't load pages until I disable the filter.
I've also tried creating two different filters (one at a time). The first allowed full internet access all the time and the second allowed access the opposite times of the work filter. But to no avail.
On E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
Ive been trying to sign into facebook on my computer for a couple of days now. Once i have pressed log in with all my details it just goes to a blank page and then loads to a "you must sign in to view this" page - it doesnt matter how many times i put my details in and log in, it just keeps returning to this page. I have tried clearing all browser history and cookies, plus ive run virus scans and tried restarting but nothing works!

View 14 Replies View Relatedhow to block a user from using the internet when they plug their computer into a router. My roommate has refused to pay her share of the internet and, being a college student, I don't have enough money where I feel generous enough to let her have free internet after stiffing me. Basically, I have 2 routers at the moment (hoping to fix this soon): my Qwest modem works as a router but I also have a Linksys router connected to it. The only phone jack is in her room so I have no way of stopping her from plugging her computer straight into the modem and/or router. I've configured the wireless so that she would be unable to access the, wirelessly but I'd like to know how to prevent her accessing the internet when she plugs her computer directly into either component.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got two RV082's connected. Each has a dynamic IP (changes typically every few weeks). I've configured the tunnels on both ends with a local and remote "Remote/Local Security Gateway Type" of "Dynamic IP + Domain Name(FQDN) Authentication".If I look at the VPN Summary tunnel status, it shows an IP address of "mydomain.dyndns.org 0.0.0.0" under the "Remote Gateway" column heading. The Tunnel Test "Connect" button is N/A.I can resolve both of the mydomain.dyndns.org entries on both sides of each VPN using the Diagnostic DNS lookup tool within each router. If I hardwire a fixed IP address for the Local and Remote Gateway everything works just fine. VPN is good.
I just can't seem to get the "mydomain.dyndns.org" function to work. It appears the router can't resolve the dynamic IP from the domain names on each of the routers.
I replace our aging rv082 routers with wireless rv220w routers. The gateway to gateway vpn works great, however I am no longer able to manage our print servers port 80 management page. I can ping any host with success, and I can manage hosts that have a port 10000 or 8000 web interface - but no port 80 ones... I had no issues when using the old rv082 routers...
View 0 Replies View RelatedI picked up a pair of RV220W's and before I spent loads of time at a remote site, I figured I'd go through some VPN testing at home to make sure I could get it setup properly. What this means is I've plugged the Internet uplink into a switch, then from the switch into both routers & configured them (using unique static IP's for each) from there. For what its worth: While I have some IT experience, I don't have strong networking experience.
I setup several VLAN's on the local RV220W, and the end result is to make it so that an asset at the remote site with an IP in any of the ranges (192.168.121.0/24, 192.168.131.0/24, 192.168.141.0/24 and any future VLANs) can communicate with/access resouces at the local site. Likewise, an asset at the local site with an IP in any of the ranges (.121, .131, .141 + any future VLANs) should be able to reach the remote resources (currently just 192.168.181.0/24, but future VLANs as well).
This evening I tried to focus on the relevant VPN pages of the Administration Guide to get the VPN up. Leaving the defaults I got as far as establishing a link between both sites and it seems that things are working right: From the remote site (.181) I can access the local site (.121, .131, .141); and from the local site I can at least ping resources (a laptop) on the remote site. (Yay!)
However, when I physically connected an asset that had a 192.168.121.X, 192.168.131.X and 192.168.141.X IP addresses to the remote RV220W (which is 192.168.181.0/24), I couldn't see it from the remote or local sites.I assume this is expected. But I'm reaching out to the community to see what other possibilities might be available becuase networking is a weak area for me. I figured it might be something like a Static [or Dynamic] Route but I really am not 100% sure.

I recently swapped out an RV082 with a newer model (still RV082 but black and a different interface). I configured the Gateway to Gateway VPN exactly as it was before but none of the three other RV082's will connect. I have tried deleting the connections several times to no avail. I have aggressive mode disabled and have tried with the firewall on and off. Below are the settings (IP's have been X'd out) and the log.
