View 9 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to block Facebook on a WRT160N firmware v3.0.00. I have a successful policy that blocks edit.com for instance and attempted to add url... I don't want to add keyword blocking as multiple news articles are in regards to Facebook. We simply do not want the Facebook website allowed. I tested the other policies on a network-wide setting, applying it to all IPs successfully, added Facebook to them and it goes right around the block. My guess is that Facebook is most likely designed to make it purposely difficult to block.
I went through the recent articles in search, but they primarily dealt with incorrect application of the policy (spec'ing MAC, or IPs), which isn't the case here. Eventually I will apply the policies to specific Macs, but I want them to work first.
Can you suggest me how to block facebook, gmail, yahoo in cisco wireless router Model No;-WRT610N version 2
View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to block sites like facebook during my workday but allow the rest of the internet.
The attached settings block facebook as desired during the filter times but after 6:30pm the filter expires and the entire internet is blocked (not just facebook). All of my browsers act as if they are hanging and won't load pages until I disable the filter.
I've also tried creating two different filters (one at a time). The first allowed full internet access all the time and the second allowed access the opposite times of the work filter. But to no avail.
On E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.

I've tried listing FB IP address ranges (the 66s, 69s and the 204s) in Access Control and under IP Range Block Rules, and using the schedule page to set an access schedule. Everything looks reasonable but we can all still access FB. What am I missing? I think I found all the IPs for FB, maybe not? Not truly clear if the schedule is for times to block or times to access.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have fiber optic net, going into a TP Link 1043 ND router out in my garage. All of the 4 lan ports go into one of the rooms in the house. I also have two more routers of the same kind, one downstairs and one upstairs. They are configured in a way, that DHCP server is only turned on, on the one in the garage, the other two act as switches. My problem is that 50 % of the time I can't acces facebook, and some other random sites. The interesting bit is that when I chat with someone on FB, I can see what they write, but my message doesn't go through. The way it goes, is that I can browse on facebook for like 5 minutes, after that its unavailable for another 5 minutes.I can still access the site from my smartphone, but only if its not connected to the wifi network, meaning the problem is somewhere within my setup.I've already tried turning the router firewall off, but that doesn't make any difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the WRT310N v2 and having been having an issue with the Facebook games for the past week. I can logon to facebook just fine, but when I try to go into a game or accept gift requests, nothing works and the page always times out. However, when I disconnect the modem cable from the router and plug it in directly to the desktop, everything works fine. All other websites (Shockwave and Pogo) work just fine, but just Facebook has the problem when the router is connected.
I went through all the settings for the router. Nothing is blocked and everything is in fine working order. The only thing I noticed was that there was a firmware update to 2.0.01 which I did, and still the problem remains. I've made sure that there are no restrictions on IE or Chrome as well. I first thought that the router was crapping out, but have since disregarded that.
I've been using my WRT310Nv2 Cisco wireless Gigabit N router for 2 weeks now, and sometimes, it's blocking access to Facebook.comI am not aware if it does the same thing with other websites, but my guess is that if I fix this one, I'll fix them all. So here I go, I click on my Facebook icon in my bookmarks and all goes well. Then, a while after, Facebook doesn't respond anymore and I'm send to a page that says "this is probably not the webpage you are looking for!" and it goes on about someone probably trying to hack my Internet and so on. But it's impossible: my network is under a solid WPA/WPA 2 security access. So I try again and click on the FB icon, and it shows me this:
"Invalid URL
The requested URL "/", is invalid.

I have an E2000, and I connect wirelessly through my Macbook. When I use the internet on any laptop I connect to the router (not just the Mac) I can't log in to Facebook, Amazon, Ebay, Hotmail, or any other site, and Google image pages only load halfway. In certain websites I try to use I cannot click anything at all. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in, and I have tried resetting the router.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having an issue when trying to connect to Facebook since last week. Whenever I try to get in the webpage I get a time out error message, on any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE). I can reach every other website completely normal, and I can even connect to alternate forms of Facebook like m.facebook.com or beta.facebook.com, and the local site (I speak spanish) es-es.facebook.com allows me to see the login screen, but when accessing to anything else, it redirects me to the url...version, thus resulting in a time out. This problem started suddenly, after using this notebook with no trouble for more than a year .I should mention that this happens only in this machine, as there are others connected to the same network, and that I've tested this one in more than one network, from different ISP, by wi-fi and Ethernet cable, everything giving me same results.
- Tried different browsers.
- Two different networks and ISP, both by cable and wi-fi.
- ping'ed and tracert'ed facebook.com.
- Updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, practically anihilated and resucitated both wired and wireless NIC drivers.
- Made a complete system restoration to a week before this started.
- Changed MAC Address from both wired and wireless NICs.
- Completely turned off every firewall.
- Tried Google Public DNS for both IPv4 and iPv6.
- Ran antivirus.
Cannot Launch www.facebook.com it say " Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.facebook.com "

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy question relates to Facebook and the Internet in general. There are some very inappropriate pictures of me that are posted on a fake facebook user account. Whoever posted these pictures has stolen the identity of a guy that I went to school with. The Police are involved. I tried contacting Facebook multiple times, but I had no such luck. Is there any way that I can find out the ISP of this fake account, find out if these pictures were uploaded to the www. and request for them to be removed? What other actions can I take to get these pictures taken down. It has now become very serious, and these pictures are from 6 years ago when I was a little immature teenager.
