Routers / Switches :: WAN Connection Timeout Frequently On Cisco 1812
Aug 9, 2012At the moment I am trying to connect to a DHCP ISP, but the connection only last for 10-15mins and then it will automatically disconnected. Every time I reset the WAN port , service back to normal for another 10-15 mins >< The are no log or any error message when connection timeout. the status of the WAN port is normal "Up Up"I have tried this config on another ISP and everything work just fine!!!

Cisco VPN :: DUAL DMVPN On 1812 Routers?
Nov 1, 2011I have 5 cisco 1812 routers that i set up in a hub-spoke dmvpn configuration between 5 sites. All routers have a secondary internet connection . Could i set up a second tunnel interface on each router to create a backup dmvpn that will use this secondary internet connection? i use EIGRP for routing.

Cisco Infrastructure :: 3560x Switches Died After Working Normally
Dec 5, 2012We just got many 3560x switches for a project. Curiously and in a very rate event (at least for me ) 4 of them died after workijg normally. 3 for some days and the last one for 3 weeks.Power supplies are ok and light up, they work on other switches, fans dont start kn the damagdd switch but work in ither switches.Syslog server doesnt show anything. It just goes puff. They are brand new switches biught one month ago from official channek distributor.

Jul 27, 2011A customer is expanding their network into another wing, and they have a good number of existing Small Business switches (specifically the SGE-2010P - [URL] that they're interested in possibly deploying. They have a full-blown Cisco infrastructure and voice deployment (Cat 6500 core switches, 3750 switch stacks, Communications Manager w/ over 1,000 phones, etc.).
The general concern is whether there is ANY known issues or concerns with trying to mix/integrate the Small Business equipment with non-SMB infrastructure. Looking at the datasheet for this switch, it's clearly PoE, supports QoS, although it doesn't specifically indicate it can provide a voice/auxiliary VLAN for a phone detected by CDP - that would be a big deal. So basically, "a switch is a switch", and I'm just posing this question to make sure there's no reason (technically or from a support standpoint) that we would not recommend integrating these.

Apr 11, 2013I am trying to test (if possible) the idea of having 2 6509-E switches connected directly to each other while using VRF-lite (Sup 2T). The idea is to have 3-4 separate networks. For example Net-A, Net-B,Net-C, Net-D. There is no PE router*, just these two switches. Also, there sin't any other access layer switches. All users connect directly to the 6509-E's via switch 48 port switch blades.
Net-A and Net-B on separate VRF's, but able to talk to each other. Net-C and Net-D* on separate VRF's without being able to talk to any other. Net-D* will have a PE since it comes from an external network. This is something I would like to test in a lab environment, but I am not familiar with VRF's.

Jul 19, 2012I have a 100mbps internet connection from my ISP but once the connection hits the ASA the download speed gets reduced to 15mbps. My network is setup as follows: ISP Modem ---- Edge Switch ----- ASA --- Internal Cisco Switches
If I plug my computer into an extra port on the Edge Switch I get speeds around 92mbps with normal traffic still going to the ASA. But when I plug into the ASA and internal switches I have speeds of 15mbps.
I have made sure that duplex/speed match on the links. I have done packet captures and within two minutes I do have several dup acks and retransmissions. The retransmissions don't seem to match the dup acks. (The retransmission is not for the dup ack requested so the dup ack keeps being resent)
The only interface error is on the inside interface which includes 700 overruns in a weeks worth of time.I am not using an IPS/IDS. I do have several vpns on it but was not going through a vpn tunnel. I am also using NAT.I am using an ASA 5510 8.2(1)

Mar 21, 2012We have deployed a number of 800 series routers for some of our clients and have found that in many cases they seem to disconnect at an excessive rate. When I connected to the console of one the other day I could see that the virtual-interface for the ADSL connection was down, but not the ATM or DSL interface. If I disconnected the cable and reconnected the virtual-circuit came back up momentarily before disconnecting within a minute.
If I switched off the router for a few minutes and powered it back on it would usually remain up for a few hours. I reconfigured the router again using exactly the same config and it seemed to stay up for quite long periods for 4 or 5 days before reverting to type. [code]

I only have one machine with a serial port and whenever I try to connect to a router (I've tried multiple purchased from different sources) nothing happens on the screen. If I wait for a couple of seconds and hit enter I get the response shown on the screen in the screenshot I have inserted. If this image is too small I have also attached. looks like it has already asked me this but I am unable to see it. Shouldn't I see some information when I attempt to connect, some acknowledgement that I have connected? I have tried using both hyperterminal anbd PuTTy.

Cisco Wireless :: 1812 - No Association After Upgrade From 15.1 To 15.2
Sep 19, 2012I just upgraded a 1812w from 15.1 to 15.2 and did NOT change any configs/passwords or anything else.
My WiFi Clients are not able to associate any more. Failure is:

I can't find either a WLAN-configuration guide for 15.2.

Cisco Firewall :: 1812 - IPV6 - ZBF Not Working
Jan 28, 2012I'm having several issues with IPv6 and ZBF. I've narrowed one of them to a very simple setup. I tried 15.1(4)M in GNS2 and 15.1(4)M3 on a 1812.
The setup is
[PC] ----- [R1] ------ [R2]
R1 and R2 are interconnected by IPv6 only and there is a tunnel over that link to carry IPv4 from R2 to PC.
And I'm trying to ping PC from R2 with IPv4. We're looking at the R1 config mainly. (the other are included for completeness)
When I try to ping the PC from R2, I get this on R1 console:
%FW-6-DROP_PKT: Dropping icmp session [::]:0 [::]:0 on zone-pair zp_vpn_to_lan class cm_icmp with ip ident 0
Which really doesn't make much sense because zone vpn and zone lan are purely IPv4 and should never see IPv6 traffic as such ...
If I remove all ZBF related config, then traffic flows without problem.

I'd like to use this as an out-of-band connection to a remote site, if the primary internet connection fails. So, this setup will only be used in one direction, 1 router placing calls, the other one receiving calls.Here's my config of the receiving router:

This config is working fine, when dialing in via a Windows Hyperterminal Dial connection. After a while of dialing I get the login prompt of the router.Now I want to have a router placing calls instead of a Windows Server. I can't figure out how to tell a router to place calls to a POTS phone number.

Jun 15, 2011We are trying to get a video conference system (POLYCOM) up running. Thrue a Cisco 1812 router with Firewall feature set.
I Have heard in the past that there should be issues with Polycom and Cisco, but have actually never seen it.I can establish a video call from inside the 1812 to outside.
But when I try from outside to the public ip adress there is nattet to, then it reach the video system and die straight after, so there is never any video session set up.
I have tried to remove everything regarding firewall feature and passing true, so the only thing the 1812 should do is NAT. And still the same.
I can not see anything in the log on the router from the ACL's where I permittet everything, other then it connect on the port TCP 1720, as it should. This is the software I'm running on the router:
Cisco IOS Software, C181X Software (C181X-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
When I search Google, it look like there is a lot issues with Cisco and Polycom, but I have not found any concret solution. Other then I should use a ADSL line with a public IP address. As we probably is going to do.
