l have my term server 2511 and l was tryng to recovery the password but at the rommon mode, l cannot have any access even when l do confreg 0x2142

What those this mean. l when to all process still cannot do this.

I couldn't recover my password so I just created a new account.I just recently bought the ASUS RT-N16 since I switched to a different ISP that provided only a modem.
The problem: Some computers in the house will connect no problem to the network and without trouble. Other computers will be able to connect to the network but it will be restricted. When you go to the internet browser it shows an Asus logo and says: "the cable for ethernet is not plugged in". All the computers are wireless and in fact I am writing this while connected to the RT-N16 (wirelessly). Also, sometimes a computer will boot, I will go into the browser, it will show me that message, I unplug the RT-N16, plug it back in and the internet works again. This happens everyday.
P.S. I would also like to note that I tried connecting to the internet network with a nexus and it showed me the same error while I tried connecting with a samsung galaxy S2 and everything worked just fine. Also we got like 5 computers at home and I'd say 1 computer always connects fine, some don't connect regardless of whether you restart the router or not and some computers work only when you restart the router so I have very mixed feelings about this one...
I have a Linksys wireless router, model WRT160N. My wife got a NUK for Christmas and I can't remember the password to include the NUK in my system. I called support and after sitting on hold for 1/2 hour the tech came on and told me for $29.99 I could get my password reset. I have a cisco 2960 switch. Trying to recover a password. Have tried several different ways to recover it. I have let the switch load completely, then pressing the mode button waiting for the light to turn amber and then green. I also have held the mode button down, plugged the switch back in until the mode light turns from amber to green. Either way I will type flash_init. Then when I type load_helper I get a invalid command response. The command load_helper isn't even listed.

the other similar resolutions on the cisco/other website but none of them works for the Cisco 4506 switch I have.
1. Reboot
2. Press the "CTRL + C" button on the laptop to put the router into ROMMON mode.Result: Works fine and gets into the ROMMON 1 mode.
3. confreg 0x2142Result: This one does not work. confreg=0x2142 and that command is accepted by the switch but it does not tell us that we have to restart to make the changes. Now it goes ROMMON 2 mode.
4. resetResult: I type reset and the switches seems to be power cycled but it again goes to the password prompt which I dont know and this is the password that I am trying to recover or break.
Can we use ACS 4.1 version recovery disc on 4.2 verison to recover the forgotten password.

I have my home lab with cisco 2511 and octal cables. I would like to be able to access the terminal server remotely via the internet when I'm not in. I'm concerned cause the wireless router is DHCP assigned IP. Even if I have a static IP on the ethernet port of the 2511 connected to the wireless router, I'm not sure if the NAT will work so it can be accessible from the internet.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2511 TS linked into my CCNP lab and configured it with default gateway pointing to my ADSL router. The TS has a staic local IP in my LAN also I have port forwarding set up on my ADSL router to direct all Telnet (not cofigured for ssh yet) sessions to the TS.
The TS is linked to the ADSL router via the transceiver module ( CentreCom AT-210TS) which feeds the ADSL router with ethernet connection.I have tried to access the TS from a remote location but with no joy, fortunately I also have it consoled to my PC so I SSH to the PC and then run my terminal emulator from there. Using SSH to the PC and then minicom to the TS when doe this way (Remote Location>Ubuntu>minicom>TS) I can see the ethernet interface has no MAC address when i do a sh internet eth 0 mac is set to 0000.0000.0000.
I don't want to be connecting via ssh to PC before accessing the TS but instead just want to connect to the TS; for the life of me I still can't explain what's going on.

This then booted us off the connection since we changed it, and since we didn't get the WEP key, we no longer can enter it in and connect to it.
