I have a cisco 2960 switch. Trying to recover a password. Have tried several different ways to recover it. I have let the switch load completely, then pressing the mode button waiting for the light to turn amber and then green. I also have held the mode button down, plugged the switch back in until the mode light turns from amber to green. Either way I will type flash_init. Then when I type load_helper I get a invalid command response. The command load_helper isn't even listed.

In an attempt to restore a Cisco IOS I deleted the file C2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-53.SE2.bin my swich
Before deleting the same was as follows:Directory of flash :/

l have my term server 2511 and l was tryng to recovery the password but at the rommon mode, l cannot have any access even when l do confreg 0x2142
He brings me tho this: transaction "CONFREG' domaine server (172.16.15.30) (172.44.244.10) (172.244.15.17).
What those this mean. l when to all process still cannot do this.

I couldn't recover my password so I just created a new account.I just recently bought the ASUS RT-N16 since I switched to a different ISP that provided only a modem.
The problem: Some computers in the house will connect no problem to the network and without trouble. Other computers will be able to connect to the network but it will be restricted. When you go to the internet browser it shows an Asus logo and says: "the cable for ethernet is not plugged in". All the computers are wireless and in fact I am writing this while connected to the RT-N16 (wirelessly). Also, sometimes a computer will boot, I will go into the browser, it will show me that message, I unplug the RT-N16, plug it back in and the internet works again. This happens everyday.
P.S. I would also like to note that I tried connecting to the internet network with a nexus and it showed me the same error while I tried connecting with a samsung galaxy S2 and everything worked just fine. Also we got like 5 computers at home and I'd say 1 computer always connects fine, some don't connect regardless of whether you restart the router or not and some computers work only when you restart the router so I have very mixed feelings about this one...

I have a Linksys wireless router, model WRT160N. My wife got a NUK for Christmas and I can't remember the password to include the NUK in my system. I called support and after sitting on hold for 1/2 hour the tech came on and told me for $29.99 I could get my password reset. Is there a way I could retrieve the password myself so I can avoid spending the money?

I tried the steps mentioned in the links below:

the other similar resolutions on the cisco/other website but none of them works for the Cisco 4506 switch I have.
1. Reboot
2. Press the "CTRL + C" button on the laptop to put the router into ROMMON mode.Result: Works fine and gets into the ROMMON 1 mode.
3. confreg 0x2142Result: This one does not work. confreg=0x2142 and that command is accepted by the switch but it does not tell us that we have to restart to make the changes. Now it goes ROMMON 2 mode.
4. resetResult: I type reset and the switches seems to be power cycled but it again goes to the password prompt which I dont know and this is the password that I am trying to recover or break.

To configure my Cisco, I use the console cable but as I have no serial port on my PC, I use a USB to serial cable which I plug the console. I had lost this USB cable -> serial but I found another one. So I started to configure my Cisco by copying from an existing config. I found out that a prior the converter is defective and copy the wrong config.
I had copied the enable secret password and it badly copied! No luck, I made a copy run start. Therefore more accessible to Cisco! When I start the Cisco, I see what activated "the Mechanism password-recovery is enabled". so I followed the procedure Cisco
I go flash_init: OK but when I type "load_helper" Unknown command it say to me .... I'm stuck!
The model is my Cisco: Cisco WS-C2960G-24TS-S

I have a Catalyst 2960 switch (2960-8TC-L) and running Software version 12.2(53)SE1.I mange to configure SSH to the switch and add addition user as well.Now I need to configure this switch password less log in with public key SSH authentication.
I configured several Linux servers and Workstations for the public key SSH authentication.So far I could not figure out how to do this in CISCO switch. Following link {URL} how to do this.But ip ssh pub key- chain command never work showed invalid command.

One of my engineers issued a command to turn off port security on a number of ports using the range command. The command failed on the first attempt due to a tacacs auth failure which I suspect is due to a low tacacs timeout value. The engineer then reduced the number of ports in the range command and re-issued the config change after which the switch just crashed and rebooted.
The logging buffer on the switch displays the following:
