Cisco Switches :: 2960 - Password Less Log In With Public Key SSH Authentication

I have a Catalyst 2960 switch (2960-8TC-L) and running Software version 12.2(53)SE1.I mange to configure SSH to the switch and add addition user as well.Now I need to configure this switch password less log in with public key SSH authentication.
I configured several Linux servers and Workstations for the public key SSH authentication.So far I could not figure out how to do this in CISCO switch. Following link {URL} how to do this.But ip ssh pub key- chain command never work showed invalid command.

I have configured ssh on a 2960 to use public key authentication. Now that I can securely log into ssh without a password Is it possible to disable password authentication so that it is impossible to login without the key?

I am trying to get to work Web-based authentication on Catalyst 2960 and 3560 for clients that don't support dot1x. I followed this guide. Here's the problem: Client (win7) joins the network, opens the web browser and tries to navigate to any http site. The switch forces him the "login" page in which he has to enter credentials. After the client enters credentials, the switch sends http 500 internal server error page and nothing happens. Doesn't matter if the credentials were correct or not. Also i checked radius logs for requests, the switch doesn't even ask radius.
The configuration:

Trying to ssh from our QNAP to our switches and copy the running-config.These tests are on an SG-300. When ready well be doing the same thing on all of our 2960's. So maybe the SG300 is the problem.

I want to configure IEEE 802.1x port-based authentication on cisco switches, preferable 2960 series. Which models support this feature?. I have try with some older switches but it doesn't works properly on everyone. I have upgraded them whitout better results, there is namely an issue with TLS handshaking on some switches which produces authentication to fail.

I have configured the cisco 2960 switch with AAA & the radius server is free radius. I am able to login into the switch when radius server is working.But when radius server is not reachable, in that particular condition the switch doesn't move to local authentication configured on the switch.

I have a problem with radius authentication on catalyst 2960 with freeradius as radius-server. The Catalyst is behind a HP5412zl layer3-switch. The rest of the network are hp-layer2 switches, which do radius authentication to the same radius server. The ios on the catalyst is c2960-lanbasek9-mz.150-1.SE3. Apparently there are no requests made to the radius-server, since I dont see any requests coming in. Port 0/7 is voice port with laptop behind , /port 0/8 access-port with laptop directly connected.

authentication server 2x - W2008/NPS like a RADIUS server
The problem is the end station that are still connected to the supplicant port /use a EAP-TLS/ after the reboot supplicant! All of them will be put into the Guest VLAN instead of static VLAN 34!
[The question]
What is wrong and how to configure/tune and what authenticator or authentication server to prevent after the reboot to observe a authentication timeouts? Of course the supplicant after 20 minutes /next EAPOL start farmet put into VLAN 34.

Just the http access fail. This configuration work fine with the version 12.2.55 installed before.

I'm using ISE Version : 1.0.4.573 and WS-C2960-24PC-L w/software 12.2(55)SE1 and image C2960-LANBASEK9-M for the access.

I am seeing the following behavior when computers move from one switch to another with dot1x ONLY when there is a 'stupid' switch in between.
computer -------- 'stupid' switch ------- 2960
dot1x is working fine but when the computer is disconnected, the port still shows the authentication session id so when the computer connects to another port or switch, authentication succeeds but traffic doesn't pass. While I'm almost certain that the culprit is the 'stupid' switch that doesn't clear the session id, I have already tried another one and the problem remains so I'm actually just asking for a confirmation that all these 'stupid' switches present this behavior and if there is a workaround in this case.

I am trying to set up Public wifi on my three AP1142AG WAPs. They are configured for WDS and VLAN 1 is our corporate network. VLAN 2 is the public network. All this works just fine.What I need to do is make the Public WiFi available without a password. But, the client (a City) is adamant.)Failing a NO PASSWORD scenario is there a way to make the password short (3 or 4 characters at most).

is it possible to set up a public and private password on a single router so that the public connection can be dissabled without having to turn off the private one?
I have some unruly housemates that like to try to take advantage and i only have one cat5 cable and that is already connected to a computer. i have 4 other devices that i use my wifi on and i want to be able to use them without letting my roomies use my connection. and only allow them to use the web during the day.

I have a 2960S switch and nine (9) 300 switches. I have three VLANs configured on them, data, voice and management. Each 300 has unique data and ovice VLANs corresponding to their locations. All of the 300 switches connect to the 2960 in a hub and spoke network topology via 802.1q trunks. I can access devices between switches on the data and voice VLANs fine from any other switch. My issue is that from any 300 switch I can access the 2960 management VLAN interface without a problem, but I can not access the 300 switch management VLAN that I am connected to from the CLI. I do not use the GUI at all for management.

To configure my Cisco, I use the console cable but as I have no serial port on my PC, I use a USB to serial cable which I plug the console. I had lost this USB cable -> serial but I found another one. So I started to configure my Cisco by copying from an existing config. I found out that a prior the converter is defective and copy the wrong config.
I had copied the enable secret password and it badly copied! No luck, I made a copy run start. Therefore more accessible to Cisco! When I start the Cisco, I see what activated "the Mechanism password-recovery is enabled". so I followed the procedure Cisco
I go flash_init: OK but when I type "load_helper" Unknown command it say to me .... I'm stuck!

I have a cisco 2960 switch. Trying to recover a password. Have tried several different ways to recover it. I have let the switch load completely, then pressing the mode button waiting for the light to turn amber and then green. I also have held the mode button down, plugged the switch back in until the mode light turns from amber to green. Either way I will type flash_init. Then when I type load_helper I get a invalid command response. The command load_helper isn't even listed.

i have following problem. I configured on a Cisco ASA5510 VPN authentication with LDAP. It works fine but one thing doesnt works.If i configure on my Active Directory the user for "User must change Password at next login" the message for password change is coming (look screenshot AnyConnect1), but if the user want to change his password, the password will not accepted by the system(look screenshot AnyConnect2).In the Group Policies on my Active Directory i disabled all features(look screenshot Pic1)I tried all combination for the password, but nothing will accepted.i configured LDAP over SSL and in the Tunnel Group i enabled the password management with "NOtify User 2 days prior to password expiration".

I am migrating from ACS 4.2 to 5.2. In 4.2 you could assign one user to auth via Internal Database and another user to auth via Radius Token Server. I cannot find how to do this with 5.2. There is a note in the doc that states 'Identity-related attributes are not available as conditions in a service selection policy'. Does this mean that you can only choose one auth method for all users? If it is possible to have multiple methods, how am I able to accomplish this?

At my company, we lease 3 static public IP addresses from 1 ISP. We want to have 3 separate networks that each use one of the IP addresses. Network 1 is the computer network, network 2 is the VOIP network, and network 3 is the security camera network. I am trying to determine the best way to do this. I have come up with 2 solutions in my head, but I'm not sure if they will work or not. I would like to get some input. Solution 1:Solution 1 looks something like this. Fiber box -> Router-> 3 switches. There would be one WAN input on the router, that would have a static route to 3 different LAN ports. For example, address 24.244.208.101 would be assigned to LAN port 1, 24.244.208.102 would be assigned to LAN port 2, and 24.244.208.103 would be assigned to LAN port 3 (by assigned, I mean have a static route to it). Is there some type of router that is capable of doing this? Solution 2:Solution 2 looks something like this. Fiber box -> Switch -> 3 Routers. The ethernet cable would run from the Fiber Box to a switch, and then 3 routers would be plugged into the switch. Each router would have the Static information configured in them. Would both of these methods work? If so, which would be the best way to go?

I've got a weird problem that I can't figure out. I've de-authorized the switch in the RADIUS server to force an ERROR status to test the backup entries in the AAA authentication method list. However, after I do that and try to log in (through ssh), it just prompts me for my username's password and not the enable password. Here's the debug output:

How to setup 3 SG300-52 (in L2 mode) as per this diagram:Port 1 on all switches should be able to talk to each other and access the blob at the right.The ports 25 on the other hand should only be able to talk among themselves in their own private vlan. They are to carry sensitive traffic. So I created 3 vlans, vlan 78 for ports gi1, gi51 and vlan 10 for port25,49,50 and a dummy vlan: 666 with the intent of segratating vlan 10 from vlan 78. My attempts so far have failed. ports gi49-50 are configured as trunk ports and gi1,gi51 as access ports as the following cli output (excerpts of the startup config):

vlan 10,78,666

ip address 172.16.10.11 255.255.255.0

Ports gi1 can talk to each other and access the blob but ports 25 refuse to talk to each other. But as soon as I remove the access links to the blob they can! Obviously, at that point port gi1 lose access.Is such a topology feasable or even advisable?

I just received a Catalyst 2960-C (WS-C2960C-8TC-L R) switch and I am unable to sign into its web GUI in order to configure it. I've tried both the Cisco Network Assistant and Internet Explorer and I am unable to log in either way. The documentation provided by Cisco states that the default password is simply cisco and that a username is unnecessary. Needless to say, it doesn't work. I've also Googled for other default passwords (such as cisco-cisco as the username-password), none of which worked either. I've also tried resetting the switch back to its factory default a few times.

I have at work a domain of computers. on one of the computers (I have admin rights) I want to share a folder that can be accessed by other computers that are not in the domain. By default accessing that share requires a user/pass. My question is: can I configure something on the computer (running windows 2008 server) to the shared folder so that other computers that are not from the domain will gain access to without user/pass requirement (like a normal share)?

I have problem with ESW 520, on 802.1x authentication. The problem is when host authenticates successfully it works about couple of minutes, after it truest too authenticate again but it lags. On network interface it shows notification that if Failed authentication. On ACS I see only one authentication attempt which is successful. This problem is happening on Win7 and Win XP. If I unplug and plug cable it authenticates successfully, but then about couple of minutes it again lags. Switch sees port as authenticated. On Win7 event viewer I have following error:

Reason Text: The network stopped answering authentication requests
Error Code: 0x0
If I connect same hosts on Catalyst 2960 switch, they work successfully.
