View 1 RepliesIs it possible to create a service which will forward public port 9010 to an internal IP address with port 23?First of all, I do not like to open the public Telnet port to the inside so I would use another public port and second my ISP does not allow some public ports beneath port 80?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a n150 and it only allows private ip addresses for the lan setup. Is there anyway to assign a public address? I need to have the DHCP use a public range and I can't do that unless I can set the router to a public ip.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm trying to do seems pretty basic, but I cannot get it working on the RV180?I have 5 Fixed IPs. Using Access Rules I have configured a few inbound rules with specified WAN Destination addresses and these are correctly port forwarding these inbound ports on the specified Public IP addresses. Perfect!
However, for outbound, I need to do the equivalent for one public IP for outgoing SMTP so that our mail servers public facing address is not the standard WAN address and therefore will not fail a reverse DNS lookup. At the moment I have emails bouncing all over the place and panic has set in. I thought the SNAT option was the soltuion, but that just seems to break traffic flow completely on the specified port. I had this working no problem on my old Netgear, but I had to replace it due to throughput limitations.
Got two pc's, two routers and one switch, and two serial cables and I want to create a network.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAt my company, we lease 3 static public IP addresses from 1 ISP. We want to have 3 separate networks that each use one of the IP addresses. Network 1 is the computer network, network 2 is the VOIP network, and network 3 is the security camera network. I am trying to determine the best way to do this. I have come up with 2 solutions in my head, but I'm not sure if they will work or not. I would like to get some input. Solution 1:Solution 1 looks something like this. Fiber box -> Router-> 3 switches. There would be one WAN input on the router, that would have a static route to 3 different LAN ports. For example, address 24.244.208.101 would be assigned to LAN port 1, 24.244.208.102 would be assigned to LAN port 2, and 24.244.208.103 would be assigned to LAN port 3 (by assigned, I mean have a static route to it). Is there some type of router that is capable of doing this? Solution 2:Solution 2 looks something like this. Fiber box -> Switch -> 3 Routers. The ethernet cable would run from the Fiber Box to a switch, and then 3 routers would be plugged into the switch. Each router would have the Static information configured in them. Would both of these methods work? If so, which would be the best way to go?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen it comes to fiber optics my knowledge is very limited. All I know is that they can carry data at high bandwidth for a long range at blazing speeds etc.My boss has asked me to link several buildings to the network and I am led to believe that joining them through fiber optics to be best since we are expecting a lot of data traffic between.I have done the normal RJ-45 networking with Gigabit networking in my organisation but need your assistance on how to join each of the buildings through fibre optics. So far this is my plan.Draw up the fiber optic lines from the main building to each building. All the buildings have Gigabit Cat6e cabling and network in each.I am planning on using a single mode media converter to convert the end of the fibre optic to the normal RJ45 connector and plug it to each switch at each of the ends of the fiber optic cable .Am I going in the correct direction?I don't even know the gadgematics required except for the cables them selves, crimping tools, the media converter. There is about 300-400 metres in between of each building from the main building. Also, I believe that we need to create cross over cables as in the normal way we do in connecting 2 switches. Your input is very valuable to me.

I would also like to know how I can enable NAT with PAT.I've tried setting the outside Interface for use with PAT but It keeps reverting to the setting for a range of external addresses.I'm not really used to the ASA cli yet , I'm getting there. If there's a workaround via the CLI , I'll take that route.
