May 1, 2005She has a Dell Dimension 2400, Service Tag 2VG3341 running Win XP Home with Service Pack 2.
At startup we get a message from Norton A/Virus 2003 - Symantec cannot scan your email address, because your network is not properly configured.
Canceling this message and trying to connect to the internet using the Dial –up connection gives this message:
Error 720: A connection to the remote computer could not be established. You might need to change the network settings for this connection.
I have checked the Network Properties as per Windows Troubleshooter, but cannot find anything unusual.
I have also ran the Dell Diagnostic CD, but these tests have are all clear.
The Windows firewall is also disabled
When I try to enable it I get the error message –
Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service?
After clicking on “Yes” A dialog box shows “Starting the Windows ICS” Then comes the message “Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall /ICS Services”

%CAPWAP-3-AP_DB_ALLOC: capwap_ac_db.c:145
Unable to allot AP entry in database. We receive this message about once a minute on average. I can't find any documentation saying what it is. It looks like a database error, which makes think it might be a memory issue or an issue with having too many AP's on the WLC. However, that controller has less than 30 AP's on it.

Cisco WAN :: WRVS4400N - External Web Server Can't Connect To Internal SQL Database
Jul 4, 2011I have a hosted web server that has a website on it that needs to connect back to a database within our internal network. We have a Cisco WRVS4400N Wireless Router with 2 VLANS. VLAN 1 goes to a Watchguard Firebox which is connected to our internal network. VLAN 2 goues to our classroom network.
Our database is on VLAN 1. I have opened port 1433 on the Watchguard to allow SQL traffic from our Web Server. I can telnet from my workstation on VLAN 1 to the Web Server over port 1433, so I know the Web Server is not blocking anything. When I try to telnet from the Web Server to our Public IP address over port 1433, it fails.
I believe I have the firewall on the Cisco WRVS4400N off, so it shouldn't be blocking any traffic, but for the life of me I can't get this to work. I have been working on this for two days, and I NEED it to work. This was working up until last week, then it quit working. I am the only person making changes to our network, and there were no changes made during that time.

When I create a report to ccheck on sys logs the report returns all sys log whether they are repetitive or not. Is there a way to have a same sys log error come back with a number of ocurences?

Apr 23, 2012My laptop is connected to a router via wifi but it keeps getting a DNS fault. I have another PC linked to the same router via WiFi and that works perfectly all the time. I have the same problem on both google chrome and IE browsers where I just get the message telling me that the DNS look up failed. My internet is still connected as I can dial into my remote CCTV cameras and I can ping website ip addresses. Most times I can just turn off my wireless adapter and turn it back on and it works for another hour or so. But sometimes it wont work all day, unless I start my laptop in safe mode, when it works everytime! I have flushed the DNS cache several times but to no avail.

Error Message Popped Up - Unable To Uninstall Device?
Feb 1, 2011So I was having trouble loading a game on my computer and I was scrolling through forums looking for an answer and one answer that supposively worked for a lot of people was to unisntall and reinstall my network card.IT told me to go to devices -> right click network adapter -> uninstall -> then scan for hardwarer changes to reinstall When I clicked uninstall an error message popped up and said "Unable to uninstall device because device is required on startup" and then it apparently just uninstalled it anyway and it showed back up after I clicked "scan for hardware changes".Now ever since, everytime I try and connect to the internet my computer says "Limited or no connectivity" and I'm unable to access the internet on that computer, the computer I am on now can connect just fine, so it must have something to do with the network card that i supposively unisntalled.

ERROR: Command authorization failed.
I am unable to make any configuration changes on the firewall. Is there any default user through which I can log in and disable the aaa authorization ? if not, how can I resolve this situation ?
Unable To Map Network Drivers Anymore (error Code 0x80070035)
Aug 11, 2011Im having this problem at work where im trying to map my folders within our server, i used to be able to do so but as if out of nowhere i couldn't do so anymore, our network support said everything is fine with our server and the problem is probably something with my laptop.
Im using a laptop with windows 7 Home Premium 64bits
My network adapters are:
Intel Centrino Ultimate - N6300 AGN
Intel 82577LC Gigabit Network Connection
Im able to ping my server just fine, left only one of these microsoft 6to4 adapters, tried turning off my AVG and Firewall, sharing devices and printers is enabled, Netbios is enabled.
Oh, and my antivirus is AVG free.

When the above problem happens, as work-around, we delete VLAN.DAT file on the Compact Flash of this 2811 router and recopy the VLAN>DAT file back to teh Compact Flash.
Then it runs for a few weeks and the same problem happened.
Then we put a new Compact Flash and recopied VLAN.DAT to new CF and it ran for 3 weeks and same problem started again.
Could be 2811 router motherboard? This customer has thousands of these 2811 routers in identical setups and this is the only router that is having this problem.

Cisco VPN :: 3825 - VPN Client Is Giving Error And Unable To Create Certificate Enrollment Request
Feb 21, 2011We find ourselves in a difficult situation with the Cisco VPN Client version 5.0.07.0290 where it keeps giving us an
"Error 42: Unable to create certificate enrollment request"
When we attempt to use the Online enrollment method to create and enroll a new certificate. There is no additional information in the VPN client logs where we have set 3-High for all logs. In addition, Wire shark does not show any packets sent from the machine running the client to the Cisco 3825 router which runs the Cisco CA.
To create and enroll a certificate we do the following:
1. Click on the Enroll button to show the Certificate Enrollment dialog
2. Select Online
3. Select <New> for Certificate Authority
4. Enter http://192.168.120.1 as CA URL (note, 192.168.120.1 is the IP of the Cisco 3825)
5. Click Next to display the dialog where we can enter certificate details
6. Enter details in all fields except IP Address and Domain
7. Click Enroll which shows a dialog with the Error 42 ... message in it.
If we attempt to create a request by using the File method, all works fine, that is, the client creates a file with the enrollment request. The fact that the client does not send any messages to the Cisco CA leads us to believe that we have a problem on the client machine. However, the client does not write any information in the logs, so it is a bit hard to fix the problem. I can provide additional configuration information if required for both the client and the Cisco CA. Note that we have not modified any client configuration. Basically, we installed the client on a Windows 7 64bit machine and attempted the steps listed above.

Jan 26, 2012I need to generate an ODBC connection to the upm Datasource on LMS 4.1 running on Win2K8. I have successfully built connections to cmf, ipm and rmeng, however UPM keeps failing saying that the Database is not found.
Here are my settings.
Driver = CiscoWorks Embedded Database
ODBC Tab - Data source name = upm
ODBC Tab - Description = Device Performance
Login Tab - Supply user ID and Password is selcted
Login Tab - User ID = lmsdatafeed (i have tried DBA as well)
Login Tab - Password = set using the password I estabplished with the dbaccess.pl and dbpasswd.pl scripts
Database.Server name = upmEng
Network.TCP/IP = HOST=<lms server ip>;DOBROADCAST=NO;ServerPort= 43800
I validated the server port using netstat -a -b -o and matching up the PID with the UPMDBEngine process shown in the LMS Manage Processes window.Windows firewalls on the remote machine and the LMS server are off.
