I am trying to figure out why the Device view has no systlogs in Cisco Prime 4.1.I have everything configured, the switch is sending debugging level logs to the IP of the Prime Server. I am fairly certain it is reporting because it has alot of other information in the server.

We have LMS Prime 4.2. I know how to view the running config on a single device. How do I run a report that will pull all the running configs of all my devices in one report? I'd be able to same them as one big pdf or text file. ]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to run Audit reports for config change (Reports > Compliance and Audit > Change Audit > Standard). If I use "Immediate" Run Type a report gets generated with exactly what we need. If I try to use anything else so LMS can generate an email we keep getting this error. I had a look on the forum and supposedly this should be fixed since 3.2.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem with the Layer2 view of the Topology java applet in Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.The Layer2 view shows all the ethernet interfaces links but not the ones in the serial interfaces.All devices have CDP and SNMP (read-only) enabled, and theirs neighbors can be seen with "show cdp neighbors" in both sides of those links.

I'm using ACS for auth, that seems to be working OK. I have a second system LMS#2, setup exactly the same, which works properly, all "full permission" users can access all device menus.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using CISCO PRIME LMS 4.1 for manage my network, i ran a device discovery job using a ping sweep on the ip ranges of my network, ie 192.168.1.0/24, 192.168.2.0/24 and so on... the discovery found all my devices, but it discovered duplicate devices with illegal ip Addresses, i.e.,
ip device
192.168.1.255 S1
192.168.2.0 S1
192.168.2.1 S1 (the real address)
all in reachable status.
I don't understand why the program adds that repeated illegal addresses.. How can I run the device discovery to avoid this problem?
How to get the Detailed Device View in LMS 4.0 ? From what I have been able to find out I should be able to go do Monitor> Fault Settings> Setup> Fault Device Details, select a device, click View and then click the device name link.Unfortunately the device name(s) displayed are not links, just text.

The VLANconfig is not collected according to the devicestatus dashboard. i am aware there were a known issue with LMS running on a virtual server and vlan not being able to be collected, is this issue resolved? i have tried the various workarounds with TAC support and it hasnt worked. We have the running and startup config collected for our devices when looking at the device status dashboard. does this mean if a switch crashes we can restore the config to a new switch immediately?
i saw there is a version 4.2. maybe this version resolves the issue with LMS on a virutal server? i cannot find the download to upgrade to 4.2 in the support section though.
We have a Prime LMS and a Prime NCS instance running. At the moment, instead of having the 2 systems do device discovery independantly, I thought a good way to set things up would be for LMS to do all of the discovery, and then export the DCR from LMS into NCS.
Now doing this manually in a cinch, but I'd like to automate the process. LMS has some nice scripting features that allows me to easily use the 'dcrcli' script to export a CSV file of the all of devices and credentials, which can be put in a format that NCS can bulk import. I plan to do this on a regular basis using a cron entry.
What I can't seem to find is any documentation on how I might be able to achieve the import piece of the puzzle on the NCS box. Are there command line utilities as with LMS that would allow me to import devices, and put the scripting into a cron file to do on a regular basis?
The problem is that - although negotiated in global discovery settings - Prime appends domain name to the device name so that all switches (not routers) have "confusing names". The domain name is not required in device name. What can i do?

I managed to import our devices with bulk import , but after it I realized that for some devices the snmp retry / timeout values were different ( created the bulk file with 3 retries and 30 sec timeout , but in the system the appear with 2 retries and 1 sec timeout). I tried to change it manually , but after a while it goes back to the wrong values.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSetup my DCS-930L for DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) so I can access the DCS-930L via the Internet (couldn't access the camera half the the time while on vacation using mydlink) and can now access the camera using my laptop, Android Thrive, and Motorola Droid 3 via the URL I've created but can only see the video when using the laptop.
I have the DCS-930L set to Java but when I log into the camera with the Thrive or Droid 3 (both Android devices) I don't get video. I can make changes to the camera settings and everything else you can do when logged into the camera but just can't see the video. If I change the 'View Mode' in the video setup to 'Image', I will get a picture on all three devices (Thrive, Droid 3, and laptop).What do I need on the Droid 3 & Thrive so I can see the video when I log into the DCS-930L with an Android device?
I currently have 2 e4200 wireless routers. The first router is connected to 3 devices via ethernet, and the 4th port is connected to my other e4200v2 which is set as bridge mode. The main router is at one end of the house, the second bridge mode router is at the other end.My wireless devices are connected to the main e4200v2, along with all the wired clients.
When wirelessly connected to the 2nd e4200 (the bridged one) I cannot connect to or ping any wireless clients that are connected to the main router. (For example, in my bedroom I am connected with my computer to the 2nd bridged router, and I am trying to ping my other computer that is wireless connected to the main router. I am unable to ping to this computer. When I am conected wirelessIy to the mian router, than I am able to ping the other wireless computer on the same router. Note:I am able to access any hard wired devices to the main router, regardless of which router I am connected to. The issue only appears to be when trying to connect to a wireless device that is connected to a different router than the device I am connecting from.Both routers are setup on the same subnet mask with firmware Ver.2.1.39.145204
We're currently evaluating Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.Something we've been trying to achieve for the past couple of days is to have LMS notify us when a Microsoft Host is Unreachable, and then to notify us once that alarm has cleared (the Microsoft Host is Reachable again).
We're at the point where the Microsoft Host was discovered, LMS incorrectly identified it as a Cisco Call Manager, so we changed it's identity to non-cisco device > microsoft host > microsoft host. LMS currently has the device listed as being in the 'Questioned' state. SNMP timeout has been set to 15 seconds, and the SNMP community is correct.
Being new to LMS Prime, and having not received any training on the product to this point, we turned to the admin guide, but we couldn't find anything that goes into detail for how to manage the notification for non-Cisco devices.
Is what we're trying to achieve possible with Cisco Prime LMS 4.2? We just want to be able to receive simple 'host unreachable' notifications for Microsoft servers, and the corresponding 'cleared' notifications once the server is back online.
In my Cisco ASA 5550, I need to set two different syslogs servers, and I need to send the system logs to the first one (only admins login/logout), and the traffic logs and all the rest (informational level) to the second one. Do you know if is it possible or not and, if yes, how to configure it?

Is there anything special I need to do to setup LMS4.1 to receive syslog's sent directly to its IP. .e.g. not using an external syslog server but using LMS.
I would like to create custom reports using the Report Designer (Reports -> Report Designer -> Syslog) and filter certain syslogs from being seen when I run the report like permitted ACL entries, 802.1x successful authentications. It seems like there is only the option of displaying what you want to see, not what you don't want to see.

But it seems that it is running out of space after some times.So actually we managed to add another server, with a HDD of 500 GB capacity, and maped this HDD as a network drive.Now my question is: is it possible to enable LMS to automatically save all syslogs and collected data from the actual 160 GB HDD, to the new one 500 GB HDD?

Currently the firewall is setup for just the one syslog device. If I add an additional device ie further IP in the config for the Loglogic box will there be any noticeable differences in the performance of the firewall, does affect the cpu utilisation, or memory in any way.

The screen has only the option for 1 video channel. I have seen on-line screen shots that have options for channel 1 through 8. I want to assign each camera to a different channel so I will be able to use remote live view to show all 4 cameras at the same time. I can only show one at a time. Do I need a different version than 3.3 or some obscure windows 7 setting?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?

We are using LMS 3.2.1 with SP1 and Campus Manager 5.2.2.Server runs Windows 2003 R2.Everything runs fine except for User Tracking on two Catalyst 6500 switches running CatOS. These devices are discovered, reachable, SNMP works fine, neighbors seen. But when we try to launch acquisition, the UT utility complains with this error message:"Failed to start acquisition: Device unreachable. Please enter a valid device."When we wanted to add ports via Device Trap Configuration, LMS has fired a different error message: "There are no ports to configure for the selected device(s).Check whether you have selected any router(s)." I have checked the portsData.xml file, which doesn't have any ports included for the two devices: [code] We have tried to exclude / include the switches in the data collection, but that didn't work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy BEFSR81 is my primary router and has DHCP turned on. The router's DHCP range is set to accommodate 12 devices. I have three computers wired to it and their Host names (as specified in the set-up of each computer) show up in the router's DHCP device table. I also have two printers (one old Brother HL5250DN laser printer and one new HP Photosmart Premier C410a inkjet printer) connected and there are blanks where the Host name should go. I would like to be able to tell which printer is which when I am looking at the DHCP device table. How can I get a names associated with each printer's IP address in the router's DHCP device table? (The real problem is that the router seems to have both printers at the same IP address (192.168.1.100) and if I can get one of them to change I'd like to know which one it was!)
