I would like to make a monitoring system of my network based on Zabbix . I would like to use SNMP protocol with the Cisco RV180W but in that case, i need its MIB table to generate appropriate OID for CPU and memory using and network information. Where i can find this kind of information ?

We have a generic management pack installed that seems to work for parts of the 5525. We can see performance info for IF-4 but none of the other interfaces.
Our Management Pack is a generic Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 9.1(1) management pack.
Is there a management pack that is specifically for this Cisco firewall?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried to make policy based routing on Cisco 3560. I use ipservices ios (SW version 12.2.(50)SE3 and SW-IMAGE C3560-IPSERVICESK9-M) For below configuration there is no problem and pbr is working.

But when i add another sequence to the "pbr1" with another sequence number like that.

pbr is not working. Switch gives message "PLATFORM_PBR-3-UNSUPPORTTED_RMP:Route-map pbr1 not supported for Policy Based Routing”"ip policy route-map pbr1" command not shown in the running config. And "show ip policy" output is blank.Configuration guide says you have insert many sequence to the route-map with the same name. And also this command is not in the unsupported command list.
I would like to ask if what is the difference between RV180W-E-K9-G5 and RV180W-A-K9-NA specifically the -E and the -A. As far as I know -A is the compliance code for Philippines. Am I right? If yes, what about -E? There is a documentation for wireless complaince on Aeronet devices but what about these SB products?

I am working with a company who uses an Access database that checks members in and out of a gym. 6-8 people work in the database at any given time. Several times a day the users will get a network error and they have to force the database to close. Sometimes this happens to all of the users and sometimes to just certain ones. I believe the problem lies with the database (due to poor programming) but I want to monitor the network connectivity to see if and when the network connection is dropped and determine if that corresponds with when users begin seeing network errors in the database.

We want to broadcast two SSIDs from both locations: the office SSID, which shares routing to LAN traffic, and a guest SSID.The office computers are attached via ethernet to a switch off of LAN port 1 on the router. The AP is attached to LAN port 2 on the router.On the router, the office SSID and the LAN are members of VLAN 1. The guest network is a member of VLAN 2. From the router, everything works just fine.On the WAP, the staff SSID works fine, but the guest SSID has no internet. Both the office and guest networks get DHCP successfully from the router.Our VLAN membership table in the router and WAP are attached, as well as other configuration details.Why would we not be getting internet on the guest ID only on the WAP?

My parent's have rented out my room, since I'm going to college, and I was wondering if there was a way to monitor the traffic that is going on in my network. Once the guy moved in, the wireless connection speed drastically decreased. I was barely able to sure the internet on my laptop. I currently have about 8 devices connected to my network. I am running a wired connection for my desktop so I don't feel any lag, but everything else runs on wifi.

Here's the basic set up of my problem:We have 40 medical facilities in five Western States, each with up to 30+ pieces of hardware including thin clients, PCs, laptop computers and wall mounted touch screen kiosks operating on a variety of OS including primarily XP pro, then Linux and transitioning into Win 7.We have installed Aruba wireless network in each building on which our mobile medical cart laptops connect. Each facility has a different mix of primary and backup/failover ISP from DSL, Cable, T1 to Bonded T. All are at or exceed 22MB down, 5MB up save the T1s at their dedicated 1.5 and we monitor speeds and network stats trhough our gateway device. PfSense.All employees connect through an RDP (Remote Connection) to our hosting company in Atlanta, GA where the farm of about 28 servers reside hosting our medical, email and office applications.We regularly are contacted by nursing and clinical office staff complaining that "the network is slow". We review connection speeds, loads, ping times and confirm that there are no ISP Speed issues that are causing the "Slowness". However when we review exactly what the nurses mean by "slow" it invariably turns to how long it takes to log in to the RDP sessions and access then run their medical applications in the RDP. They often sit and wait for the RDP to load for five minutes or more and complain of waiting for their typing to catch up in the applications they work in.
We believe the slowness occurs once they are connected in the RDP and that their problems are occurring at the hosting company's facility, getting through their firewall, through profile management and server hardware/software but we can not prove this is the case because the hosting company always claims they see perfectly acceptable speeds and access on their side and we are locked out from access to monitor tehir environment. Changing hosting companies is probelmatic because they are specialised in our industry and leaving would be diffcult. I need some software that I can install on a few machines in a select few of our facilities that will track and record the actual user experience so that we can watch and review exactly what is happening, what the network stats look like and precisely where the user is experiencing "slowness".
Is there any way to hide my activity on the network? My network administrator monitors our network activity, specifically chat.

We currently have a 3/3 Etherloop. We dont have any internal IT as we are still small and while not a networking guy I can at least understand what is going on. Right now at peaks we are hitting 100% utilization.
We run a call center in house so I am trying to determine at the very least how much of this traffic is from voice data compared to everything else.Was running through our networking configuration and it just seems off to me. The following is the flow.

Everything up to the first switch is a single line. The first switch has all ports running out except 1 which goes to the second switch. The second switch runs out to machines as well.
I am at the networking level where I understand a switch but have no idea what the IAD really does between the etherloop modem and the wireless router.
For some reason I feel like the router should not be setup in that manner and should be off of the switch. With the cisco IAD running directly to the first switch. So my 2 big questions are.
1. Does this setup even make sense.
2. Whats the easiest way to monitor traffic, at the very least it would be nice to see real time up/down and be able to log in. Then I guess using ports figure out what is being used by voice. My first guess was just putting a machine between the IAD and first switch and monitor and log the traffic.
1) How do you manage your inventory of network equipment from the time you receive a product into inventory to the time you decommission it?
2) How do you make aware the people who manage your network monitoring/reporting software that a device has been added/removed from the field?
2a) How do you notify the people who manage your network monitoring/reporting software of what is to be monitored on a new device in the field? Of a new interface that has been added/removed on an existing device?
2b) How quickly do you notify for 2/2a? i.e. minutes, hours, days, etc.
3) What types of interfaces and resources do you monitor on a network device?
I am wondering if all routers that have a USB port to which network storage can be attached, support the functionality to enable that storage to be accessed from outside the network. If this is true how (in a conceptual sense) can the router be configured to do this and what are the security implications?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchase my first Cisco products for a network for our church. I have a RV180W router, WAP 121 Access Point and a SR2016T switch for our network, which is just pier-to-pier at this point. We have 5 computers connected with ether net through the switch and all see the Internet and work fine. The wireless connection through the router is working fine with our wireless devices (laptops and i Pads). Where I am having issues is with the AP. It is in different area away from the router being powered through POE instead of the regular power connection.
My problem is this: it takes FOREVER to connect to the AP and to the Internet, even when sitting directly under the AP with full signal. Once connected, it appears to allow Internet connection just fine, but getting to that point takes 15-20 minutes sometimes. Also, when I come back the next day, I have NO signal at all, as it seems the AP has "timed out" due to inactivity or something. I have to reboot the AP and the router to get it all back up and running again. I need for the signal to stay up all the time or at least come on when someone connects.
So, what am I doing wrong here? I have recognized and authorized the AP through the router config, security is set up fine and I can see it once it comes up. I have the AP set up as a completely different SSID, although I would prefer to have the AP as merely an extension of the router's wireless network if possible.
We have a network configured this way : 192.168.1.1/24 and we reached it's limit, is there any way to extend it having the same scheme and keeping communications between the machines, I've tried 192.168.2.1 but it simply doesn't work.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI live in an apartment where my internet is included in the rent. In all the rooms there is an ethernet socket buillt into the wall. I'd like to know how to connect a router to this for wireless internet. I have tried one router, but it buggers up the ip address and brings down the network for the entire apartment complex. I've done this twice now and don't fancy waiting another week for the technician to call out to reset things. I had a friend who lived in a simalar complex, rj45 sockets on the wall etc. He has a thomson router, which has a little black box plugged into the ethernet socket on the back of the router. Into this little black box goes the ethernet cable from the wall socket and bam, he has wireless internet, even though he has no access to the main router or switch of the apartment block. It's not failed once either. Both the router and the little black box need mains power.I think it was originally for a WIMAX connection. It's small, maybe 2"X3" inch?
