Cisco Routers :: RV110W - Firmware Download Page And Inbound Access To Mapped Ports
Nov 22, 2011
I saw a reference to release notes for firmware 1.1.0.9 (I think that was the number) for the RV110W but if I browse the firmware download page I only see 1.0.1.6 available for download. Is this available somewhere or am I confused and saw a reference to something else?
I have an installed RV110W at a client site that has to be rebooted about once a week since it stops allowing inbound access to mapped ports. For example, it stops forwarding connections on Port 25 to the client's e-mail server. I thought for a while there was a software issue with the e-mail server but after days of eliminating all other likely issues I rebooted the router and everything was fine. Now the problem recurs about once a week and rebooting the router always fixes it (this is week 3). Forwarding to ports 80, 443, and several others also stop working.

CE IP - 172.18.10.10 /30PE IP - 172.18.10.9/30 I had configured some floating static route on the PE towards CE .The routes were installed correctly till PE - CE link was UP as next hop IP was showing as connected .Now the link has been removed and I am receiving a supernet of 172.16.0.0/12 from PE2 via MPBGP. Although the 1st static route for 10.10.0.0 is showing in routing table, the other 2 ( 172.17.0.0 & 172.24.0.0 ) donot show. I believe that as both the routes and next hop fall under the supernet , the static route is not installing. But I don't know why is this behaviour. I tried to remove the distance 250 from both the routes , but still the static route does not install. I tried this on GNS3 but got the same results .

I have a RV110W that's been in service since Dec 2012. All Everything is working fine except every month or so the firewall starts blocking all inbound traffic. It does not respond to remote management access. If I reboot the firewall (pwr off/on) everything works correctly for the next month or so and then it begins blocking all inbound traffic again. Local access to the Internet and VPN tunneling are not affected. When it's working, all my rules and port forwarding work correctly.

With firmware 1.2.0.9 - can the RV110W be used as a VPN endpoint? The VPN capabilities have been expanded in this version - but from the docs this isn't quite clear to me.

I installed firmware version 1.2.0.9 a couple weeks ago after seeing in the release notes that the port forwarding bug where clients would get 'no route to host' was resolved (one of the original posts found here:URL
After installing the firmware and confirming it's running I've seen no improvement. I still must reboot my router 2-3 times daily so clients can access the ports that are defined in the port forwarding module.

Is it possible to set up an RV110W to limit access to only specified websites according to a schedule? I can block access to specific sites using the Internet Access Policy settings under Firewall, but I can't figure out a successful way to block access to all sites except those specified. I also tried establishing access rules but that did not work either.

We have purchased an RV110W and I need to restrict internet access to the entire internet with the exception of 4 websites that are required for employees to do their jobs. I need to do this on 3 specific machines, not the entire network. I have looked at the internet access and schedule management pages of the router and just can seem to figure out how to do this.

Is there any way to block access to the router logon page from the wan? By simply going to the router's external WAN IP, the cisco logon screen shows up? I really think this not that safe and want to block it from showing up. I have looked at all the settings and don't seem to be able to find something that will keep that from happening.

My current network consists of 4 computers, 3 windows 7, 1 Windows Home Server 2003. All are wired to a gigabit unmanaged switch which is connected to a Netgear WNR200V2 router. The router is connected to the cable modem. I replaced the Netgear WNR2000v2 router with a Cisco RV110W firewall which i had preconfigured using another computer. The 3 Windows 7 PC's connected up with no problems. The WHS 2003 computer has no internet access. All 4 computers are visible on the lan and the 3 Win 7 PC can access the internet. I've tried accessing the internet by URL and IP from the WHS with no luck. All computers are assigned static IP's. I've checked all my settings, turned off the firewall in both the WHS and the RV110W with no change. If I plug the Netgear router inplace of the Cisco, all computers including the WHS have internet access. Has to be a setting somewhere in the Cisco router that's blocking the access. IP's for the 3 Win7's are 192.168.1.40, 41,42. Fot the WHS 192.168.1.76.

I upgraded my router from version 1.2 to 1.35NA, through the Tools / Systems page on the router (uploaded the bin file). I am connected to the router via a wired connection.
During the upgrade, the message said I wouldn't be able to access the webpage until 75 secs. I watched it count down the seconds and then when it refreshed, I could not get to my routers page: 192.168.1.2
The DLink Router is connected as a pass through router to my FIOS router, so that I can use the wired ports and I use the DLink as my wireless router (fios router wireless strength was poor).
All the lights on the router are working as though everything is ok. I am still connected to the Internet, so it appears that the pass through of my wired ports is still working after the firmware upgrade, but wireless is not. Not surprising. I expect I may have to upload my settings (which I did save), but since I cannot get to the routers page, I feel a bit stuck.
two more bits of into. I also tried getting to 192.168.0.1, which might be the default? and I cannot get there either. My Fios router is on 192.168.1.1 (and as mentioned, the DLink should be at 192.168.1.2). Fios Router reports that the 192.168.1.2 port is inactive.

I've encountered a problem when using PPTP VPN to access my network. I can connect in and able to ping the hosts connected to the RV110W. [code] On the local network, I am able to ping the hosts in 192.168.250.x from 192.168.251.x and vice versa.Static routes are configured to ensure that all networks are reachable. The problem comes when I tried to VPN (PPTP) in from a remote location using the Windows XP's built in default VPN dialer. When connected, I can ping all the hosts on 192.168.254.xxx segments, but when I tried to ping the hosts in 192.168.250.xxx and 192.168.251.xxx segments, I get a request timeout.
The routing table on the RV110W shows the gateway for 192.168.254.240 (the VPN IP address) as 0.0.0.0 and interface is WAN.What am I missing and how should I configure the RV110W so that I can access the other subnets through VPN?

I have an RV110W running firmware version 1.0.1.6 and I am trying to figure out how to enable website blocking in the Internet Access Policy screen. The Add Row button is grayed out in that section, as are the associated checkboxes.
Is there something else one needs to do to enable this feature?
If I set a name etc. at the top, and click save, it tells me "You must at least set a website blocking or PCs rule," so it is not the case that one has to save some information before continuing!

My internet connection is fine but I really need to update the firmware on my wireless adapter. I have no problem accessing the router's config page. I ran ipconfig to get the adapter IP (screenshot attached/192.168.2.104). When I type the IP into the browser I get the "cannot display webpage" msg. I have tried turning off the power to the router, disabling Norton's firewall (I disabled Norton completely), and nothing works. Do not tell me to restore factory defaults on the adapter because I tried to get to the configuration page of another wireless adapter I have and am having the same problem.

1. I could not make an inbound access rule work for RDP. It is configured as follows WAN -> LAN for RDP (TCP 3389) , it didn't work even when I chose "All Traffic".
2. Single Port Forwarding seems to be working though.
3. Destination IP and QoS settings seem to be grayed out, I would like to know why.

Is there anywhere I can download WAP610N Firmware Version 01.0.00 build 832? I have two units with this firmware version that work OK. I recently purchased another unit that has WAP610N Firmware Versions 1.0.01 and and can only access an IP address if I do not use any security. I also spent a lot of time on the phone with Linksys support to no avail.

allow ports 18082 and 18086 inbound to one of my internal servers. how to create a static nat rule but I dont know how to only allow those two ports. I dont want to open the server to all ports. This is what I am doing via ASDM v6.1:
Configuration-NAT Rule-Add=Add Static NAT Rule
Original
Interface: inside
Source: my internal IP address
Translated
Interface: outside
Use IP Address: my available external IP address
Now under PAT I assume that's where I put the ports, so I place a checkbox on Enable and select TCP. Then I enter 18082 on both the Original and Translated Port boxes. I tried adding 18086 by entering 18082-18086 or with a comma as a separator but it doesnt allow it and spits an error saying that the format is incorrect.
click [OK]
Now is that how I add a single port to forward to my internal server? Do need to create another Static NAT Rule including the second port of 18086

let me know whether you can make the attached network using by RV110W or not. When I read the mannual of "rv110w_admin.pdf", P38, I guess RV110W cannot be built both NAT & Router mode.Because, I cannot setup NAT for internet access if I setup "Operating Mode" as "Router" on the setting of "Networking > Routing".And, I cannot setup the routing for internet access & MPLS-VPN access if I setup "Operating Mode" as "Gateway" on the setting of "Networking > Routing".

I have a file server running windows 2003 and five computers (1 windows 7, 4 windows xp-sp3).There are two shares on the server. When the router is setup with wpa2, three of the windows xp machines will have problems with mapped drives. Directly after the drives are mapped, everything works, but 10 or so hours later, users can no longer access these mapped drives and there is no way to reconnect them it seems. The other two machines (windows 7 and one windows xp machine) have no problems whatsoever.
The only thing that the three computers have in common is that they are also sharing a printer (an hp j4680) attached to one windows xp machine (not the server). If I set everything to wpa, everything works fine, but of course my wireless network speeds drop to 56mbps.
