Cisco Routers :: SRP527 - InterVLan Not Working?

Mar 21, 2012

I would like my SRP527 router to manage 2 VLAN. 1 for my whole LAN and employees WIFI connections, another one for external clients to access Internet by guest WIFI SSID.

- I have this Cisco SRP527W router acting as a gateway between my LAN and Internet.
- I have a second router used for VPN connections between my LAN and 2 external agencies.
- My LAN is using 192.168.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 network
- External Agence 1 is using 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 network
- External Agence 2 is using 192.168.3.0 / 255.255.255.0 network

The Cisco Router is using 2 VLAN :

-VLAN 1 (LAN port 4 and SSID 1) -> 192.168.0.254 / 255.255.255.0
-VLAN 3 (SSID  2) -> 10.33.0.254 / 255.255.255.0

The Cisco router is using 2 static routes :

- Agence 1 : 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 -> Gateway 192.168.0.249
- Agence 2 : 192.168.3.0 / 255.255.255.0 -> Gateway 192.168.0.249

The VPN router for external agencies is using 192.168.0.249 / 255.255.255.0.

When the SRP527W router has intervlan routing enabled, everything is working. I can ping my external agencies. However, external clients using guest WIFI can also ping my internal LAN. Disabling intervlan routing separate VLAN 1 and VLAN 3 properly, but i can't ping my external agencies anymore and i don't know why ?

Behind my Cisco router :

- 1 HP Gigabit switch (servers, VPN router are connected to it)
- 2 Switches (HP and Accton) both linked to the gigabit switch and where all my clients are connected.

No trunk link and vlan are defined on my switches.

Cisco Routers :: SRP527 Losing Internet Access?

Oct 16, 2011

I have noticed that I have to reset the power on my srp527 more and more often, at first I thought it may be a glitch with my service provider but this is now happening more and more regularly. The internet just goes off, the network still exists and all the lights remain on (both adsl lights stay on) all the computers on the network (3 computers) cannot access anything on the net. A simple power off/on of the router restores everything but surely you do not need to do this everyday?

Cisco Routers :: RV220w Firewall Rules And InterVLan Routing?

Aug 27, 2012

I would like to isolate my wlan from the remaining network but with two exceptions. First it sould be possible to print from all devices in the wlan and second... my notebook should not be isolated

Therefore I did the followning steps:

1. Create vlan
2.Set access rules

Basically I blocked any inter-vlan-routing from the wireless vlan. I allowed all traffic from the wireless address range to the printer's ip address. I allowed all traffic from the notebook's ip address to the private vlan.

3. Set a static DHCP entry for the notebook
4. Set an IP/MAC binding entry for the notebook

For some reason I can reach any ip address from any wireless device.

Cisco VPN :: Configure Setup With 2 Srp527 At Office And Home

Sep 2, 2012

I have recently managed to configure a setup where I have 2 srp527's one at office one at home.Have 1 fixed IP at the office and 1 fixed ip at home.I have configured the srp at work to be a vpn server and have configured the group and 2 user profiles. This allows me to have 2 concurrent sessions over the vpn to my office from desktop and laptop at the same time. Connections fire up perfectly no problems.From the desktop, I connect using vpn client with user profile 1 Once connected, I then connect to my workstation machine at the office using remote desktop.This gets me super fast access to office files and large spreadsheets without downloading the whole file over the vpn and is working perfectly.

If I then additionally connect from the laptop using the vpn client with user profile 2 the remote desktop connection drops.Disconnect the laptop connection, remote desktop comes back.Have isolated this to being 2 connections arriving at the srp at the office from the same external ip. If I connect my laptop to my phone as a hotspot rather than using my home LAN, both connections are made and remote desktop has no interruptions. Is there a way I can overcome this through re-configuration of the srp at the office or is this a limitation with the srp?

InterVLAN Routing On Procurve A5500?

Jan 22, 2013

We have two publicly routable gateways attached to our A5500 switch that are expecting untagged traffic.

We currently have VLAN 10 as the untagged VLAN for Gateway 1, and VLAN30 as a tagged vlan for Gateway 2. Since both gateways are requiring untagged traffic, I need to make sure all ingress traffic from Gateway 2 gets tagged as VLAN30, while all egress traffic gets untagged.

The tricky part is they must come over the same port so I can't just tag it that way. I get the feeling this will require some static routes or VLAN Interfaces on the switch, but I'm not sure where to start.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5505 InterVLan ADSM / SSH Access

Jun 29, 2012

I am running into a issue that I cannot seem to figure out. I have a asa 5505 with the Security Plus license. I setup a native vlan where all of my network devices sit on. ie my Wireless Access point has an ip of 192.168.3.2, my switch .3. I have no issues managing these devices from any vlan I am on (permitting firewall access rules). When I try to access my ASA via ASDM/SSH. I have to use the gateway of the vlan I am on. For instance. If I am on vlan 10 I have to use 192.168.10.1 for access, if I am on vlan 20 I type 20.1...etc...etc If I type in 192.168.3.1 I get an error in the ASDM logs that states TCP reset by appliance. This is for any gateway I type except for the gateway of the vlan that I am connected to. I am posting a sanitized config. How can I configure the ASA to permit access via any gateway.

Cisco Switches :: SG300 / ASA 5505 Intervlan Routing?

Oct 17, 2012

I have an issue with correctly configuring sg300 layer 3 switch behind ASA 5505 (incl Security Plus License) The setup is as follows:

CISCO SG300 is configured as a Layer 3 Switch

Native VLAN 1: ip address 192.168.1.254, default route (inside interface ASA 192.168.1.1)

Extra VLANs on Switch defined

VLAN 100 with 192.168.100.0/24, default gateway 192.168.100.254
VLAN 110 with 192.168.110.0/24, default gateway 192.168.110.254
VLAN 120 with 172.16.0.0/16, default gateway 172.16.10.254

From the different VLANS(100,110,120)  I am able to connect to all devices in the other VLANS (except for Native VLAN 1; it's not pingable)From switch cli I can ping my firewall (192.168.1.1) and all other vlan gateways and vlan devices (VLAN1,100,110,120) From asa cli I can only ping my switch port (192.168.1.254), but no other devices in the other VLANs.

What do I need to change or setup in the switch or asa configuration in order for the other vlans to access the Internet through the ASA. I will not use the ASA as intervlan routing device, because the switch is doing htis for meI tried changing the asa int e0/1 into trunkport (uplink port on switch also), to allow all vlans, but as soon as I do that I cannot ping to 192.168.1.254 from ASA cli anymore.

Cisco WAN :: InterVLan Routing Layer 3 Switch With C3560E

I am tryingto add a new VLAN on my C3560E Layer 3 switch for administration purpose.My goal is to make this VLAN for administration only and to let the administrators from 172.17.1.1 connect to any host of the internal network 172.16.0.0 plus exit to the internet via the default gateway 172.16.1.245.

Here an extract of what done so far:

ip routing
spanning-tree mode pvst
spanning-tree extend system-id
vlan internal allocation policy ascending
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
[Code]...

What happened is that:
1. The host connected to Vlan30 can correctly ping the interface it is connected to.
2, The internal network can access the internet
3. The host connected to VLAN30 cannot access the internet and cannot connect to any internal server.

Do I have to add a static route? This is a production envuironment and it is my first experiment with a layer3 switching in production, so I cannot mistake

Cisco Firewall :: Slow Intervlan Routing On Asa 5510 Route

We configure the ASA in routed mode, we create the sub interface for server, client and dmz subnet and we connect the firewall ti the network. Everything works very good except the intervlan routin. If i try to send or receive a file in every protocol, ftp, http, smb o if i try to conne with rdp or vns to an host in a different vlan the connection goes very very slow. I particular a ftp connection between two host goes ti 15kb/s. I check all cable and port for some error on duplex ro speed, end all the uplink are 1gb and the single client connection 100Mb. I know that the main purpose of the ASA is not doing routing stuff but this behavior is very strange.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3560 - InterVLAN Communication Not Using Router

Aug 29, 2012

We are trying to figure out how to configure this properly and so far we are stuck. We have a VMWare server with two different vmnics each on a different VLAN. We have each of these vmnics connected into their own switch port on a 3560G along with the appropriate VLAN membership for said ports. We have an additional port on this same switch in trunking mode connected to our firewall to a NIC that has an IP address in the respective VLAN networks. This port is also set for dot1q encapsulation. Each VLAN also has an IP set on the switch that is in the appropriate VLAN. We are having issues in this configuration getting the one VLAN to talk to another.

I know if we were in all Cisco mode then we would use ROAS to do this inter-vlan communication. How to make this happen short of changing hardware?
