Trying to configure an SRP527 to work in conjunction with a 3560G switch.My local subnet on the 3560 is 172.23.x.x.The subnet on SRP527 is 192.168.x.x Every thing can ping each other, except I just cannot get any internet access from 172.x through 192.x and out..? Does the SRP527 support this?
View 5 RepliesI have noticed that I have to reset the power on my srp527 more and more often, at first I thought it may be a glitch with my service provider but this is now happening more and more regularly. The internet just goes off, the network still exists and all the lights remain on (both adsl lights stay on) all the computers on the network (3 computers) cannot access anything on the net. A simple power off/on of the router restores everything but surely you do not need to do this everyday?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like my SRP527 router to manage 2 VLAN. 1 for my whole LAN and employees WIFI connections, another one for external clients to access Internet by guest WIFI SSID.
- I have this Cisco SRP527W router acting as a gateway between my LAN and Internet.
- I have a second router used for VPN connections between my LAN and 2 external agencies.
- My LAN is using 192.168.0.0 / 255.255.255.0 network
- External Agence 1 is using 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 network
- External Agence 2 is using 192.168.3.0 / 255.255.255.0 network
The Cisco Router is using 2 VLAN :
-VLAN 1 (LAN port 4 and SSID 1) -> 192.168.0.254 / 255.255.255.0
-VLAN 3 (SSID 2) -> 10.33.0.254 / 255.255.255.0
The Cisco router is using 2 static routes :
- Agence 1 : 192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0 -> Gateway 192.168.0.249
- Agence 2 : 192.168.3.0 / 255.255.255.0 -> Gateway 192.168.0.249
The VPN router for external agencies is using 192.168.0.249 / 255.255.255.0.
When the SRP527W router has intervlan routing enabled, everything is working. I can ping my external agencies. However, external clients using guest WIFI can also ping my internal LAN. Disabling intervlan routing separate VLAN 1 and VLAN 3 properly, but i can't ping my external agencies anymore and i don't know why ?
Behind my Cisco router :
- 1 HP Gigabit switch (servers, VPN router are connected to it)
- 2 Switches (HP and Accton) both linked to the gigabit switch and where all my clients are connected.
No trunk link and vlan are defined on my switches.
What are the SNMP port descriptions relate to on the SRP527? There is nothing in the administration guide and some of the ones that appear up don't make sense.
I think I have worked out a few by elimination but I wanted to confirm a few ...
I need to know it the adsl router SRP547w or SRP546 permits to set class B subnetting ( or class A) on the Lan interface. I read the model SRP527 has a limitation to set ip address on the lan interface but I did not find any information about 547 or 546.

I have configured the device with an ipsec tunnel using an ike profile and the tunnel is created successfully with packets traversing the tunnel. However packets are being dropped intermittently, with no cause. The link is currently not being utilised, there is no load on the network however when I ping Google and any address subject to the rules of the tunnel i notice that a single packet is dropped every now and then.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI have recently managed to configure a setup where I have 2 srp527's one at office one at home.Have 1 fixed IP at the office and 1 fixed ip at home.I have configured the srp at work to be a vpn server and have configured the group and 2 user profiles. This allows me to have 2 concurrent sessions over the vpn to my office from desktop and laptop at the same time. Connections fire up perfectly no problems.From the desktop, I connect using vpn client with user profile 1 Once connected, I then connect to my workstation machine at the office using remote desktop.This gets me super fast access to office files and large spreadsheets without downloading the whole file over the vpn and is working perfectly.
If I then additionally connect from the laptop using the vpn client with user profile 2 the remote desktop connection drops.Disconnect the laptop connection, remote desktop comes back.Have isolated this to being 2 connections arriving at the srp at the office from the same external ip. If I connect my laptop to my phone as a hotspot rather than using my home LAN, both connections are made and remote desktop has no interruptions. Is there a way I can overcome this through re-configuration of the srp at the office or is this a limitation with the srp?
I am trying to setup internet access and intranet access using two cards per PC. I don't have sever software and I want to be able to share files between several machines. I have two routers. One that connects to cable modem and one that connects to intranet side. I have assigned different static ip addresses to both cards.

I don't have another computer to function as a server for me at home, so would like to do it so that my router alone provides this access (log into it from the internet anywhere and use my internet as if I am using it from home). What I would like to do is install a RV042 or RV082 (for added speed) and configure it to allow me to access the Internet (from home base) through the VPN from any location while on the road and using my laptop. My questions are: Can this be done? If so, what needs to be done in the configuration to allow gateway access to the Internet? I can't find any reference in the Cicso documents, but somewhere I saw that it can be done. I don't care about accessing anything on the local LAN. As I would be using the same Internet connection for the VPN and the access to get out----how would this affect speed? I plan to use Quick VPN as the client, and haven't even touched the client issue.

They also kept seeming to become unresponsive when trying to change the settings and continual resets were necessary. 2 of them have now lost a battle with a sledgehammer and before I acquire a new one I want to know if my laptop is somehow infecting these routers, because 3 of them had similar symptoms before they met their fate with a 12 lb sledgehammer.This is in an apartment complex. Next to the cable modem, there is a Netgear router. This router has 4 outputs with ethernet cable going to 3 different apartments, one of them is mine which is in a separate building 200 hundred feet away. Rather than run an ethernet cable this distance, I made a reflective enclosure installed it under a carport and broadcast a signal to my apartment, and this worked great for 3 years. When the router next to the cable modem failed and was replaced, my personal router would no longer transmit the internet to my apartment.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an RVS 4000. I have several PC's to which I have assigned static IP addresses. I have recently upgraded most of the PC's to Win 7 (64) machines. I updated the firmware on the RVS4000 to 1.3.3.5 in conjunction with this. After such update (and actually before as well) I could not assign a static IP address to a PC and have access to the internet. It connects fine to my LAN, just no internet access. This is also affected on several other machines running Win XP and Win 2003 Server, so it's not just this computer.
I have:
1. Shut down (powered off/unplugged) everything, router, DSL modem, switches, server, etc.
2. As I said firmware is current.
3. Yes, DNS servers and gateway, subnet, etc. are all correctly specified on the PC.
4. Router is set for gateway mode.
5. Set to only IPV4.
The only way it allows internet access is to use DHCP. I've even tried taking the IP address via DHCP and manually assigning the DNS servers and that works fine, but as soon as I assign a static IP internet access is immediately gone.
There must be something I'm missing, but I can't seem to find it.
Everything worked fine prior to the conversion of the Win 7 machines, i.e. I had several PC's with static IP's and no problems.
Would there be some reason why I cannot change the Access Restriction to Allow? I also can't add anything into the Website Blocking by URL Address or the Website Blocking by Keyword. I can't type anything in the fields. I've tried rebooting, other browsers and even other computers but nothing seems to work.

PC ping respond DNS name query OK but web browser can not open or show pages (time out error). All router traffic between wired and wireless network the works just fine. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy current network consists of 4 computers, 3 windows 7, 1 Windows Home Server 2003. All are wired to a gigabit unmanaged switch which is connected to a Netgear WNR200V2 router. The router is connected to the cable modem. I replaced the Netgear WNR2000v2 router with a Cisco RV110W firewall which i had preconfigured using another computer. The 3 Windows 7 PC's connected up with no problems. The WHS 2003 computer has no internet access. All 4 computers are visible on the lan and the 3 Win 7 PC can access the internet. I've tried accessing the internet by URL and IP from the WHS with no luck. All computers are assigned static IP's. I've checked all my settings, turned off the firewall in both the WHS and the RV110W with no change. If I plug the Netgear router inplace of the Cisco, all computers including the WHS have internet access. Has to be a setting somewhere in the Cisco router that's blocking the access. IP's for the 3 Win7's are 192.168.1.40, 41,42. Fot the WHS 192.168.1.76.

The internet works fine, but it seems to think that I am not connected to the network. I'm not certain it realized that I even had a network, since when I try to activate media sharing it just gets stuck at "Identifying Network". The whole purpose of this is to be able to play music from my computer on my Xbox 360, alternative solutions for this goal would be good too.

I tried to hook my internet into it and my other computers into it , THINKING, I would be able to get internet on all. No go. I can get inter net on one, as you can tell. but all others nothing. and to make matters worse i got win 2000, win xp pro, and linux that I like to get online.. I have : renewed IP's assin Ip's refresh, purge dns. rebooted. all and rebooted in diferent orders. double checked connections, tested all lines. The network is on a rj45 ethernet .
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter updating the firmware of my WRVS4400N from V 2.0.1.3 to 2.0.2.1 all traffic was blocked for all machines, even some not included in the list of PCs. As the log was showing that all traffic was blocked by access policies, I disabled the only rule I had (blocking access to some sites to some MAC address list) and everything worked fine.I tried creating a new, simpler rule but after activation it blocked again all traffic for all the LAN.After many trials, I decided to roll back to the previous V2.0.1.3 which solved this problem.

When I setup the IAP as number 1, I add the MAC address of the computer in question. I then Select Allow and choose Everyday and 24 Hours. I type in the forbidden domains and click add after each one. I type in the keywords and click add after each one. After I click on Save, all of my computers on the network lose internet access.

I recently purchased a WRVS4400N security router and have got a strange problem with it. I set it up as my main router and connected two computers (a desktop and a server) using DHCP. They both work fine, internet is as fast as it should be, no problems whatsoever. However, when I setup the Wifi SSID (whatever security options I use, same with open/wpa/wpa2) and connect my laptop to it. It is allocated a IP address and windows even says that there is an internet connection. As soon as I try to do anything though, I am dropped. Try to ping an outside server, failure and dropped. Open IE, failure and dropped. I cannot even access my local server connected by wire to the router.If I connect the laptop via a cable to the router everything works, and it continues to work when I unplug it. So this means that right now I walk over to the router and plug my laptop in for 3 seconds before I unplug it and then use the wifi for a couple of hours without any problem. But as soon as I try to turn on my wireless Logitech SqueezeBox or wireless printer, they fail and take my laptop with it..
I have:reset the router, used both firmware 2.0.2.1 and 2.0.1.3 and done a factory reset.Tried to move the router close to the laptop, no difference.
I've installed RV042 for a client of mine. For next two months everything worked without any problems. The issue I've been experiencing lately is when I assign a static IP address to the PC it won't have internet access. Once I allow it to have a dynamically assigned IP then it works fine. The IP I assign isn't part of the DHCP range.

Issues are: WAN 1 port resets to 0.0.0.0 regularly and traffic on WAN 1 fails DNS fails regularly behind the RV016 onlyIntermittent internet connection behind the RV016Slow internet connection behind the RV016Extremely slow DNS query and reply behind the RV016 (DNS resolve takes 1min -1m30)

I recently bought an RVS4000, and unfortunately forget the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" rule, and flashed it to the latest firmware (2.0.2.7). Subsequent to doing that, it has been inconveniently dropping the connection to my ISP and completely locking itself up to a point where a manual reboot is required, usually about 4 hours after any outgoing activity (which usually means 11pm!).
Goggling my way round seems to suggest that this could be a firmware problem. The accepted wisdom is that I need to use the RVS4000 Upgrade Utility to get back to a lower version, so I have downloaded and installed V1.3 from the RVS4000 support area. However, though I think I followed the instructions (including trying setting the host PC to a fixed IP address, which was not supposed to be necessary), but I am consistently getting a "Broadcast Error" message, which I am guessing means that the utility and the RVS4000 aren't talking.
Lost connection to Internet though router appears normal. Belkin router, MacBook.

My N300 Wifi Range Extender does not let me connect to Internet. I can access other systems connected on the main WIfi network, but I cannot access Internet.I observe as well that all systems connected to the Extender appear, from the main Wifi network, having the same Mac address. I believe that my ISP (Telenet) does not accept that, and that this is the reason I cannot connect to Internet. Is there any way to change that behaviour ?
