View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an RV042 VPN tunnel with an RV082.The RV042 has a public IP Address obtained by PPPoE, the RV082 has a public IP Address obtained via Static IP.The problem I see is a really slow performance. Both internet conections are idle and the performance is about 2 or 3 kbyte/s My question are if I should I enable any of this:
- Agresive mode
- NAT Traversal
- IP Compresion
- Dead Pear Detection
How can I troubleshot this slow performance?
We have offices in USA and Venezuela. In our USA office we have a RV042 router and in Venezuela we have a RV082 router. We have connected a VPN tunnel (gateway-to-gateway) between both offices.
The point is:How could we redirect the internet traffic from our Venezuela office (RV082) to the USA Office (RV042) to navigate using USA public IP's?
The reason for this is that we need to use online streaming services which are only available for IP's from USA and we can't use them from the Venezuelan IP's.
We can not use the PPTP option since the equipment which will use the streaming services (like hulu, crackle, etc.) in Venezuela is a Google TV device which doesn't allow the configuration of proxy navegation or PPTP VPN connections itself. That's the reason why we need to do that through the routers.
I have an RV082 and a RV042. I have been able to successfully establish a gateway to gateway vpn connection between them both, but both Routers unable to ping each other and I can't remotely administer each router through the VPN connection.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have RV042 V01 and V03 and RV082 V03.I'm wondering if there's a difference between the default actions taken by the "Logs" interfaces?
In the case of the V01 systems, it appears that I get a Security Notification every hour.In the case of the V03 system, it appears that I rarely get a Security Notification.
I'd like to setup a WCCP in those routers, but as I read, it's not possible.
Another way to circumvent this limitation is to foward a request to the router from the LAN port 80 to a LAN IP, something like:
LAN 1 192.168.1.100:80 -> router -> LAN 2 192.168.1.101:80
I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server. It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere?

We use this software VPN for the card payments (D-TEF) so i have to get it to work. I opened the same ports as i had in the Linux on the RV042 did not work, i opened all port on the RV042 did not work, i put it in DMZ mode and it did not work, i opened it all to the IP address of the computer that has the program on it. The computer with the VPN software has a fixed IP adress.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow to set this new router up correctly in a way that they can get open nat with one Xbox on the network?I have tried to setup the router so that I port forward the following ports:
UDP/TCP | 3074
TCP | 80
TCP | 88
UDP/TCP | 53
The xbox is setup with a static ip address:
IP | 10.141.167.50
Subnet Mask | 255.255.255.128
Gateway | 10.141.167.1
In addition to simple port forwarding, I setup access rules in the firewall with any source to go to the 10.141.167.50 single ip destination. I have also tried with port forwarding off, but upnp on, and the ports setup specifically in that screen for this xbox. Finally, I disabled the port forwardingin the upnp, as well as the port forwarding screen and simply setup port triggering, while leaving the upnp service enabled. After all of that, the xbox would not get open nat. It doesn't make any sense to me that this doesn't work. I even tried turning off all port forwding and triggering and putting the xbox in as the dmz host. No dice. I'm honestly thinking now that there is a problem in the firmware or something that requires some special workarounds. I'm on the new firmware (i.e. 4.1.0.2) and at the end of my rope.
I have activated Protectlink Web. But today i started to get "router is busy" in all pages, so we restarted the router. That problem was solved but now the the web Protection is no longer working. It says activated but licence status says waiting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using Netgear FVS338 Routers / VPN Devices in 3 different locations and honestly I am not happy / impressed with them whatsoever.I have been doing some research and came across the Linksys RV042 and RV082 devices that caught my eye. The question is what is the VPN throughput of these devices?I have gone over the website, spec sheets and they only really say the throughput of the LAN Links and not the WAN Links. I currently have very reliable 20Mb+ Synchronous connections between all 3 sites and have not been able to get any good performance out of the Netgear devices and contacting their support is a joke. They can't tell you anything other than it should work or we will swap out the unit. Well if I have 3 of them that have been purchased at all different times I don't believe that they are all having the same issues. What these units 3DES VPN Throughput and will more than likely be purchasing 3 of which ever once suits our needs immediately.

VPN pass-through is also set on them. The RV0XX port forwarding is set to forward a selection of traffic such as, PPTP, HTTP, HTTPS, RDP, POP3, SMTP and Remote Desk to the external adapter of an SBS 2003 server which processes all operations including ISA and Exchange.Mail for Exchange arrive through both ADSL connections for redundancy. VPN connection requests from remote users to the SBS come in through both ADSL connections. The office fitted with RV042 works fine and does all the following without problems. The office fitted with RV082 has issues. Remote VPN requests comming from ADSL to WAN port 1 of the RV082 connect successfully to the SBS2003 server, but the VPN requests coming from ADSL to WAN port 2 fail to connect! Similarly, incoming mail destined for Exchange don't get through if coming from ADSL of WAN port 2.I have updated the firmware on both RV042 and RV082, but the RV082 still has the above issues.
View 1 Replies View Relatedtelnet/ssh sessions time out after 30 minutes of in-activity This only happens in the case of a server that is setup behind the firewall, and of course port forwarding is used. If one unchecks the radio button for the enable firewall the sessions do not timeout at all. This is very reproducable in all recent (1.3.9) versions of RV042 and RV082 routers.

I need some info on how to open an RV042 config backup (.exp) file. I recently had an RV042 that got very wet and it is now dead, and I do not have another on hand. BUT I do have the config Backup that includes the user MAC authentication list that I really need. Is there a way to get this information other than loading into another RV042.
View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst time VPN newbie. I need to set up vpn for a friends small business using RV082 so, as a test, I set it up here at my home using a very basic config. The network topology looks like:
cloud => cable modem => RV082 => DIR655 => win7 PC
At a remote site, I fire up QUICKVPN, enter necessary data and successfully connect. Bring up Remote Desktop and put in the IP of my home pc and the logon username and, after a minute or two, it says "unable to connect to the computer" (or words to that effect). My home PC has been configured to allow remote desktop connections and this has occured in the past but not since the RV082 installation. There is nothing in the PC's logs nor in the RV082's logs.

I just switched over from AT&T Uverse to time Warner cable for Internet. I bought a Motorola Surfboard sbg6580. I have the surfboard hooked up and all is well. Now I would like to do in put the old 2wire from AT&T in a room upstairs and use it as place I can plug in the Ethernet cords and also transmit another signal. I have what's a called plug link that is plugged in down stairs and then another upstairs and it allows the Internet signal to run through the power lines. So it just about the equivalent of running a cord for down stairs to upstairs. So basically I just need to plug more then 1 thing upstairs that isn't wireless and I would also like to transmit a 2.4ghz signal upstairs and use my Motorola to transmit a 5ghz.How would I set up the 2wire to do this.

I have RV042 and E4200 routers . I tried the manual UPnP port forwarding using Rv042 router and was succesful ( by typing 192.168.1.1 in the explorer and logged in using user name and password )
I am using a linux embedded system whose Internal IP ,Internal port are mapped .This system is connected to one of the LAN ports
I want to try auto UPnP port forwarding both for RV042 router and Linksys E4200 routers
After enabling the Upnp option only and logging out ,Can i add a port mapping entry in this router without logging in using a C++ program which runs on linux embedded system .

gateway: 192.168.188.2
hop count: 1
