Cisco Switches :: SF 300-24P Could Not Get Any Communication To Work

I have a stack of SGE2010P switches with 3 vlans (1, 10 and 255) on it. Connected to it via a trunk port, I have a SF300-24P.On the trunk ports, I have vlan 1 untagged, vlans 10 and 255 tagged (on both sides, obviously).On the SGE2010 stack, I can set a ports primary vlan id to vlan 10, and workstations work correctly.On the SF300, if I set a port to type general, and the ports default vlan to 10  (on the port to vlan page), I cannot get any communication to work.This is my first time with a non-CLI switch, and am having real problems figuring out how to troubleshoot this problem.

we have an SG300 latest 1.3 firmware, we have it acting as our DHCP server, we have a 10.10.1.x range, 10.10.3.x range, and 192.168.24.x range, they are all on seperate VLANs and all can talk to each other which is what we want.  However we have someone who wants to use the 192.168.1.x range to add IP cameras to our network using there own switch.  I figured I'd just setup our server to do DHCP etc and it would communicate with the 10.10.1.x range of IP addresses no problem.  It turns out the SG300s can't do DHCP for that range, so if he has all static address on the 192.168.1.x range how can i setup inter VLAN communication so we can talk to that range?

I have 2 different network topology - network A and network B Both of them are connecting to the same gateway (a firewall) to the net. they're using the same range of public IP pool to NAT the private IPs. in shorts, all setup is almost the same except the devices' brand between A and B.I have no problem to access the webpage using network A. But whenever I attach the same laptop to network B, the same page won't display at all.I've done wiresharking to network B and the result shows "ICMP destination unreacheable (Communication administratively filtered)" which reported by unknown device (suspected to be the webpage's gateway).

I received an SG300-MP as an RMA replacement for a Linksys SRW2008MP and I can't seem to get the SNTP to work.Previously on other devices I have only had to set the SNTP server name or IP address and that was it.  So some of the options of the SG300 are foreign to me.So I first set

     Administration > Time Settings > System Time > Main Clock Source (SNTP Servers)   [X]
 
Then I set several SNTP server IP addresses

Administration > Time Settings > SNTP Unicast
SNTP Client Unicast    [X] Enable

Some servers I set "Poll Interval" and some I didn't because I wasn't sure what this does.The status for all servers indicate "Down" with 31.12.1899 0.0.0 for the "Last Response"/I found those IP addresses via  [URL] Also the setting

     Administration > Time Settings > System Time SNTP Multicast / Anycast

I have disabled, and I don't know what this does either...

But if cisco ip phone 7920 connected  to router 871 then link is up. In the log switche SGE2010P is not event about this.Why are cisco ip phone 7920 not work with switche SGE2010P?

Cisco Switches :: SG300-52 - Device Will Not Work On VLAN

Using a sg300-52 switch I created two VLANs that share a port for access to the internet. All original devices added to the VLANs are functioning correctly so I have to beleive the VLANs are set up correctly. I added a new desktop and an old laptop to the VLAN and neither worked. I was able to get the desktop to work by enabling VLAN tagging in the network adapter. The laptop is 5 years old and it does not have any such setting in network adapter. There are 2 other devices that share the same port with the laptop and they both function properly. My conclusion is that the laptop does not support VLAN tagging. Is there someway to configure the switch to account for this?

i am trying to get a SG300 work as a router between VLAN's?So fare without any lock?Test setup one SG300 switch and 2 PC's  ?Ping works from host to VLAN IP's, but not from host A to host B

Cisco Switches :: SG300 Port Counters Via SNMP / Do They Work

I've got an SG300-10 connected back to back (trunked) with a Cisco 3560X switch, across a fibre link and am seeing some big inconsistencies in terms of unicast data transferred across the ports between them.
 
During a night time window of 4am - 6am I run backups which involves a large copy of files, that almost saturates a GigE link - we can see from the 3560X end that the link is running at a bit over 800MBit/sec of throughput, sustained.  The duration of this transfer is consistent with the size of the files being transferred (ie just over an hour, and is what I'd expect for a data transfer of about that amount).  Back-of-the-envelope calculations indicate that the 3560X is measuring this data throughput correctly.
 
However on the SG300 end of the link, which is also being polled by the same application (Cacti), I'm observing spikey counts of only around 20MBit/sec during that window.  These counters are very obviously incorrect - there's a huge amount more data moving across the port than that.  The incorrect calculations are showing on both the trunk port out of the SG300 (uplink) as well as the interface where the NAS is connected in (which is an access port).
 
Cacti is polling the OID:  .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16.57  which translates to IF-MIB::ifOutOctets.57 = Counter32.I'm running version 1.3.0.62 but this problem is not new to this release - previous releases and 1.2 based releases also had this problem.
 
It looks like multicast traffic may be being counted correctly (that's only a suspicion though), however what I am certain of is that there is a very large discrepancy with the unicast traffic counts.Is this OID the correct one to be using for this switch?

I have a motorola usb modem which is connected to my laptop and i have shared the connection and have an ethernet cable from laptop to wireless modem (TP-LINK) such that other wifi enabled devices can connect to it.Now we have electricity blackouts and when that happens my wireless router gets turned off. Internet on the laptop is working fine, now when the electricity comes back and the wireless router is on, the net does not work on the other wifi devices and only my laptop (as its directly connected to the modem).I have to reboot my laptop for the shared connection to work.

I have no previous Cisco switch experience. I just received a brand new SG200-08 switch. It replaces a small blue Trendnet 5 port switch. I configured the SG200-08 with a static IP address which is on the same subnet as all our wired devices, then I installed it and connected a computer and printer and another switch to it. The other switch is a Dell PowerConnect 2716. I suddenly have no network connectivity with the router any longer. When I plug the network cable that runs from the PowerConnect 2716 into the SG200-08, the link status light will not go on for that port. I am going to be replacing the Dell PowerConnect with a Cisco switch as well, the SG300-10.

For a simple ether channel to work between 2 switches I have configured ports 1 and 2 on both cisco 2960 switches with the channel-group option like this:

I thought the port-channel 1 would get automatically created but it didn't, should it?  And under the port-channel interface should I set this as a trunk or do I do this on the 2 fa interfaces on each switch?

Cisco Switches :: SG300-20 - Radius Idle And Session Timeout Does Not Work

I have an SG300-20 here for testing (firmware: 1.1.2.0, boot version: 1.0.0.4, language version: 1.1.1.6 English). Everything seems to work on it, except, that if I choose Radius authentication by mac address only, then the switch does not honor the Idle-Timeout and Session-Timeout attributes from the Radius server (freeradius).
 
The setup is the following: I have a no name access point plugged in to switch port gi1. The port gi1 is set up for Radius authentication by mac address only. The access point itself is authenticated, no problem with that. If I connect through the access point by (say) a mobile phone, it is authenticated, no problem. The radius server does send the Idle-Timeout and Session-Timeout attributes, I checked it by running "freeradius -X", both are set to 30 seconds. Then I turn off the wireless card in my mobile phone and check the dot1x users by "show dot1x users". My mobile phone's mac address remains there for 5-10 minutes, so the Idle-Timeout and Session-Timeout  does not work.
 
Another way I could resolv this problem is by explicitely asking the switch to reauthenticate the user. Unfortunately there is no CLI command to do just that, I can do however a reauthentication on a port using "dot1x re-authenticate gi1" (for example). But it does not work as it is expected: the switch uses the stored mac-address to reauthenticate the user, so nothing changes on the port (unless something changes in the radius server). I think it should work like the following: remove the authenticated user from the port, and whenever that mac address makes some network traffic, then reauthenticate as if it were a completely new connection. BTW: it would work for me also if I could just remove an authenticated user from a port, but I did not find a command to do that.
 
As a last resort I can simply shutdown the port, bring it up again ("shutdown" and "no shutdown" in the interface config), then all users are removed from the port and they all mush reauthenticate. But it causes a network outage for a couple of seconds for all users on that port, on a busy access point it is quite disturbing, and it is not an elegant way to do this.
 
So my actual question is: is there a way to remove an authenticated user either automatically (Idle-Timeout and Session-Timeout) or manually from this switch?

I am trying get inter vlan routing to work on a DF 300 - 24 port switch.  I have an existing company network on 192.168.111.0 and want to create a vlan on 192.168.1.1 that can talk to 192.168.111.0.  I have enabled layer 3 routing on the switch via console and also provided the ip routing command. I have the following VLAN's:
 
VLAN1 - Default 192.168.111.0
 VLAN2 - 192.168.1.0
 
I have enabled DNS and provided my two DNS servers 192.168.111.82 & 192.168.111.212.  I have set the VLAN1 interface to 192.168.111.217 and VLAN2 interface to 192.168.1.1.
 
Ports FE1 - FE15 are set to access ports and assigned to VLAN1 (untagged) 
Ports FE16 - FE24 are set to access ports and assigned to VLAN2 (untagged)
 
I have set a default route for the switch to 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.111.254 (Draytek 2600 router). I have connected a computer (A) to VLAN1 port FE3 and a computer (B) to VLAN2 port FE16.   I have set Computer A default gateway to 192.168.111.217 and its IP address to 192.168.111.94.    I have set Computer B default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and IP to 192.168.1.2.   
 
Computer A has access to Mdaemon, file server via network drives but no internet (cannot ping google) and can ping computer B and RDP onto computer B.
 
Computer B can ping computer A and RDP onto computer A but does not have access to the company network i.e MDaemon, file server etc.   It also cannot access the internet.
 
From the console I can ping [URL]and all ip addresses in the company network i.e. 192.168.111.82 (DNS server).  If I scan computer A wirh wireshark the internet starts working weird!

I have a linksys wrt54gs wireless router (working fine since last 3 years) which connects to the internet fine if there is no password set. However if i set WEP password to protect the wireless connection, i am not able to connect to the wireless connection. Everytime i enter the passphrase, when trying to connect to the wireless network, it refuses to accept the password. I have tried this with 2 laptops (both running windows 7) and both have same issue.

I have a customer who has vlan's and SVIs residing on a core 6509. the 6509 is connected to an ASA 5515 then out to the internet/sp edge deviceIP routing is not turned on. there is a static route on the 6509 that routes all ip's to the inside interface of the asa 5515 that the 6509 core is connected to.there is a set of vlans that are apart of a 192.168.128.0/19 subnet and all those vlans can "speak" to each other.

I am working on a Cisco 5510 with multiple interfaces and requirements. I have experience with Cisco IOS, but not too much with the ASAs. I seem to be getting a bit confused on the NATing and ACLs on a firewall that was started by another employee, who is no longer here. With my current config I can get the firewall in place (we are currently using an older PIX) and most basic functions work except for two key things: 1) communication from the finance interface to the inside interface. The finance subnet has some restrictions that you will see in the ACL- we are trying to limit connections to the those systems, but they need to be able access an e-mail server on the inside. 2) communication from the DMZ interface to the inside interface. Maybe related to the first problem?

I have created a new DMZ and a LAN on my ASA5510.My Ethernet DMZ port is connected directly to a server (192.168.220.10) This server is able to get to the internet properly.Gateway ASA router: 192.168.220.222..My Ethernet LAN port is connected to a L3 switch, This L3 switch is connected to a server (192.168.210.11). This server is able to get to the internet properly.My issues is that I cannot communicate from my 192.168.210.11 server to my DMZ server 192.168.220.10. From my 192.168.210.11 server I can ping my gateway 192.168.210.1 and 192.168.210.222. But I cannot ping 192.168.220.222. [code]
