I have a SF 300-24 24-Port 10/100 Managed Switch and I am trying to set some VLANs. The image below shows how I want it to be setup:Since the remote site goes through the Internet, making port 20 an 802.1Q trunk over the two VLANs will give WAN connectivity to VPN/E-mail.I've tried all sort of settings [ see attachments] but can't get it work.

The GUI page - assign VLAN to port does not allow to remove it.Aslo, what mode shall I set up on port 1? General, trunk or access ?

I have a SF300 24 P and Iam trying to configure a voice vlan this is what I have done so far and it doesnt work.
1. create vlan 30 for voice traffic and enable it
2. Telephony OUI add my mac address for allworx phones
3. Port to VLAN add 30 has tagged, port to vlan 1 untagged
4. Vlan to port I try to add 30 and get this error (Port e15 is candidate in voice Vlan 30 and cant be configured as static member in the vlan.
5. Under Discovery LLDP, LLDP MED port Setting Enable MED status, then all other options to yes
In my LLDP neighbor information all my phones are there and says under port ID 0 ( my phones support LLDP and CDP)
I have a Cisco SF300-24P deployed at a customer prem running only a couple VLAN's - 1 customer related and 1 for management. Recently the customer inquired about changing his connection to Q-in-Q. I have changed the interface type to customer but then it selects vlan 4095 as the vlan associated to that port. How do I change that vlan or by default is that the only vlan I can use? Currently the customer is using vlan 904 and would like to continue to use that vlan in the Q-in-Q config.

I get no outbound audio on calls I can call out hear them fine they cant hear me. I am wondering if my tagged traffic leaving the phone is being striped and if so were. I have CDP turned off.

I connect a WRV210 router with Small Business 100 Series Unmanaged Switch SG 100-16 Switch. But the switch is not work with the router.In the port of switch (connect with router), no light. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a SG300-28P switch. I just read in the Administration Guide that, when in Layer 3 mode, the switch doesn't support MAC-based VLAN or Dynamic VLAN Assignment.
So, in order to assign a client to a VLAN based on their MAC or based on the response of a RADIUS server, we have to disable layer 3 features. Without layer 3 switching, the switch is unable to act as a default gateway and forward packets between VLANs. As a result, the VLANs can't communicate in any way, or access the internet, unless a separate router is connected to every VLAN. Right? Doesn't this limitation significantly reduce the usefulness of the DVA feature?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am about to buy 2x Series 500 switches but before that I have a design to be sure :I want to create a redondant network so it is the reason why I want to stack 2x Series 500 switches.Each server on my network (ESX and Windows 2008) are connected with two NIC (one port on the first switch , one port on the second switch), with trunk mode + etherchannel for LACP.
First question : I saw that the limitation is up to 8 etherchanel groups, can I have a mix of multiple servers on the same etherchannel group or should I create one etherchanel group for one server with only the two NIC inside?
Second question:I want to use the series 500 to do intervlan routing and want to be sure that if the the ports are in trunk mode with some vlan set on the card itself that the default gateway for the vlan will be propagated on the two switches (in stack mode) and will not cause any issues when both switchs works fine and if one switch crashes?
Using a sg300-52 switch I created two VLANs that share a port for access to the internet. All original devices added to the VLANs are functioning correctly so I have to beleive the VLANs are set up correctly. I added a new desktop and an old laptop to the VLAN and neither worked. I was able to get the desktop to work by enabling VLAN tagging in the network adapter. The laptop is 5 years old and it does not have any such setting in network adapter. There are 2 other devices that share the same port with the laptop and they both function properly. My conclusion is that the laptop does not support VLAN tagging. Is there someway to configure the switch to account for this?

I've tried to do this through the GUI and can't seem to make it work. I'm missing something in the GUI.
Updated formware of a partners ESW224 to the current GA code.I tried to add a ACL to a ESW switch. The switch was connected to a SA520.
I setup a guest network on a AP541 and propogated that guest VAP VLAN down through a ESW224 and down to a SA520.
On the SA520 I disabled IP routing between VLANs. All worked OK.
Guest and corporate clients could get differeing IP addresses deopending on which VAP they connect to.
But the wireless guests could still ping the management interface of the SA520. This is a security violation for the partner.Tried to setup a ACL on a ESW224 to deny traffic from getting to the normal corporate vlan or 192.168.75.0.
But received a popup on the ESW when i tried to create a ACL. It suggested there is a lack HW resources.
I disabled ESW advanced QOS.Tried to add a ACL , but still have a error message saying lack of HW resources.Why do I get a message saying lack of HW resources ?
I have downloaded the ros file, but can't find how to apply it. I know this information must be out there, but can't find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a small, simple small business network. There are 2 switches - an 8-port switch connected to my main Windows server (which is the DHCP provider for the network), and a 24-port switch which is plugged into the 8-port switch.
I replaced these switches (Dell unmanaged switches) with the Cisco 200 series smart switches (the 8-port and 26-port models). When I plug the 26-port switch into the 8-port switch, it is unable to get its DHCP address from the Windows server. Also, any device plugged into the 26-port switch cannot communicate with any other device, and all of the ethernet port lights flash at the same time at the same frequency - quite a light show!
If I plug the Windows server DIRECTLY into the 26-port switch it receives a DHCP address.
I have tried a 2nd Cisco 26-port swtich and it does the same thing, so I assume it is not a hardware issue.
We have over 30 Cisco 3560 switches and over 10 VLANs on our network. In our example, VLAN 10 on switch IP 10.0.20.150 works fine and VLAN 10 on switch IP 10.0.20.24 doesn’t work. When we enable the port channel mode to as desirable to the interfaces on both side and applied the port channel to physical interfaces switch will go down and if we remove on any one side switch will come up. we have enabled globally the following commands. [code]
For test I used 2 Switch that name "ESW X" and "ESW Y" I have 2 network that I named "Network A" and "Network B" I build 2 VLAN for each network that named Vlan 2 for Network A and Vlan 3 for Network B, I don't use Vlan 1 because it's the default Vlan

I'm setting up an SNMP poller to retrieve the ARP table (ipNetToMediaPhysAddress) from my SF300 switches. I can retrieve the table from SF300-24P and SF300-48P switches running Firmware Version 1.0.0.27, but get garbage for the MAC address when retrieving that same table on the same model switches running Firmware Version 1.1.1.8. Is there an outstanding defect on this code level? How can I retrieve the table showing the IP address to MAC address mappings?
