Cisco Switches :: SG 300-28P How To Default Port Config
Jan 7, 2013
I'm used to using full blown cisco IOS/CLi and I'm new to the SG 300 switches. How you can default a port config? The 'default int ##' command doesn't exist on the CLi and I can't find anywhere in the web gui for this.Finding it very frustrating having to go into each port and get rid of all the commands.I can't default the switch as its live and was to reconfigure most of the ports which are now unused.
Dear The ADSL Modem CISCO867-K9 is not connecting to our NAS router with default mtu value in the NAS router virtual template. With the below settings my ADSL 867 connecting , but if i remove the (mtu 1440 and ip tcp adjust-mss 1392 , this modem is not connecting. [code]
now we have 2 switches: SF300-24..on one SF300-24 we config it at layer 3 mode with VLAN configuration same as following [code] And we use port 26 on 2 switches SF300-24 is trunk mode then we connect both SF300-24 switches. But on SF300-24 layer 2 cann't inderstand VLAN from Sf300-24 layer 3..How to config VLAN on 2 switches SF300-24 Layer 3 and SF300-24 layer 2?
I can SSH from the internet to my ASA on default port 22, directly to my public IP. I can SSH from the internet to my Cisco 1841 on port 2001. I can not however, SSH to my Cat 2960. From what i can tell, on the Cat2960 i can't change the default port 22 for SSH to different port, just like i did on the Cisco 1841. I looked to see if I can change the default port for SSH on he ASA, it does not look like this is an option.
The bottom line is that i want to be able to SSH to all three devices from the internet. I only have one public IP. As of now, what i can do is only SSH to the ASA on default port 22 directly to the public IP and Cisco 1841 on port 2001. It appears that changing the default SSH port on Cat 2960 is not an option. It also appears that I can't change the default SSH port on the ASA, if i could, i would and then i should be able to SSH to the Cat 2960 on port 22. No matter what i did on the ASA, it always listens on port 22 for SSH connections.
show asp table socket TCP 001f549f <<pub IP>>:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
how do i make it listen on different port?
Here is relevent config for SSH for cisco 1841 (port forwarding)
I am using a couple cisco sg300 28P switches along with a sonciwall firewall/router. The sonicwall was already in place and working so they didnt want to replace it. I understand how to configure the vlan on the sonicwall, but could use some info on the cisco. I would basically like to create 3 vlans, 1 default for management, 2 for pc's on lan, and 3 for the cisco spa504g phones/'voip. Would i just go into the vlan managment, configure the 2 new vlans and give them two id's? These offices have one network drop, so the phones and pc's will be sharing the switch ports, however the phones have a setting to configure the vlan id so they know which one theyre on. Is there anything i need to do after that? I want to make sure that vlan 3 has the highest priority becuase its voice, is there some qos configurations i need to make on that switch as well? Also, the port that links the two cisco swtiches together, does that need to be set as "trunk" port? I understand what vlans are, but its just the first time ive run into these cisco models. .
WLAN Controller 4400 series connected to Catalyst 4506 on vlan 12. Access switches got managment vlan 5 and vlan 1 shutdown. what config is needed on ports were Access points are connected. Access switch is in vtp client mode.
I have Linksys SPS224. I've learnt how to change some parameters through SNMP. But this changes are applying to running-config, and, when switch reboots, all loose.
How can I save this changed running-config to startup-config through SNMP?
Is this known bug that you cannot backup (export) full running or startup config from this switch? Will this be fixed in next firmware? (btw, still no new firmware with CDP support for this script altough sales literature mentions that it should have already been available...)Switch does let you backup configuration as text file (which looks similar to normal IOS config syntax), but it doesn't contain all settings so the file is pretty much useless to restoring the config to another switch. At least following settings are missing from the file:
- management interface config (including DNS settings) - passwords - remote syslog server config - SNTP server config - IGMP config - LLDP config
I have a small doubt with Nexus 7k,5K,2k & 1K.We want to backup the running config to my desktop through tftp. When i tried to backup from Nexus switches showing like below Nexus 7K. [code]
It's showing two choices which one I have to follow "copy running-config startup-config" or "copy running-config startup-config Vdc-all". [code]

I have two 4506 switches in my organization. Recently the office was relocated and when both the switches were booted they ignored the startup config. The config-reg was set to 0x2101. No boot system command was configured. So I changed the config-reg of SW1 to 0x2102 and gave boot system command as stated below. When reloaded the switch booted to ROMMON and I had to manually boot the IOS.I want them to boot normally with IOS.Config of SW2 is not changed since relocation. I am specifying both configs bor your consideration. [code]
I have a 3750 catlyst switch in my network and it is like a distubation switch,And for the nating and dhcp nomadix is using as gateway in the same network. for one of my local PC i need to config the port forwarding in 3750 switch. How to config the port forwarding on 3750 switch,
I have a WS-CE520-8PC Switch. I have tried a full 30/30/30 reset, factory reset, and I am still unable to access the express setup page. Running Win7 x64 on the host os (have tried windows 2000 and xp)It also wont allow me to access direct managment mode when pressing the admin button for 10 sec.
I have 2 cisco 6500 in a VSS configuration , All of my Lan access switches are Stack switches and every Stack is connected to the VSS in a Port-channel so basically this is a loop free environment with no blocked ports .As a best practice I left STP in the Background (mstp)which enhanced cisco features to STP should I configure on the Aggregator (6500-VSS) and on the Access switches ?
Because of my topology I dont see the need in configuring most features like Uplink Fast and Backbone Fast but I have configured Loop Guard in addition to UDLD on the 6500 Aggregation Switches (on the port-channels).On the access ports I have configured portfast , bpduguard and guard root (seems a little pointless to configure the two...)
1.should I Leave UDLD on and get rid of LoopGuard and configure Guard root instead ? since LoopGuard cannot be configured with Guard Root.
2.should I configure GuardRoot on access ports if I already have BpduGuard on them ?
3.Is there anything I need to configure on the physicall interface or is everything configured on the port-channel since STP reguards port- channel as a single interface ?
I have a scenario where 15 c500 switches and 5 2960 8 port switch connected to 4507R core switch. There are 10 dhcp pools created on the 4507.
Eg: ip dhcp pool XXXX network xxxx.xxxxxxx default-router x.x.x.x
Now the default router is directed to vlans created on the switch i.e vlan 101, 102, 103 and so on. Now the remaining switches connected are configured to be in the same vlan. So the systems connected to the edge switches will get the DHCP ip automatically, Now my problem is after sometime (may be 2 or 3 hrs) all the edge switches are losing configuration automatically even though it's not restarted, even after saving the config on to nvram, everytime I connect the console and check all the saved config is lost?
I cannot open the config page of beetel adsl2 router using 192.168.1.1I have connected my laptop to router via Lan cable. Now when I give the ipconfig, I get some random IP and does not get the default gateway: Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.129.188 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :I cannot ping 192.168.1.1 nor 169.254.129.1 thus the web page of router cannot be opened. This all happened after I reset my router.
I have two 5548's in sync mode: I have an existing ACL and I want to add a new line to it, but after I do and try to commit it states the verify failed. [code]
I have to add access list to both switches not in config sync mode.
If i connected the latop to brand new out of the box ASA 5505 through consloe cable and i have a config file on this laptop from other ASA5505, is there anyway i can upload that config file into startup-config of this new ASA5505 through console cable, without using TFTP or FTP?
I have a Cisco 2811 router and when I turn of the router the running config is lost. I have to the following to get the router running of the start-up config settings.
Signed onto pc as admin, logged into router with correct user name and password. No page in the browser based configuration displays the complete information for the page. Menus are missing as are option labels, etc. The last time I accessed the router (about a year ago) I didn't have this problem.
Vlan 10 is the management VLAN, and it uplinks to our border router.Vlan 20 is the workstation VLAN, and all workstations point to the switch as their default GW? Vlan 30 is the ip phone VLAN, and all phones use this as their gateway.
I would like to put a LAG between said switches, we have some servers on the ip phone switch that need to be accessed by the workstation clients, and the single 100mb link through the router is probably not going to be enough. As I understand it, because the switches have different networks on them, a simple lag will not work. I did create a lag, and assign ip addresses to each side, however in that mode, it doesn't appear I can block vlan 10 from transiting the LAG, and with out that block I will end up with a logical loop, and spanning-tree will block one of the uplinks, or the LAG itself.
i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.i have supressed this port mirroring.when i try to reconfigure a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE3. The SF200 web interface crash. the SF200 seems to reboot.
i have updated the SF200 firmware from V1.1.2.0 to V1.1.2.9.44 when i was able to configure (via SF200 web interface) a port mirroring from port FE17 to FE7.But after having suppressed this port mirroring again, i was not able to reconfigure a new port mirroring from port FE1 to FE3 (the SF200 hangs).
i have also tried to return to default factory setting but this does not solve the issue.i am working on SF200-24P
We need to "reset" a SG200-08P switch back to the factory default settings and noted the "Quick Start Guide" implies the "Reset" button next to the power button doesn't exist and refers the user to the "Cisco Small Business Smart Switch Administration Guide" for instructions. We couldn't find any information related to a "factory reset" in that document either. Pressed the "paper clip button" on the switch but we still can't get in.
Unable to log in into our new ESW 540 switch because the default User ID and PW was changed. How do i restore the factory default on the switch. Can't get into the switch with CCA or explorer.
Lastnight I power cycled my cable modem, and router in an attempt to get a Slingbox to work. What ended up happening is that after the modem and router came back online all the computers on my wired home network changed their default gateway to the IP of the modem and not the router. Two of the computers are fixed now, but one of the laptops is still not able to get to the internet using DHCP. I can use a static IP with the correct default gateway for the router, and succesfully get to the internet, but then I can't see my server on my netowrk. And the same is true in reverse, in order to see my server I have to go back to DHCP, but I can't get on the internet
I'm running several game and file servers via a dynamic IP, which I unfortunately cannot change to a static connection for several reasons. I've solved this by using No-IP, which is a Dynamic IP resolution service. This solved the first part of my problem - I can give people IP's for their websites, such as myfreemusic.sytes.net and so forth, but they all HAVE to append their ports to the url - i.e.
site1.sytes.net:90 site2.sytes.net:91
My main problem right now is the game servers - I'm hosting games that default host to 25565, and though I can change the ports the server hosts from, I must give those who want to connect the ports at the end of their urls, i.e.
server1.sytes.net:25566 server2.sytes.net:25567
I know DNS is essentially agnostic when it comes to ports, so no solution there. And I don't think the game (Minecraft vis-a-vis bukkit) supports SRV records, and even if they did, I'd have no idea how to configure them. How can I resolve static urls redirecting to a dynamic IP by pointing them to ports?
To simplify the question -
How can I make server1.sytes.net resolve to port 25566, and server2.sytes.net resolve to port 25567 when the default port is set to 25565?
I got question about Cisco SF300-24P- is it possible to have management vlan in other vlan than in default vlan?I have default vlan 10 and voice vlan 20, I need to reach switch through voice vlan so I need to set up, interface vlan 20 with ip address. I ask these, because in gui, under Management Interface, IPv4 interface, under Management VLAN, I can only choose vlan 10, which is my default vlan, I dont have option to set ,up, in this case, vlan 20 as management vlan.
I have an SG500 that is already deployed with some Access VLANs on it. The PVID is still the default 1. I am trying to change it to 19 with as little interruption as possible. If I just go to the VLAN Management Tab and change the Default VLAN to 19 and reboot the switch, will it migrate my management IP to the default VLAN without any trouble? Would it be less interruption to: Create VLAN 19, assign it an out of subnet IP address, change a port to PVID 19, connect directly to that port, go to that IP address, remove the original management IP from PVID1, change all the ports to PVID19 then change the management IP back to the original?
I have been net searching this question and I find answers relative to other Cisco products but not for the 6500 series. We are running entservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF17a.bin and would like to know how to change the default SSH listening port..
