I have 2691 Router conencted to Internet and it is doing Nat. This connects to 3550A Switch which has connection to 1811W Router.
I setup VPN between 1811W and 3550A. 3550A has connection to 2691 via ospf.

I have got two links from the same ISP, primary and secondary and connected to two different switch. The ISP have passed the trunk vlan of 30, 31 and 32 on both of the links. The ISP can't provide stp. I have got another managed 2960 series switch. How can I obtain failover on switch level.

One of our customer , where there 2 6509 switch , one is Core_sw1 and other is Core_sw2 , catering about 32 Vlan , and HSRP in running for all Vlans , till here no problem , now there internet Router which having one Internet link , which connected and configured on Core_sw1 in a way that one interface of Core_sw1 is given Public IP and there is vlan 85 which internet vlan and vlan 85 ip are natted with that public IP with one simple static route given toward internet router , this is how internet is working ok.
Now i have configured vlan 85 in hsrp as all other are , how can give redundancy to vlan 85 user , that if Core_sw1 get down , internet traffic can get out through Core_sw2.using same internet router with single internet link .i am not talking of ISP redundancy , but Vlan 85 in Core_sw1 goes down , other Core_sw2 will server internet.
Just yesterday my laptop could connect to the Internet. Now it would just connect to the modem (via wi-fi), and there would be no Internet connection. All other computers in my house using wi-fi work fine.Here are my results when I type in the ipconfig /all in the command prompt.

I have a windows 7 laptop and i have bridged my wireless with my ethernet port on it, i have directly connected my ubuntu server to my windows 7 laptop via crossover, and ubuntu says its connected, but it will not recieve internet. I can get 2 windows pc's to bridge successfully, but not a linux machine. Is there some configuration im missing or something that i missed? the goal is to get internet for my ubuntu server.

First 3750 is hub also connected to internet, second 3750 is spoke and acting as a router on stick. We have eigrp configured on both side ISP provided client 100Mbps link as a trunk with two vlan; vlan10 for voice and vlan20 for data. We assigned two small subnets to these vlans 10.15.17.0/29 and 10.15.17.9/29. Hub addresses are 10.15.17.1 and 10.15.17.9 respectively. How to force voice over VLAN10 and data via vlan20, but still do some load balancing? How to setup default route on second (router on stick) switch?

On one of our routers (running bgp and ospf), we are redistributing ospf to bgp. This router has a loopback interface which is advertised in ospf.

I am confused about "Redistributing via bgp 64999" part.....Under router bgp, we are redist only ospf and static routes, but using route-maps like this:
redistribute static route-map STATIC2BGP
redistribute ospf 1 route-map OSPF2BGP
Obviously it won't match redistribute static because it is not static, but connected interface...And 10.22.0.24 does not appear in match statement in route-map OSPF2BGP, how is it still shown as "Redistributing via bgp 64999"?
client originally connects to the 4500E, moves to the 2960s and then cannot connect back to the 4500E.My design is a 4500E (configured for routing) and a 2960s. The 2960s is trunked to the 4500E, no vlan pruning.
Tried;
- shut/no shut port on the 4500E doesn't work
- no result for sh ip arp | i (clients mac) or sh mac address | i (clients mac) on the 4500E
The only way I can get the user back online is removing the 2960s, not a desirable solution as other clients are on the 2960s.
I recently removed a catalyst 2950 switch code version: c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-13.EA1 ?I had an ASA 5505 connected as a switchport access to the 2950 on port 44. We will call the VLAN that the ASA sits on: VLAN 404. The 2950 had a trunk to our catalyst 6509 distribution switch carrying that VLAN 404. We also have a another VLAN for computers that sits on: VLAN 129, this is a standard DHCP vlan and it accounted for the rest of the switchports. The 2950 also has this trunked to our 6509 distribution switch.
Everything was working fine with that setup.After replacing the 2950 with a 3560 we started running into problems. The 3560 was configured the same exact way as the 2950. What was happening is that computers that sat on VLAN 129 started experiencing packet loss and were unable to work. It's as though the ASA was taking over the switch.
Is there a protocol that is enabled by defult on the 3560 that would do this?
Cisco 1811 device. Working great with connection from TWTELCOM, trying to add 2nd connection from BRTHOUSE set SLA's and metrics but config still isn't working. The connection won't come up and when I do show ip route ip address it doesn't show a metric so neither connection has a priority and the connection fails. I want brighthouse to have priority as shown with SLA's but if brighthouse fails I want it to go back to twtelcom. [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just completed installation of a stacked pair of 3850s in my datacenter. While I was installing them, I noticed that the lights on ports 1-8 on one of the switches were on solid even though there were no cables connected to that switch. I don't see anything in the logs or anywhere else in the CLI that indicate a problem, however the lights remain on. This only happens on switch 1, not switch 2. Once I plugged the cable into port 1, it flashes normally with activity, but 2-8 remain on solid even though nothing is connected to them.
Before I put the switches in place, I had configured them at my desk with the console connection, and those lights were not lit up.
The indicators on the front of both switches are set in STAT mode. I thought initially I had hit the button and flipped it to a different mode, but that is not the case.
I have a CAT 3560 connected to a ISR 2911 The 3560 has 2 subnets ( 192.168.1.0 /24 and 10.10.10.0 /24) The 2911 has interface GigabitEthernet0/1 on the 192.168.1.0 /24 and another GigabitEthernet0/0 on a WAN connection 172.16.7.246 I need to NAT both the 192.168.1.0 /24 and the 10.10.10.0 /24 to the single address 172.16.7.246 I have to use route-maps . I have IPSec VPN's and ZBF on the 2911 My problem is the NAT does not work for the 10.10.10.0 /24 network!Why?is my only option to use trunking between the 3560 and 2911 and subinterfaces on the 2911? My Data Center has one single core switch where is connected several servers, one port is the link to the router wan and other port is the link to the FW, my boss wants to install 2 nexus in order to replace the single switch. All my network has only one address, for example 192.168.10.0/24 if I connect two nexus 7010 in VPC and Domain, each nexus is going to has 2 modules with 48 port 10/100/1000 rj45 and i wan to connect servers directly to each nexus, with this figure i'm going to have a group of servers connected in two different nexus, Do they can have the same network 192.168.10.0/24 considering that the nexus are in the same vdc and vlan and have only one gateway for both groups? If the answer is positive, which nexus would be the gate way for that address, the primary or secondary? Or i must have a different address for both group of servers, i mean for example 192.168.10.0/24 and 192.168.12.0/24?thus each nexus would be the gateway for that new address?
To have two nexus connected by VPC in a Domain mean that one computer connected to one nexus can share the same address or vlan with other computer connected to the other nexus????
We have a 3750X VTP Server and the rest of the switches are clients.
Due to cabling issues, we have a switch (Switch F) that we can't connect directly to the 3750X so we have it connected through another switch. Everything is set to VTP client with the correct domain and password but this not-directly-connected switch isn't receiving any VTP VLANs.
Anything I need to do on Switch D so that Switch F can receive the VTP updates?
I have a 3560G connected to an ASA FW, both running layer 3 and hosting 6 or so VLANs. The switch is the default gateway for all VLANs (client request) and therefore see's all networks as connected. I used route maps to push the traffic from the switch to the FW so that it got firewalled before being delivered, but I cannot use one of the commands for failover should the FW fail (I wanted to route locally should the FW fail). If I placed all VLANs in their own vrf, NETA would not longer see NETB as a connected network and would follow the route to the FW's NETA interface. I could then inject the connected into each vrf but adjust theirf metric so that they are less preferable than the route to the FW. Should the FW route die, the next route would become active and traffic would route internally to the switch.

I will be sending voice and data traffic between the two and my voice traffic will be marked DSCP EF & EXP 5.
Since the 2960's and 3750's can't match on the EXP bits, I am wondering if the "mls qos trust dscp" command still works. Is the 2960/3750 able to match on DSCP even though there's an MPLS header on top of the IP packet?
I'd like to avoid having to tag my VLAN traffic on the PE and rely on COS to achieve QoS in this case.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made a routed port on 3560G Switch and defined a pool 172.28.4.62 255.255.255.192 and connected to E1 converter RAD (4E1 to 4 FE) the E1 media is through Microwave on the other end same E1 converter is connected through layer 2 switch and defined a pool as of routed port configured in 3560G switch.
The port is generating lot of giants and after a while it also distrubs other routes ( Port1 to Port 16), configured with Vlan11 and port 22 as routed port.I have checked the routed port through wireshark the maximum frame size is 1514 and configured the MTU to 1514, giants are not showing any more but after 10 to 12 hours switch gets hang. Either to shut the port or to reload the switch to get switch and other layer routes to be normal.
I have checked speed and duplex settings same as E1 converter. Full duplex. 100 Speed. Why switch is not behaving normal. If I shutdown the routed port it is normal.

Nexus infrastructure is pair of N7K switches, with dual homed 5K/2K devices connected, links use vPC. They want to extend vlan's from the 5K/2K side across a L2 path into another DC, this path is only connected into one of the N7K switches, call this 7K switch A.I'm concerned that packets from the 5K/2K side back to the remote DC could get dropped due to the vPC loop dectection process. If a packet from the 5K/2K side traverses the path into the same N7K (7K switch A) as the L2 extension, I dont see a problem. But, if the etherchannel load balance in the 5K sends traffic to the packet to N7K B, in order to get to the L2 path extension to the remote DC the packet gets forwarded across the vPC. My understanding is that this packet will get dropped by N7K A as its local L2 path to the remote DC is up, is this the case?I see a solution is to plug the L2 path into a 2K, but before I suggest this is my understanding of the loop detection process correct?
