I have a 1250 AP connected to an Switch Cisco 3750. We have a SSID(v lan 1 - native) which get an IP Address from our DHCP Server(located in a Windows 2003 server). I added a new SSID in VLAN 2 and I would like no to use the DHCP Server but to make the AP get an IP Address from the pool I created in the own AP (ip dhcp pool Guest) but every time I try to connect the new v lan, it doesn't get an ip address.
Follow the settings of the AP.

My Speedtouch 516v6 modem does'nt provide gateway adress to the TP-Link router. The modem can work in bridged mode or routed mode and I want to use routed mode. TP-Link has PPPoE mode but I would like to use a dynamicIP mode in which the router obtain network parameters from the modem and it does, but it does not obtain a gateway address.
View 2 Replies View RelatedToday when we run one applcation to access a target server with IP address 10.2.2.13, the application cannot run through and appearing error message related networking.The target server has two network ports whereby another one with IP 10.2.2.14 is running OK with the same application. All these two connections are connected to the same Cisco switch 3750, after the switch then go to Cisco ASA firewall which has no access control rule for this 10.2.2.13 and its subnet, and then the firewall connect directly to the application server.We can ping, remote desktop access and telent port for the application to the target server by using 10.2.2.13.We swapped the cable connection of the ports from one another and try the application again, the IP with 10.2.2.13 is still fail and IP with 10.2.2.14 is OK.We then change the IP from 10.2.2.13 to 10.2.2.12 or 10.2.2.155, all are OK. We changed back to 10.2.2.13, it is failed again.The switch is in running real time production and so we cannot power cycle or reload the switch.

If I connect a laptop to int fa1/0/10 I DO NOT get an IP address from the 10.100.0.8 scope. If I connect to another interface within the VLAN 1, I get an address from the 10.100.0.0 range.
I have a 3911 router with a 1242 AP. The problem that I have is that when the user is trying to connect, the user get the OS Ip address 169.254.168.154 and I see that when I do the "show dot11 association" command, but when I do sh ip dhcp binding on the router I see

We have 2 nexus 7010 switches configured with HSRP in the network. For all the vlans core1 is Master and Core2 is standby. In the current setup we have external dhcp server and dhcp relay is configured for all the vlans on Master and standby switch. The setup is running the IOS 5.2
Activity Done: During the Maintainacne activity, we isolated core1 switch in the network by disabling the vpc/keepalive and all the uplinks from access switch. The core2 switch was master for all the vlans.
Issue observed: It has been observed that new users were not getting ip address from the dhcp server. The ethereal capture showed that dhcp server was not getting the dhcp requests from the core2 switch. We disabled the dhcp feature in core2 and enabled again with dhcp relay again configured on vlan interfaces .even after doing this no change was observed in behaviour. Finally we got core1 back in network by enabling all the links.
Observation: The moment VPC link came up between the core switches, users started getting ip's from dhcp. Then we started enabling all the uplinks on core1.Core1 again become master for all the vlans and users continued getting ip’s. Network running fine.
Further Testing
1. For one of the vlan, core 2 switch has been made primary and for new users checked the dhcp functionality and it was working fine. The aim was to identify if anything wrong on core 2 related to dhcp relay
2.Again we changed the priority for this vlan and made core1 master for the same. This time we disabled this vlan on core1 and tried new user with core 2 became master and dhcp functionality worked fine for new user. Actually in this case we have simulated the same behaviour when we observed the issue with only difference of VPC was not available during the issue time as core 1 was isolated form network
Inputs needed.
Is there any known behaviour for dhcp functionality when VPC is unavailable? If we see the test scenario2 (wherein core1 was master for the vlan and we disable this vlan on core 1 and core 2 was able to relay dhcp requests for new users in this vlan.) it was actually same as scenario we observed during issue time..

I have the unit set up to provide two dns servers to the clients, but the 4200 always provides itself as a third and it uses my cable providers dns servers. I am using a dns based filtering service to prevent certain material from being accessed within my network as the first two resolvers. So long as both or one of the provided servers is working it doesn't fall back to the unfiltered third, but I would prefer to remove it entirely.

I have PC_A and PC_B connected to the same switch, and are put in the same vlan. PC_A is the master (source) and PC_B is the destination (client). IGMP Snooping is enabled by default.
Is there any reason why this should fail? There is no RP or any interface with PIM enabled. Its a flat network with a source and client in the same vlan...

But when a PC try to obtain IP automatically, it doesn't work.
i created the 10 V LAN in my Cisco 3750 switch.All other V LAN DHCP IP's (192.168.2.X - 192.168.10.X) will be release from the DHCP server except VLAN1 . In my 3750 switch i created DHCP pool(192.168.14.X).... and i assigned to VLAN10.... but one of the client is assigned to V LAN 2(192.168.2.X) configuration. but its getting IP from the Cisco DHCP instead of DHCP server.

The hyper terminal works with other switches so the problem is not with the hyper terminal.when I tried to break the password it stuck after I was writing "flash_init" and when I entered or typed text it show only garbage characters. I tried to break the password with all the speeds and it shows garbage output. I tried to turn on the switch and hold control + break and it showed the text only with the speed 115200, but after I left holding and tried to type it showed only garbage again. Also I tried to copy text from the notepad to the hyper terminal.

Configuration from various reason CANNOT be done on switch where 100Mbit line is terminated.. so all must be done on SW1,2,3..Correct me if iam wrond but as switches doesnt see traffic from other network iam affraid only think we can do is limit bandwidth on links going into SW1,2,3 to 33 Mbit.I found commad srr-queue bandwidth limit.But links going to SWs are 1Gbit so if i force bandwidth to 10% (minimum what command allows) its 100 Mbit..If I force speed on those links to 100Mbit and than apply srr-queue bandwidth limit to 30% doest it work.??. Had a problem with a 3750 this morning not handing out DHCP addresses. The following is a sanitized config of what the switch is using. [code] The IOS installed on the switch is c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-55.SE1.bin. What got my attention was that the sh ip dhcp pool PC showed 180 addresses being excluded. In doing the math from the dhcp excluded addresses, only 64 should be excluded.
My next step was to remove the second dhcp excluded-address line above. Doing a clear ip dhcp binding * started letting the DHCP service hand out addresses but the sh ip dhcp pool PC stil showed 180 addresses excluded.
It finally took removing the dhcp pool and putting it back in to drop the number of excluded addresses down to a value that matches the first excluded-address line. Didnt see a dhcp bug in the bug database that would explain this.
I tried re-entering the second excluded-address line from above and saw the number of excluded addresses rise as expected. When I negated the line, the number of excluded addresses dropped back to its previous value.
The company I work for owns a remote manufacturing facility that houses a stack of five 3750 switches that function as the core switching system for the plant. DHCP services are configured on the 3750 stack.
There are currently three VLANs configured, one for data and one for voice (144 and 244 respectively) and one for UCM servers (200), with corresponding subnets of 10.44.32.0 /19, 10.44.0.0 /19 and 10.44.100.0 /24.
The current DHCP scope configurations are as follows:

My question is will the addition of this scope in the manner presented cause any problems with PCs or IP phones outside the targeted recepents receiving the wrong IP information from this scope?
I plan to identify the users that should be members of this VLAN 444 and change the switchport mode access configuration on the corresponding switch ports from VLAN 144 to VLAN 444. The voice VLAN 244 will remain the same.
I'm configuring a catalyst 3500XL, but I'm having a problem, when I connect an ip phone it works just fine but if I connect a computer to the pc port in the phone the computer doesn't get an ip address. The switch is configure with two vlans Voice and Data and is connected from fa0/24 to a Catalyst 3560 fa0/46. I did configure both ports as trunk.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI disconnected and reconnected the powercable while holding on to the setup button until system, alert, setup go amber. The system led light began blinking green. I waited until one of the leds lights on the ports starts blinking green I then connected the ethernet cable connected to my pc. I made sure my lan connection on my computer was set to dhcp.In the docs claim it should take about 1 minute to grab a new ip address. After a few minutes i check the ipconfig on my pc and I get the apipa address.The setup light on the switch remains green while system is amber. The led for port 1 stopped blinking and remains green.My pc is not grabbing an ip address I don't know what else to do.

3750 can not support multiple subnets in it's DHCP server pool config.
Is this an issue that can be fixed with a different iOS or is there a different Cisco switch that I can replace the 3750 with that will handle multiple subnets within an individual pool?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have switch 2960 and router that connect with one interface to that switch. the link is trunk and Router function is inter vlan routing between 4 vlan. This netwrok has only one ip address space that is 10.10.2.0/24 and work without problem. We connect cisco switch 2960 with optic link to another switch that in stack 3750 which configured as trunk link and allowed only 3 vlan between them. In the other side netwrok which consist the switch 3750 we have different subnet ip address that switch working in layer 3 too. the problem is that when I permit vlan 210 in the switch 2960 only layer 2 between this switch and the 3750 in network that consist th ip address 10.10.2.0/24 devices, if I disconnect and then connect pc to network he says that he has ip conflict and in the log he show mac address of router that has vlan 210 subinterface configured with 10.10.2./24 subnet. But how I gibe back vlan 210 from permited vlan in trunk devices start normaly working. If I again put vlan 210 to permit vlan in that trunk devices again said that there are conflict ip address and show mac address vlan 210 router subinterface.
View 10 Replies View RelatedNot sure if this is a problem with the switch or the wireless AP connected to the switch, but I have a couple of 3560's, one is a 3560G and the other is a 3560, both have phones and wireless ap's connected to them. The ap's on both of these switches continue to loose there ip address and thus disconnect from the controller. This happens about once a week, but the odd thing is that the phones never loose there ip address. All of my other 3560s and 3560g's that have AP's and phones connected are working fine.
