Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750x4 Stack Manual Boot Setting?

I have a customer with a 3750x4 stack. We rebooted the stack over the weekend and the master did not come back up. Upon investigation it was discovered that tghe master was set for Manual Boot. I tried issuing the "no boot manual" command in Global Config mode but it did not change the variable according to a show boot command. According to Cisco documentation, the "no boot manual" command only works on standalone devices. Any way to change the variable while the switch is a member of a stack?

Are there issues with the auto upgrade feature for 3750X stacks, either historically or currently?
Some people prefer to upgrade switch stacks manually by disconnectiong the stack cables and uprading code on each switch.
I've done the manual procedure in the past and have not tried the auto upgrade (I have the procedure for the auto upgrade).

I do have C3750G-12s switch which is not able to boot as of the expected. Every time when I break the stack and try to use console i got a weird output from my console output. we need the stack to be break and use those switch separtally .

When I enter above command getting below mentioned error, two images are showing switch 1, but one image only showing in switch 2, i.e 1st image in show boot command.

I am in the process of upgrading our stack of 4 switches consist of WS-C3750G-48PS. Upon reading release notes found that there are two versions of release notes 1 day apart, the one 02 Sep 2012 saying that WS-C3750-48PS is not supported in this version. Then in release next day 03 Sep 2012 that note has been removed. Which one is correct. Is it supported with my model of switch or not.also unable to update boot path in the stack switches, "switch all" is not supported in the current IOS. Master switch has new boot path but unable to change in slaves.

Is there a stacking cable that is "bent"?Im using this cable:"CAB-STACK-50CM", "Cisco StackWise 50CM Stacking Cable".But it takes up to much room in the back of the switch, is there such a thing as "bent" stacking cable.

I have 3 switches in my 3750 X stack. I am getting the following error in the logs: %PLATFORM_STACKPOWER-4-PRIO_CONFLICT: Switch 1's power stack has conflicting power priorities. Not sure what I should do next. Below is my Stack-power configuration:

A site that i am responsible for has the following equipment installed:
2 x 3750G Switches configured as a stack using Stackwise - Collapsed Core/Distribution Layer
5 x 2960G Switches as Access Layer switches
WAN connections into the Core/Distribution Layer are all Gigabit Ethernet over Fibre.This is a dedicated CCTV Network with 50 Cameras all streaming video into the Core (decoders connected to access switches)Each 2960G has 2 links to the Core/Distribution 3750G Switches, 1 to each switch - Gigabit.I'm running rapid-pvst on all switches, so spanning tree is blocking one of the ports and effectively halving the 2 gig bandwidth. Next year our customer is going to add in a further 50 - 60 cameras.After monitoring the current loading on the ports in use, we have suggested to the customer that the 2 connections to each should be Ether-channeled together. First interface takes commands no problem, keep getting the message that etherchannel cannot be configured across different switches in a stack when i try to put the second interface commands on.

We have modem router 4-port with IP range 10.0.0.1 - 30 setting.one port goes to a library where we have a 8-port switch STLAB SWHUB-8p serving 2 pc with auto IP setting (internet works fine)and one port goes to another corner of the library to a switch TP-LINK TL-SF1008D V4.1 .4 pc are connected and a printer all are set with manual IP in an active rang of the router 10.0.0.10 - 14 they have to be on manual IP becuse of the ptinter.they cannot connect to the internet but I get the message connected.If I change them to auto IP - they can connect to the internet, the router gives them an IP.

I am trying to bind Mac address manually to IP in Cisco 881 router so that if user wants to change the IP address also they should get the same IP.

WE HAVE cISCO 2960 SWITCHES. this switch acts as a dhcp server for the hosts connected to it. Provided mac based binding to the hosts, with enabled dhcp snooping and IP source guard per interface.' I have a problem with single host couldnt get an ip from dhcp as he binded based on mac: manualip. Here is my config: We have a VLAN99, 70 hosts connected should get an ip based on mac

The above host amit (10.10.14.31 swhould get this ip bindded with mac) but hez not getting manual ip i.e 10.10.14.31, but if an ip excluded from the dhcp free, he can get that ip i.e automatic ip . every other host are getting the ips as binded in the pool manual ip. Checked with
**sh mac-address table dynamic vlan 99 ()
**clear ip dhcp binding * or 10.10.14.31
** clear ip dhcp snooping binding
*** clear ip dhcp conflict *
Tried to change pool names. All these troubleshoot couldn't make me success in providing amit an manual ip.

I have been experiencing a strange problem i have a switch stack of 3750 in which 4 switches are cascaded. there is one one switch shows PROVISIONED status when I run "show switch". i have verified the stack cable connectivity its OK.
now when i try to console that particular switch i am unable to access it as well. I tried to reboot that switch and on reboot it only shows one LED syst blink once and after that remains constant and nothing happens to other LEDS. from the back of the switch FAN is working fine.

On cisco and am having some issues with intervlan routing. I have followed the vids and manuals but just can seem to get this working. I have the following network lab set up.

I have an ASA 5505 that I was updating from frimware 8.04 to 8.41. Anyway, I went through the update procedure half-asleep and accidentally deleted the boot image right after I installed it (I used the CLI and put in the command del asa8*.bin then just hit enter a bunch of times, which of course means I deleted the old firmware too).
So now whenever I power up the ASA, I get the "Could not find boot file" error. Is there a guide somewhere that tells me how can upload another boot image to the ASA and set the ASA to boot it from teh ROMMON prompt?

I unpacked a new 3560x and went to put our standard code version on it c3560e-ipbasek9-mz.122-53.SE2. Everything seemed to upgraded fine but it won't boot to a console prompt. I tried to upgrade IOS from SXI2a to SXI9 in cat 6506 VSS. But the problem is that switch always boot with old IOS. I put the new IOS in sup-bootdisk and slave sup-bootdisk, bootvar is ok with new IOS: [code] Show bootvar is ok but switch always boot with old IOS SXI2a, some bug in IOS sxi2a???, I will try to delete de old IOS from sup bootdisk and try with the new one only.

my Catalyst 3750 switch. Following a power cut the switch no longer boots up. The SYST light flashed green but no POST checks are made. I cannot see any boot messages from the console port either. The switch was on a UPS but some thing may have damaged the switch.

What would happen if I installed a 32MB (MEM870-32F=) flash upgrade card in to a Cisco 871 router that already had 28MB flash on-board already? Would the router boot seeing 52MB (the max this router can have) or would it fail completely since the combined total would be over 52MB?
I know you can get a 24MB upgrade card but they are quite expensive.

i want to boot my Router's IOS from TFTP server but when I use the command: boot system tftp c2801-adventerprisek9_ivs-mz.124-24.T7.bin 172.16.10. 200; after that I write-mem, it shows the log:

-Building configuration...
-ROMMON: out of room in table, cannot set "BOOT"
And when I reload the router, it cannot boot IOS from TFTP Server, sure my TFTP work well and 2801 can ping to TFTP.

I can see the boot file at 192.168.100.1 but I can never get into the GUI. The unit boots up, fans running. Eventually the power light flashes red. I don't have the unit hooked up to anything else except a laptop to try and configure it.

I have a 4503-E on my work bench. It's been out of production for a year or so. I started working on it last week. I think I may have cause a boot up problem. It comes up to ROMMON, but then I need to type "boot" to get it to come up all the way.

Customer is using SUP720 with SP rommon image version 8.1(3), he is trying to boot the new ios image from disk0, but he gets invalid magic error. he fomat the disk0 but still he gets error when he boots from disk0. He suspect that it can't be flash problem but can be software of hardware as he has two flash with same issue on 2 switches.
Customer wanted to recreate, I tried in the lab, i was able to load from disk0, but sup in lab had 8.5(4).
Customer wanted me try with 8.1(3) version. But i was unable to downgrade the SP Rommon image. SP rommon is running in Gold region and I loaded the 8.1(3) from both disk0 and sup-bootdisk, even preferrence was given to region1 but still sup came up with gold region itself.
* Will i be able to downgrade from 8.5(4) to 8.1(3), if so, what are the steps.
* is there any limitation or bug where 8.1(3) will be unable to read disk0.

In my boot flash their is another image c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1. o what is the difference between these images c6msfc2-jsv-mz.121-4.E1 and c6msfc-boot-mz.121-4.E1.

I encountered an issue while trying to boot Catalys WS-C4948-S switch. I power on the switch and I'm able to see the boot messages thourgh serial console cable. But it gets stuck at line "Image text-base: 0x1000000, data-base: ..... ". Also I can enter into rommon mode. I tried to use different kinds of IOS images, tried to boot from tftp but with no luck, the issue is the same.
There are no erros on the screen, it just gets stuck when it enters into IOS, so I don't see the IOS prompt.

I have been looking at grading the IOS version on our 6509-E however there is not enough space on disk:0 to upgrade to the version I need to install. The question I would like to ask is - is it possible to boot the IOS from a TFTP server? If this is possible what configuration do I need on the 6509 to enable this. How does the 6509 know about the TFTP server as an IOS is not installed and therefore it will not have a network configuration

I checked download section on Cisco.com for C2960S-48FPS-L switch and there is simply no boot loader image..The running boot loader is C2960S-HBOOT-M Version 12.2(55r)SEThe running IOS is: 15.0 (2) SE2.

I am in the process of updating the software on a Catalyst 3500 series switch. I deleted the old bin file and copied over the new file via xmodem.the image I used is:
c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin
Once the xmodem copy is complete I performed the following sequence of steps:
File "xmodem:c3500xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin" successfully copied to "flash:c350
0xl-c3h2s-mz.120-5.WC17.bin"
switch: dir flash:
Directory of flash:/

The last output is where I am stuck. What am I missing?
