Cisco Switching/Routing :: 861 - External IP Redirection (Port 80)

Mar 5, 2013

I have a little problem with a redirection. When I type my external ip, I am directly connected to my Cisco 861 ( through port 80 (HTTP))

Even if I do a factory default, I always have the same problem. I try to make another redirection on another internal ip , but always same problem...

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2600 / Destination IP Address Redirection

Jul 9, 2012

I have a Cisco 2600.  I would like to know how to redirect traffic going to a certain IP address three hops away to an IP address on a locally connected segment.

Ex.  Packet leaves a device with source IP of 10.10.10.10 and destination of 20.20,20.20   When the packet hits the router (10.10.10.1) I want the router to redirect the destination of 20.20.20.20 to 30.30.30.30 (locally connected segment).

The router has two physical interfaces.I am thinking along the lines of creating a VLAN with an ip of 30.30.30.1 and then doing a NAT translation from 20.20.20.20 to 30.30.30.30.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 7206VXR - WCCP Redirection Of Non-directly Connected Subnets

Jul 18, 2012

I have a Cisco 7206VXR running 12.4(24)T3 IOS. It is configured with WCCPv2 using L2 mask redirection. I am using service groups and associated extended ACLs to select which subnets I want to redirect port 80 traffic from.

It is working fine for the subnet 192.168.1.0/24....

int gi0/2
ip wccp 10 redirect in
ip address 192.168.1.99 255.255.255.0

... however, there is OSPF running between the router and a Mikrotik device directly connected to this interface. The gateway addresses for all the client subnets are on the Mikrotik. Traffic from other subnets, e.g. 192.168.2.0/24, 192.168.3.0/24 come in on this interface and I want to redirect those too. But it appears that the redirection doesn't work for those subnets (I don't see any hits on the relevant ACL for any subnet except 192.168.1.0/24).

It seems like the router only wants to redirect traffic for subnets that it has an IP address in itself. Admittedly, all of the example configs i've found on cisco.com are for redirecting traffic from directly connected subnets but I can't find anything that denies thie possibility of redirecting any traffic that comes in on a given interface.

The question is, is this how WCCPv2 redirection works? i.e., the router must have an IP address in the subnet to be redirected?

The Open Port Checker tool from yougotsingle.com says that the port (80) is open. However when I goto access it the connection times out.     The external address is static from my ISP, and I will call it xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. The server is at 10.1.1.20, and is functioning properly over the LAN.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: NAT Multiple External IPs On RV180?

Dec 25, 2012

how to properly route multiple external IPs to internal ips assigned to several servers.  Where I'm getting a bit lost is that I have two levels of routing - one from the outside into a comcast business class cable modem, which also creates its own internal network.  Within that internal network, I have my RV180 router, which creates another separate internal network in which the servers live (don't want the servers to have access to other computers within the Comcast Modem's internal network).  I want to map the external ips to servers within the RV180 second level network.

To diagram:

Comcast Cable Modem
/
RV180     Computer(s)
/
S1     S2

An internal IP is assigned to the RV180 router.  Suppose it is 192.168.1.100.

The cable modem itself supports NAT as well.  Do I use NAT twice (on both cable modem and RV180) to route the external IP to S1 and S2?

Or do I modify the routing table on the cable modem?  Then use One to One NAT on the RV180 to map the external IPs directly to the internals?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3750 Manage And Configure An External Switch And Router

Apr 3, 2013

1. How I can manage those devices, the Switch and the router? What is the BEST SOLUTION to manage this devices?

2. I want to monitor the traffic on this environment, how I can do it? How I can monitor the traffic from customer A, Customer B, and my own LAN traffic, in terms of bandwidth that has passed throught my devices? Is it possible to monitor on MY LAN, or I have to monitor from the EXTERNAL switch?

3. How I can limit the bandwidth? I was trying to configure it using access list, with policy-map, etc....and limit this on each interface. [code]

The interface does not support the specified policy configuration and/or parameter values.Assigning a policy map to the output side of an interface not supported. With I few reading, I could see that the SWITCH 3750 doesnt support this configs. My INTERNET LINK is 30 Mbps, the ports on the Switch (WS-C3750X-48P-L) are Gigabit Ethernet. How I can limit the bandwidth here? For example, How I can limit a interface to 3Mbps..I was thinking about this:

- Limit the interface to 10Mbps: speed 10

- and limit the interface with 30% of this speed:  srr-queue bandwidth limit 30

Does this work for both UPLOAD and DOWNLOAD?When the packets passes that 3Mbps limitation, will they be droped?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 5520 To Redirect An External Address To An Inside Server

Mar 21, 2012

I am desperate to make some kind of translation which convert an outside IP Address of our web server to its inside ip address so that requests can be routed internally to the server.

This is what we have:  A wireless network with an SSID to serve visitors.  We also have an in-house web server which can be accessed internally and externally.  We have a ASA 5520 that protects the internal network, including the Web server, and also routes all traffic from the all visitors connected to the public SSID to the outside.  The DHCP server for the wireless network for visitors is configured to give the 8.8.8.8 as dns server.  The problem with that is that the www.ourwebserver.com is resolved by Google's dns server to the public IP Address of our web server!  The traffic then is sent to the outside interface of the ASA 5520.  The visitor who wants to access our web server cannot connect!

How can I configure the ASA to route that traffic to our web server with the public ip address to the inside ip address of the web server?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 7900 - Port Configuration With IP Phone And PC On Same Port

Jan 15, 2013

We just installed a hosted VOIP system using Cisco 7900 series IP phones.  We are having a strange issue with a few computers where they pull DHCP information from our VOIP provider's DHCP server on the Internet and not our LAN DHCP server.

The switchports areconfigured as: switchport mode access

My rationale behind this is that the phones would use CDP to get their VLAN info from the providers Cisco router and the PCs would just ride on the default VLAN.  But this is not the case.  Computers randomly keep getting DHCP info from the provider's router.  Do I have to use voice vlan x and make the switchports trunks?

Cisco Switching/Routing :: Lose Lot Of Bandwidth Over Trunk Port (vs Access Port) 3750g

Feb 18, 2013

I have a 3750g connected to a "core" switch stack of 7 other 3750g's via 2 GigE ports in a trunk.  This is currently in a switchport mode access port- channel so only the default vlan data is sent over. Now we have a need due to physical location of these switches, to allow vlan20 (DMZ) from this 3750g to the switch stack.  I will configure a few ports on the switch stack for vlan20 and they need to be able to talk to the stand alone 3750g.To do this I will change the port channel on both endpoints to

-switchport trunk ecapsulation dot1q

-switchport mode dynamic desirable

also making the appropriate change on the interfaces belonging to this trunk. My question is, now that its a trunk port that carries multiple VLANs, how much is the bandwidth reduced on that 2gbps link?I have a very active VLAN (10) on the stand alone switch, but on the core I'm not going to be assigning VLAN 10 to any ports.  So does traffic from VLAN10 even come across the trunk (wasting bandwidth) if no ports on the core side are assigned to it?  I really just need vlan 1 and 20 (for now).

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 3825 ISR - Traffic Route From Switch Port To Router Port

Jun 5, 2013

I'm fairly new to Cisco products am in the process of developing my network knowledge on a deeper level.  I have a 3825 with a HWIC-4ESW and I'm struggling to fully understand how the two "see" each other.  I've setup a V LAN with a layer 3 address on the HWIC and added the switch ports to it.  This seemed to allow devices connected to the switch ports to talk to the built-in router ports.  I thought this was all making sense until i applied an access-list to the router port.  It's a simple ACL i'm just using for testing and the only thing it does is blocks telnet from anywhere.  I know the ACL is setup properly because if I connect a device directly to the router port i cannot telnet to the port.  However, if i connect a device to one of the switch ports, i am able to telnet to the router port successfully.

It seems that I'm missing something with how traffic flows from the switch port to the router ports and how the two "see" each other.
