I have an internal DVR system that I am trying to share to the outside world. We recently put in an ASA5505 and I am having trouble getting the settings correct.I want to use an external IP to access the DVR system from anywhere and have my ASA5505 redirect the traffic to the internal IP address. I assume I need to use a NAT and a route policy however can not figure out how it would be.

The configuration would result into: Laptop on public internet -> Cisco ASA5505 VPN -> External VPN (Unix server) -> internet.
How can i route internal VLANs on a 3750X , my current network its small ( about 8 -10 subnets) so i dont wnat to add overhead using maybe dynamic protocol , My scenario is my stack of 3750X ( 2 switches) will be my CORE SW, i will have 2 stack more (2960S - 4 switches ) and it will connect to the 3750X with a trunk port etherchannel each link connected to a different switch, ( i was planning to use a L3 routing in the 3750X but not sure how it will works )
My core SW 3750X it will be connect with a firewall for aVPN , by a Layer 3 interface (using a static or dynamic protocol)

I have a 2600 I am trying to setup for educational use.
My Cable ISP has issued me 5 routable IP's through their SMC modem 86.28.12.226-229. The SMC modem is .225. Currently the internal network can get out through .229 as expected but nothing outside (tcp 80 to web server) can get through. When I assigned the ip's to e0/1 as secondarr I could get it to route from the inside network (so hitting .226 80 went to the correct place) but it still didn't work from the outside - plus I read that wasn't a great way to do it anyway.

I have a checkpoint Safe@Office 500 firewall router, connected to adsl via another adsl device in bridged mode.We needed to assign an external IP to a device behind the firewall.We contacted the ISP, and now they have assigned an additional IP to our adsl account.I have read from the documentation that:"NAT can be defined automatically via the network object (Node, Network or Address Range). When you define NAT via the network object, rules are automatically added to the Address Translation Rule Base"....so I add the object, with the external IP given to us by our ISP, and the wizard simply complains that the IP address is invalid.My thoughts are that the router does not know about the additional IP provided by our ISP. If so, how do I tell the router that there are other IP addresses available to use? I have rebooted the router, and no luck.

I need 3 SSID/VLAN, 1 for corporate devices, 1 for coporate smartphones, 1 for guest.
Port 1 on the 2504 should be used for management and corporate devices and connect to the corp network. Port 2 is for smartphones/guest and will be connected to a Cisco ASA 5515 that is connected to a second ISP.
Corp devices should get IP from an Windows DHCP. Smartphones/guest should get IP from the WLC. Is this possilbe? I read this in a document "To use the WLC as a dhcp, you need to enable DHCP proxy as it is required." Some how I am imagining that this will mess with the Windows DHCP. Is it better to use the ASA as DHCP for smartphones/guest?

The other two I'm going to use for the following: I'm going to deploy a server in internal network which must have 2 external ips on his network interface (& one internal ip on the second,but that's ok: I cannot put an extra network switch before asa & plug this server there: this server is virtual & is on esxi host in internal network. External ips must be assigned to servers' interfacw,bot just forwarded there (ms direct access requirement).

Our secondary site accesses the internal intranet via a link, which is basically:

Internally, I access the same link, but via [URL] Internally it loads in 2 seconds, externally it is taking 68seconds(ish)..
I can't work it out, the fibre shouldave made things loads quicker but is infact very slow. I'm wondering if something network wise is going on.
The intranet is a php intranet sitting on apache, and using postgresql as the database. Other pages load fine, this specific index.php page does quite a lot of DB connections and so on, but as I say before, it worked fine before the migration.

View 1 Replies View Relatedcustomer's WAN solution, instead of buying routers, purchasing department bought ASA's (don't even get me started!). So I have 5 ASA 5505's for the branch offices and one 5510 for the Head Office. I am trying to get them to behave like routers and pass the traffic across. I set up a lab with a 5505 and the 5510 using an ethernet cable for both Outside interfaces since the WAN links are going to be MetroEthernet Layer 2 anyway.
I tried static routes, dynamic routing, I followed examples from other persons who did it and it doesn't work. I attached the configs here to show I have the default routes, specific static routes pointing the traffic out, any any rules configured as well. I cannot ping from the internal lan of the 5505 to the internal lan of the 5510.
I used the GRE tunnel site to site VPN with 2 cisco 1841 routers. Behind one of the router R1, I used cisco ASA 5510, now my vpn is connect between two routers, but from R2 other site cannot access to LAN behind the firewall. From R1, also cannot route to local network, from local network can access to R1, I think cause of NAT . So how to configure to route internal network from R1 & R2 with VPN.

My question is we have purchased the botnet filter and this requires the asa5505 dns client to be active on at least one interface .. Should i point the asa dns to an external IP such as 8.8.8.8 and apply DNS enabled on interface outside ( am using asdm) I don't want the ASA to control DNS for our internal clients we already have a internal server for this, i DO want the asa5505 to check dns packets against its botnet filter, whilst still using open dns for forwarding.

The connection is establishing properly with the ip address from my VPNPool. From outside (on VPN connection) I can ping the interface e0/0 (outside) and the interface e0/1 (inside) of the firewall, but I cannot ping the layer 3 switch interface to which the ASA is connected ( int gi1/0/22 ip address 192.168.1.2/30 ) and I cannot ping any vlan interfaces inside my switch. We have a Cisco WRVS4400N Wireless Router with 2 VLANS. VLAN 1 goes to a Watchguard Firebox which is connected to our internal network. VLAN 2 goues to our classroom network.
Our database is on VLAN 1. I have opened port 1433 on the Watchguard to allow SQL traffic from our Web Server. I can telnet from my workstation on VLAN 1 to the Web Server over port 1433, so I know the Web Server is not blocking anything. When I try to telnet from the Web Server to our Public IP address over port 1433, it fails.
I believe I have the firewall on the Cisco WRVS4400N off, so it shouldn't be blocking any traffic, but for the life of me I can't get this to work. I have been working on this for two days, and I NEED it to work. This was working up until last week, then it quit working. I am the only person making changes to our network, and there were no changes made during that time.
I have a Cisco 5505, 2 sites that are internal, 1 external IP (dhcp from cable modem). While on my laptop, ipad, iphone, I cannot access the server via it's external IP address. I MUST use the internal IP in order to access this site. I have heard of hairpinning, internal dns server(don't really want this).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an old ASA 5505, and I'm having some trouble with Nat Hairpinning. I've done this with other firewalls before and I am having no luck now. I have an internal address that I wish to forward from an external address- so if someone goes to 123.456.789.012:3456 then it will forward to 192.168.1.244:92 (All numbers are arbitrary here- only for illustration). I have and Access Rule and NAT and PAT set up so that I can get in if I originate from outside the LAN. What I am trying to do is to have this work from inside the LAN as well- so that if I am at my desk, and I connect a device and type in 123.456.789.012:3456, it will deliver the content at 192.168.1.244:92. The problem I am having is that it just isn't working, and I cannot figure out why- When I started here, there was an address configured to work this way, and it still works- I just cannot find what is different between what I am doing and what the person who configured it did.

I can connect, and ping internal ip addresses, however I cannot ping back out to the internet, nor can the internal network ping the vpn clients and dns resolution internal or external does not work. My Wifi is provided by a Linksys E3000 running DD-WRT software. NAT/SPI are disabled on the E3000, and it forwards DHCP requests to the Astaro. All my network clients connect via wifi/ethernet to the E3000.

I am considering setting up my own personal cloud server using a Synology NAS that I can access remotely. I would also like to remotely access my Surveillance DVR. I would like to access them via VPN or portforwarding. I do not want to use DMZ.
I would like to utilize the SPI firewall on the E3000 to provide an extra layer of defense. I would like the NAS and the DVR to be on an external LAN between the Astaro and the E3000...and all other clients being on an internal LAN behind the E3000. I have the necessary switches/cables to make this work.
My question is...How do I configure the E3000? Can I have both the internal and external LANs on the same subnet? Do I have to use the NAT on the E3000? I'd rather not...since that will render the Astaro's reporting functions rather worthless.
I would like the Astaro to remain the only DHCP server. I would like all internal LAN clients to be able to reach out to the external LAN/WAN...but the external LAN should not be able to reach into the Internal.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy network consists of a router and a ASA5505. The router has a serial connection back ot HQ. The ASA has a VPN connection back to HQ. I want the network traffic destined for HQ to travel over the VPN connection until that connection is no longer valid (down). I've been told that RRI is the way to go but cannot get it to work. I get one of my routes to show up in the router but that's it (and not as a static route). Also I don't want the routes to be injected if the VPN connection is down. But I do want the VPN connection to be the preferred connection.

Got an ASA5505 Sec+ with ip 10.45.10.1 on inside interface. Firmware 8.3(1). Got another Cisco router (From my ISP) with ip 10.45.10.254 - This one creates an L2L tunnel - To the 10.45.20.0/24 net.
On the 5505 ive got "route inside 10.45.20.0 255.255.255.0 10.45.10.254 1", and trafic is being directed to 10.45.10.254 as it should.
I know cause I can ping everything one the 10.45.20.0/24 net - But thats it... Cant RDP, connect to fileshare... Nothing.
When i test a PC and set it to gateway 10.45.10.254 I can access everything on the remote network. Do I need some NAT command or an access-list? I've setup AnyConnect VPN on the ASA and I can connect to both networks without any problems.
I am trying to configure dual ISP on my ASA5505.I have everything configured and working when eth0/0 is connected, but when I disconnect it, it doesn't route any traffic.The static route for the primary isp is removed and the static route to the backup isp shows up, but no traffic goes in or out. I should note that I'm doing this as a proof of concept so eth0/0 is connected to a router and eth0/1 is connected to another router. [code]
View 7 Replies View RelatedI purchased a WAP4410n for our small office to provide wireless access to our internal network to laptop users. I have configured the device as simplistically as is possible, but although I can get my laptop to connect to the AP (verified by managing the device wirelessly as well as by pinging the IP address) I can not get to any other IP address on my internal network nor the internet.I gave the device a static IP address - 192.168.1.50 subnet 255.255.255.0 with a default gateway of 192.168.1.254 which is my 2811 router. I set up a WPA-secured SSID.
A second problem I have is that if I set up my laptop wireless card to get its' IP settings form a DHCP server, it picks up a 169.xx.xx.xx ip address - it is as if the AP is not passing my DHCP broadcast / response through.
