Cisco Wireless :: Can't Route To Internal Network Or Internet Through WAP4410n

Jul 31, 2011

I purchased a WAP4410n for our small office to provide wireless access to our internal network to laptop users. I have configured the device as simplistically as is possible, but although I can get my laptop to connect to the AP (verified by managing the device wirelessly as well as by pinging the IP address) I can not get to any other IP address on my internal network nor the internet.I gave the device a static IP address - 192.168.1.50 subnet 255.255.255.0 with a default gateway of 192.168.1.254 which is my 2811 router. I set up a WPA-secured SSID.

A second problem I have is that if I set up my laptop wireless card to get its' IP settings form a DHCP server, it picks up a 169.xx.xx.xx ip address - it is as if the AP is not passing my DHCP broadcast / response through.

Cisco VPN ::1841 To Route From Internet Router To Internal LAN Through ASA

I used the GRE tunnel site to site VPN with 2 cisco 1841 routers. Behind one of the router R1, I used cisco ASA 5510, now my vpn is connect between two routers, but from R2 other site cannot access to LAN behind the firewall. From R1, also cannot route to local network, from local network can access to R1, I think cause of NAT . So how to configure to route internal network from R1 & R2 with VPN.

My router just dropped the internet. I checked with ISP and confirmed that their modem is fine - I can connect direct into that - but the DIR-655 won't connect externally.  I've tried wireless and wired and can connect fine to the router, but it is like the firewall has reset itself or something. at the moment I'm surviving because of a 30m long ethernet cable to the modem going out the window and round the house!

Cisco Wireless :: 802.11 WAP4410N To WAP4410N Backhaul Using N Protocol?

Apr 30, 2011

I have the following equipment:

Cisco 871W router
2x WAP 4410N APs running 2.0.3.3

I currently have 1 AP connected to the router via copper.  The AP to AP link is over 802.11.  I have attached a diagram reflecting the current topology.

The AP-to-AP link will come up utilizing B/G/N mixed mode; however, the connection is basically unusable.  About 30% of the traffic is dropped, while the packets that do make it have a consistently volatile latency, anywhere from 15 to 1500 ms. I have had success using G-only and B/G mixed.  The link is stable (I have had the best results with B/G).  The problem is, I didn't buy the 2nd 4410N to run the G protocol.  I would like to connect the APs running either B/G/N (hopefully negotiating to N) or N only.  I am wondering if there is a certain configuration I can utilize (perhaps using WDS repeater or bridge versus Wireless Client/Repeater?), or a firmware upgrade set for release that can make this happen for me.

Cisco Wireless :: WAP4410N Set Up 3 Story Wi-Fi Network

Apr 17, 2011

I have 4 WAP4410N sitting here to set up a 3 story Wi-Fi network. Since the WAP4410N is advertised as being able to work as a WDS repeater, I thought this might be a good product to allow users (only a handful of clients, around 4 or 5 at a time) to roam the building. To keep matters simple, I first tried to deploy only two APs:

I have deployed one WAP4410N as AP in a central location, and I'm actually very happy with the area it covers all by itself. The first AP (Version: 2.0. 3. 3) is configured as follows:

- Static IP, connected to wired network
- AP Mode: Access Point, allow wireless signal to be repeated by: wireless MAC of second WAP4410
- B/G/N Mixed, Channel 6, one SSID
- WPA-Personal with TKIP, Isolation is off

This configuration did not work. Clients could associate with both AP's, but when connected to the repeater, no packets are routed, thus no IP via DHCP etc. Funny enough, about once per 20-25 reboots, traffic was routed just fine, and the test client was actually roaming from one AP to the other for a few minutes - but the magic was gone after the next AP reboot.I spent the weekend (need time slots when nobody is working ...) trying just about every possible configuration to get this to work:

- Different channels
- Other WPA security (we cannot go WEP or unencrypted)
- Wired MAC address instead of wireless one
- Different wireless network modes (B, G, N) ...

Cisco Wireless :: E3000 With WAP4410N As Repeater For Extending Network Coverage

Dec 20, 2010

I am trying to setup an E3000 router and extending the network with a WAP4410N acting as a repeater.

I am faced with the same problem and it looks like it all comes down to this: without the WAP4410N having a physical connection to the LAN, it will not connect to the E3000 as a wireless client whether it's configured in AP mode: WDS Repeater or in client/repeater.

I've tested with various permutations that have been explored in the various discussions: matching channels/bandsmatching and non-matching SSIDs matching security settings using site survey to set the mac address of the E3000 (ensuring it's the MAC of the 2.4Ghz wireless)setting a static IP on the WAP4410Nensuring both devices are on the same subnet. Any way to be truly successful with this pair up of E3000 & WAP4410N or is it simply a technical product limitation?

Linksys Wireless Router :: E3000 Internal Network Service Disconnects

Aug 9, 2012

I have an E3000 router, 2 computers connected via wires, and a PS3, airport express, laptop, and a few other devices which connect wirelessly.  I've been having intermittent difficulties with specific services disappearing within my network.  From time to time, some of the services which run across the network stop working;  The Airport disappears (cannot contact it via airport utility or see it as an airplay destination),  and the Playstation stops being able to contact media server running on wired computer.  When this occurrs, all devices are still able to connect to the internet, and I am even able to copy files between a hard wired computer and laptop via CIFS (windows file sharing) protocol.  Power cycling the E3000 solves this; the airport reappears, the PS3 can once again see the media server running on the PC, etc.

Linksys Wireless Router :: X3000 FW V1.0.03 - Internal Network Not Accessible Via WLAN?

Feb 1, 2013

I am experiencing one, possibly two problems with the X3000, firmware release v1.0.03:

1. When enabling guest mode, the internal network is not accessible via WLAN even for clients NOT connected via guest mode but regularly: Even non-guests but regularly connected clients can't access any internal IP but the router itself. netscan shows only the very client's IP and the router's. Only after switching guest mode entirely off, regularly connected clients can access interal IP again. netscan correctly shows the whole network. Obviously a firmware bug. BTW: Clients connected via cable do not experience this problems.

2. I am not sure about this, but after using the firmware built in "Reboot" button, the router reboots correctly. But for some reason, it is instable afterwards. It is operational for a few seconds but then reboots again. It keeps cycling. I could stop it by switching the router off and on again.

Cisco Firewall :: ASA 5520 - Allowing Guest Wireless Network Access To Internal Subnets

Jan 23, 2012

We have a Cisco wireless infrastructure in place that includes a guest network with its own subnet that is a sub interface of the inside interface on our ASA 5520.  There are no routes for it to be allowed access to the internal subnets.  So it can only access the internet.  This is primarily used by the public, but we have several non employee personnel that we only want to give internet access and force them to access the internal network through our clientless SSL vpn portal or through other internet facing internal resources such as webmail.I have done packet traces from within the ASA and the break appears to be there is no ACL allowing the traffic back into the network once the web resource replies to the request and the traffic is attempting to come back into the network from the web resource.  Is that as clear as mud?

I know that this has to be a common problem and a way around this is to allow the guest wireless network access to the internal network but only for the select resources that they require.  And that this can be done seemlessly by network specific routes and or alternate DNS entries, but I would like to keep this simple and just allow them to access the web resource, webmail and VPN, from the guest wireless using internet DNS servers without route trickery.

TP-Link 150Mbps Wireless :: WR741ND Does Not Route Between Local LAN And The Internet

Dec 1, 2012

Region : Argentina
Model : TL-WR741ND
Hardware Version : V4
Firmware Version : 3.13.12
ISP : Triple C

I'm trying to set up my new WR741ND router to replace the old WR541G with excctly the same cabling,ISP account etc.
All seem to be working i.e. I get the PPPoE connection against the ISP and cat ping by name to Internet addresses from THE ROUTER.Also I get DHCP handing out addresses both to my desktop connection by Ethernet cable and to my laptop via Wifi. And the computers may ping the router and also connect its admin GUI.However, the computers stop at the router and can't go further. All they can go is to the router as if it doesn't route between LAN and WAN.With the 541 router everything works and as I said it has the same setup (very basic,no static routes or anything too smart).
