I have a cisco 3750 swicth which i want to load a new ios to but unfortunately there's no enough space on the flash. This means that i need to backup the cureent (old) ios to my tftp server but the command keeps failing. It always gives 'No such file or directory' error .The free space on the flash is 8mb and my new ios is about 11mb.I also went inside the directory where the old is and inputed the same copy command but to no avail.Below are some of the command failure on the swicth:
I am using TFTPD32 to upgrade the IOS on a router. When I type in the commands copy tftp flash and enter all the necessary information, the router sits for a minute or so and then times out. There is no entry made in the log when it times out. copy flash tftp yields the same result. The fa 0/0 interface and the TFTP server are both on the same subnet and can successfully ping one anothe
I have a 3550 switch that I am trying to upgrade the IOS on.I am trying to copy to a TFTP server.I am receiving a socket error.I saw that this can be fixed with
Switch#config t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Switch(config)#no service config Switch(config)#exit Switch# 00:13:47: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by console Switch#reload
I have done this 3 times to no avail. My TFTPd32 server on my pc is working fine. Here is the error
Switch#sh flas Directory of flash:/ 2 -rwx 556 Mar 1 1993 00:33:53 +00:00 vlan.dat 4 -rwx 3775 Mar 1 1993 00:37:54 +00:00 config.text 5 -rwx 24 Mar 1 1993 00:37:54 +00:00 private-config.text 6 -rwx 5687963 Mar 16 2007 01:05:23 +00:00 c3550-ipbasek9-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin 8 drwx 192 Mar 1 1993 00:04:40 +00:00 c3550-i9q3l2-mz.121-22.EA1a
I recently posted this same issue the other day, using TFTPd32. Now i am pretty close to fixing it. I do have a different setup; my pc ethernet port is broken so I am using an ethernet/usb adapter. I am attempting to backup my IOS from a 3550 switch to my PC.

I am trying to configure a switch that was given to me. They don't know the password to anything. I have already tried to recover it. The problem is, the switch doesn't load flash, or will copy flash from xmodem either. It also doesnt load the helper or boot. It is user mode and lets me do nothing. It doesnt let me use the enable command to get into it. I would like to start the config from scratch. Its a 3500xl switch, 24 ports. I dont know what to do with it. I am trying to study for my CCENT Exam and would like a switch that worked.
I have a really stupid problem with my RV042. The main logon password has expired but it will not let me change it at all. Basically I try to login but get the error 'The old password has expired. Please change the password'. But with no prompt at all for a new password and just a return to the login page. Tried various different browsers, tried the old default password but nothing will work. There seems to be no way of changing it and I cannot login.Am I missing something glaringly obvious? I really don't want to reset it to default as I have numerous VPN tunnels configured and various other settings.
Trying to copy the system image file from the sup-bootflash to a new 64MB ATA flash card. Yes the software can support the 64MB card.
The ATA flash card was formated successfully, however I cannot copy the system image to it so that it can boot after a power loss. The command I tried was: console(enabled) copy sup-bootflash: slot0:
The source filename was typed in as shown in the Show Verison command. The result was: Error opening slot0: no such device.I suspect that I am missing something obvious as I am new to Cisco Switches.
later that by mistake i typed delete /force /recursive flash:now, I am unable to load new IOS error loading "flash:c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE5.bin" Interrupt within 5 seconds to abort boot process.Boot process failed...
I am trying to research the possiblity of backing up IOS and configurations from an Etherswitch module, and being able to store the files onto the Host Router's flash (3925 ISR). and then being able to recover that IOS and configuration, in case I have to replace the Etherswitch Module.
How do i go about setting up a TFTP server from laptop to Cisco ws-C3750 48P Switch, I need to pull the image off the switch and place it on an other switch that has a corrupt image, The switch which is corrupted is the same as above Cisco ws-C3750 48P.
I have a Catalyst 4006 switch in production and a spare switch of same model. I have to quickly copy the configuration from production switch to spare switch (both L2 and L3 configurations) How do I do that?
I have 2 Chassis 6506-E with sup 720. one of them work properly(Switch1) but another(Switc2) not boot form bootdisk and go to ROMMON mode. I Captured IOS from Switch1 with tftp but I cant Copy this image to switch 2 with tftp.
It seems I have seen this before (and even done it once a few years ago).. but it has been a while. I have a stack with a Cisco 3750 stack that I have to replace a member. The replacement switch is a 3750X.
I think I have to upgrade the IOS of the older switch to be the same as the 3750X.
Current switch: WS-C3750G-48TS 12.2(46)SE TO BE ADDED WS-c3570X-48 15.0 (1)SE2
It seems to me there was a way to upgrade the older switch IOS from the newer switch or downgrade the newer switch with the older IOS.I dont have the Cisco account to download updated IOSs.
I have a 3560x switch with the flash formatted . I have tried to solve the problem by copying the IOS file to the flash. But the boot failed either .I have tried to copy the same IOS by the Xmodem, The boot failed again. My question is how to fixed the boot issues after the flash was formatted?
Cisco... Have two new 3750X switches (24P-L, and 48PF) trying to stack. Brought them up together a few weeks ago with the 24P using LANBase and the 48 IPBase. The expected happened. They saw each other in the stack ring, and the 24 port was excluded due to license miss match. This was corrected. Now both are IPBase. Now I have the two switches stacked, and boot the 48 and 24 at the same time. Monitoring the 48 I get a check message "FIPS: Flash key check: End, Not found. FIPS: Stacking Not Found". The 48 does confirm the stack cable is connected. This happens early in the boot process, before master election.OK.... Now looking at the 24 Port. After applying the new license, and actually booting successfully and few times. It will no longer load the boot file. Wants an environment variable. Going to have to dig into ancient history for that. Had to deal with that one about 8 years ago. Do not feel that is part of the stack disable issue though.
The default value of DRAM and Flash memory are 128 MB and 16 MB of Cisco Catalyst WS-3750-24PS-E switch .I want to know , wherther the default value may be change upto 256 DRAM and 128 Flash.
I have a 3550 switch that was replaced at a remote site with no IOS. This is a switch not a router so tftpdnld does not work.

The problem is the switches interface never comes up so try to connect to the tftp server. I read on google it can't be done on a switch to copy from tftp to flash in rommon mode on a switch and to use XMODEM. My problem is I do not have access to it, I ssh into a 3640 which is an access server for all devices and that is how I have console to it, how to use XMODEM over ssh.
But I'm fairly certain that there has to be a way to just copy it from tftp? I have a 3550 local and when I put it in rommon mode it stops the port check at port, port 1 goes from green when you plug it in to off then port 2 changes to amber and the rest green. So just by the look of this I would believe tftp would work; you just need to use port 1.
Base ethernet MAC Address: 00:0a:b7:07:35:80Xmodem file system is available. The system has been interrupted prior to initializing theflash filesystem. The following commands will initialize the flash filesystem, and finish loading the operating system software:
The stackwise marketing info states that when a failed member is replaced with a new switch the replacement switch "gets the exact configuration of the old device". I would figure it takes a little more than just disconnecting and connecting a new switch in the same spot on the stack. doing this with 3750 family switches? What are the steps to prepare the stack for a new member? what steps need to be taken on the replacement switch before insertion into the stack to make sure it gets configured like the unit it was replacing?
I was trying to upgrade from 8.3.1 to 8.3.2. but I am unable to copy via tftp to the ASA flash or disk0:
ASA5520# copy tftp: flash: Address or name of remote host []? 10.88.127.153 Source filename []? asa831-k8.bin Destination filename [asa831-k8.bin]?
[code]....
Half way thru writing to the disk, it goes for a reboot. There is more than enought space on the disk0. I tried copying via a Compact Flash, but the ASA is not detecting the Compact Flash (which I thinks should be disk1). I tried copying a asdm file, even that also went for a reboot.I am stuck now, unable to upgrade
