I have been tasked to setup a Transparent Squid proxy and do redirection on a Cisco 6513 Switch.I don't have access to the SQUID but think that my config below should be OK. We have setup a TEST user Vlan 13 . Any traffic from this destined for the we on 80 or 443 should be redirected. Vlan 10 is where the Squid proxy is sitting. [code]
View 3 RepliesSo Im trying to learn a little bit more about WCCP so I thought I'd load up a centos VM and just install squid on it. With the base config running I can setup an explicit proxy by configuring my IE session to use the squid IP on port 3128. Proxy works fine and I see entries in the access log on the centos box. Now, since Im only running squid on the box Im going to change the listening port to 80 so I can transparent proxy with WCCP on my ASA. So I set the WCCP2 config on squid as shown.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm testing WCCP in a lab environment (Another checkbox on my way to CCIE).The setup- a WS-C3560-8PC switch running IOS 15.0(1), IP Services with crypto.- Two client computers connected by wire to the switch, running Windows 7.- A virtual machine in bridged mode running on one of the machines, running OpenBSD 5.0 with Squid 2.7 installed and running.- Everything in the same subnet: 192.168.163.0/24, the OpenBSD is at .5, the switch at .3 and functions as the default-gateway for the computers with no ICMP redirects (the real gateway is at .1 but the switch forwards everything).Squid seems to work, albeit inefficient, but that's not the issue.illing in the IP of the OpenBSD in the browser as proxy with the proper port works.Since the 3560 does only support WCCP over layer 2 adjacencies and masks, not hash buckets, I've configured these options on both the Squid and the 3560.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a cisco 3750 in my network as a gateway, and above it I use a squid machine for caching my internet. My network is like this:
Basically I have two VLANs on my network which are VLAN10 and VLAN100, VLAN10 is the cooperate network of my office. VLAN100 is the management VLAN which i use for the switches. I keep the squid as well the client in VLAN10.
squid (192.168.1.50)---->cisco 3750(192.168.1.123)---->Distribution Switch(cisco 2960)---->client PC (192.168.1.5)
I have done nating on squid and internet is working pretty fine when I use the client gateway as the squid, but when I use the cisco 3750 as my gateway after adding route maps for forwarding the internet traffic coming to the cisco 3750 to squid it disconnects me from internet as well I cannot even reach the switches from the corporate network. These are the only Lines I used for the routing:

I´m trying to config a wccp web-proxy in a ISR 2811 at branch network. I have an Iron Port at Head-Quarter.
The idea is that the users at branch network, transparently forward http traffic to Iron Port at Central-Office and from them go to Internet.
The communication between sites is over DMVPN. I have two GRE tunnels running OSPF.
The Iron Port is configured as wccp v2 transparent redirection with forwarding method L2 or GRE an retunr method as L2 or GRE.
I receive packets on the branch router "Here I Am" but it get a message on debug:

I'm setting up a config to have WCCP with Blue Coat WAN Optimizer. I have following sinple setup at the moment. Cisco 6500 <----> Firewall. How should my topology should be. Should I have whe WAN-Optimizer in between (in path of switch and firewall on the same VLAN) or have different vlan hanging off the 6500 and have WCCP redirect traffic?

I've read that the earliest PIX release that supports WCCP was 7.2(1) but I'm not sure how FWSM 4.0(7) aligns with the PIX versions.The only doc's i can find refrencing WCCP on a 6500 with FWSM is in the 6500 12.2 IOS guide.

Probably missing something real simple here but when I from the global configuration mode are trying to enter the ip wccp command it just says "invalid input" from wccp. There is no such command.. should be supported on my device from IOS 12.2(37)
I am trying to enable wccp on 6509. Its works fine on port 80 but not with https (443). Also i have noticed when i use the following

I have a Head Quarter and a remote site running over a OC3 circuit. [code]
On the HQ, I have a Cisco VXR7204 running IOS 12.4.15T(10) Advanced IP Serviceand the remote site is a Cisco 2851 also running IOS 12.4.15T(10) Advanced Ip Service. The HQ has a Riverbed Steelhead 5050H capable of delivering 100MbpsWCCP throughput. The remote site has a Riverbed Steelhead 1050H which can deliver 10Mbps WCCP throughput. At the HQ, the LAN network is 192.168.251.0/24.The Steelhead residing on the 192.168.251.0 network.At the remote site, the LAN network is 192.168.103.0/24 and 192.168.211.0/24.The Riverbed resides on the 192.168.103.0/24 network.
When a host on network 192.168.211.0/24 download a file from network192.168.251.0/24 network via http, the CPU on the Cisco 2851 goes to 99% utilization and that it stays there for the duration of the http session. There is very little traffic goes across the WAN whichis the way it should be but the CPU on the 2851 stays at constant at99% CPU utilization.
Why would WCCP consume so much CPU on the Cisco 2851? By the way, I am only getting about 5Mbps download instead of 90Mbps download, I think because of the high CPU on the router?
I have a WCCP Configuration on a Catalyst 3750G and a IronPort Webappliance. I have configured this situation many times before with cisco asa and ironport wsa, but with a switch, this is my first time.
VLAN 147 is a transportation vlan between the cisco switch and a hp coreswitch with the clients and servers behind the hp coreswitch.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to apply a policy-based route on one of our L3 switches (Cisco 3750) to change the next-hop of a couple of servers only. The VLAN where those servers reside got WCCP enabled on it. When I want to apply the route-policy to that VLAN interface it doesn't let me. When I try to apply the same policy to a VLAN interface without WCCP it does work. Is there any Cisco IOS limitations that would prevent me from doing that?

I have a Cisco 7206VXR running 12.4(24)T3 IOS. It is configured with WCCPv2 using L2 mask redirection. I am using service groups and associated extended ACLs to select which subnets I want to redirect port 80 traffic from.
It is working fine for the subnet 192.168.1.0/24....

... however, there is OSPF running between the router and a Mikrotik device directly connected to this interface. The gateway addresses for all the client subnets are on the Mikrotik. Traffic from other subnets, e.g. 192.168.2.0/24, 192.168.3.0/24 come in on this interface and I want to redirect those too. But it appears that the redirection doesn't work for those subnets (I don't see any hits on the relevant ACL for any subnet except 192.168.1.0/24).
It seems like the router only wants to redirect traffic for subnets that it has an IP address in itself. Admittedly, all of the example configs i've found on cisco.com are for redirecting traffic from directly connected subnets but I can't find anything that denies thie possibility of redirecting any traffic that comes in on a given interface.
The question is, is this how WCCPv2 redirection works? i.e., the router must have an IP address in the subnet to be redirected?
Can i configure proxy on ASA 5510? i.e for internet use my user should be authenticate by ASA5510 and after successful authentication user should be allowed to access internet and futher is it possible to do bandwidth managment with ASA5510?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had problem with IP conflit address from cisco router 2911 , all the time the router respond with ARP reply (duplicate use of IP : x.y.z.t with the same Mac Address ) and the IP subject of conflit dosen't appear in any router's interfaces configuration (basic configuration without dhcp) ,the problem was solved problem when I desactivete proxy arp but I can't understand this behavior , why arp proxy respond to all IP address with same Mac even the IP dosen't exist in router ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am seeing a strange situation on my 6500 switch?By having snmp walk on '1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.3' (== cpmCPUTotal5sec), I came to know that there are two processor and the cpu util for switching processor is gone to 88 % and some time creeps to 99 %.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to restrict Inter-VLAN routing through L3 switch (cisco 6500) and wanted to know best possible way to do it. I used VACL and achieved success to some extent, but my config is making clients take up to 5-6 mins to authenticate IP address from the DNS (bootps).My VACL config was as follows:
Subnet to restrict is 10.100.15.0 (VLAN 15)
STEP 1: Created extended ACL to allow bootpc/bootps through DNS
ip access-list extended EACL_DNS
permit udp any eq bootps any
permit udp any eq bootpc any
STEP 2: Created standard ACLs to allow only relevant subnet, server VLANs & some IPs from other subnets for printers/scanners etc.
ip access-list standard SACL_VLAN_15
permit 10.100.15.0 0.0.0.255 (the subnet I'm restricting)
permit 10.100.50.0 0.0.0.255 (server VLANs)
permit 10.100.25.45 0.0.0.0 (printer in another VLAN which has to have access in VLAN 15)

1. I'm still able to PING 10.100.15.2 (the switch virtual interface) from outside the subnet, which I don't intend to do so. Howeve all cients in the subnet have no connectivity from outside the VLAN 15.
2. As mentioned its taking quiet some time to negotiate with the DNS server at system boot time.
I used to "ip routing" command in order to enable inter-vlan routing, for example with 3750 cisco. I have a 6503 cisco with SUP720 MSFC3. I was able to create some vlans but I can not configure inter-vlan routing.

I have tried to test copy tftp: numerous time with no success. I believe the reason it is failing is my laptop to Ethernet port is in vlan 62 and the tftp process operates in a different IP space.I am using gig 7/1 and configuring my laptop nic for x.x.x.254 mask 255.255.255.0. I can ping from laptop to gateway) and I can ping from the switch to my laptop using ping vrf production x.x.x.254. Can you tell me what vlan I need to set my laptop connection in or if there is something else I need to change to make tftp work on vlan62?Does TFTP only work in vlan1 or can it be changed?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are setup like a hotel style workers camp. We have wings full of rooms and residents with 3750 stacks in them. Those switches connect back to our core 6500's. The network is mostly all Layer 3, interfaces are routed with IPs.
When it was built before my time they included an ACL for each wing so that residents couldn't access internal devices (IE SSH to 6500) but I've come to notice it's not working.
I see hits on the ACL for accepts but nothing is hitting the deny rule at the top.Here is the configuration below:
