Cisco VPN :: Can't See LAN When Connected Via Pix 501
Sep 16, 2012
I used the VPN wizard and can connect, but I cannot see any servers. I clicked incorrectly in another post marking it as "Correct Answer", so know I have to post again as his answer pertains to Windows 98.

I'm currently running the internet through my main PC to other devices in the household by using ICS.
One thing I've noticed is that I can't simply fill in the IP address of the PC hooked up through the router I'm running the ICS through, and connect via FTP (Filezilla). In order to FTP between two local devices, I have to disable the ICS, switch the ICS hosting PC's ethernet plug from the "Internet" port to the "LAN" port, and maybe reboot the router. after doing all of this, I can then FTP connect to another PC for instance.
Is it possible to have an ICS setup between two PCs, and still have the ability to FTP between them as well?

On my Switch (3750), i have a host connected. Checked the interface status and it shows as "connected". However, when i tried checking the MAC connected to that interface, its not showingI have my Switch (3750) connected to a Router (3845). On the Switch, i have a printer connected in an interface. I am seeing the Printer's MAC associated with the switch port. However, when i checked the ARP table; no entry seen for the Printer's MAC. What are the possible reasons for this? We have several same kind of devices connected to network and they are fine.

So we have a cisco asa 5505. Once a day now (random times) it will suddenly be unreachable along with the hosts connected. If I console in and ping a host from the asa, suddenly it becomes reachable from the outside world again. My job prohibits me from posting the configuration online.

I have a problem with pinging APs that are connected to WLC 2106. We have a TRUNK with VLAN50, VLAN51 and VLAN71 (all tagged) connected to our WLC 2106. VLAN50 is our management network. We have configured bot management and AP-management interfaces on WLC with IP addresses from our management network and we have set both to VLAN 50. We have also configured static IP addresses on every AP, connected to WLC.
The problem is we cannot ping APs. This means that APs can’t connect to any other device on the management network and we would like to use RADIUS for WiFi client authentication.
How can we solve this problem? I guess if we configure VLAN50 as native untagged VLAN in our TRUN, this would work? Is there any way to configure this without using native VLAN?
We also have problem with IPv6 connectivity. We have configured DHCP and we are using 1.1.1.1 DHCP proxy and it works great for IPv4, but how can we configure DHCP proxy for IPv6 addresses? Our WiFi clients need to get also IPv6 addresses. I have enabled “IPv6 enabled” option on the WLC.

I have lets say a /24 directly connected via a vlan on a C6500 in the network.I'm trying to migrate some servers/devices away from it , however I need to move parts of it away bit by bit ( For example a /32 or a /30 that make up the /24 )Ive tried a direct ip route x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 y.y.y.y and even a ip route x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 y.y.y.y 1
Yet it still prefers the directly connected range ( as I pretty much expected. )
Is there any way I get it to prefer a static route over a directly connected?

I moved into the new house with two laptops with Windows Vista installed. Since then I have been experiencing severe problems with the wireless connection. The operator is TalkTalk.
As soon as we realised that the problem seemed to exist exclusively on our Vistas (since the two Macs, of another couple of tenants who had been living here for long, were working correctly as usual) we called the company. They suggested many things I have already read on this forum such as deleting the other networks, re-adding mine manually etc. We then realised that things were more complicated than initially thought and started analysing the problem more in depth. We went through their website and changed different settings, including those listed in the properties of "Manage wireless connection" or sth like that (we changed some IP configurations, the protocol ivp4/6, etc.). The outcome was that my Vistas started working while the Macs stopped.
I called them again many other times but no conclusive solution was ever found. I eventually talked to another operator who drew the conclusion according to which the WEP configuration of our Vistas is not compatible with that of the MAC. In other words either the Vistas would work or the Macs. No way they could both work at the same time!!!!

I ran into a bit of an issue today while testing a vpn software on a virtual machine(win7); I successfully connected to vpn, then the connection dropped and since with the vpn connection another ip address was assigned, now I'm unable to communicate with that VM.
I am able to find it in SCCM via hostname, but can't reboot it or start anything on it.

I've had this problem with my parents internet for some time now, but it's getting gradually worse. It goes through stages of being connected to the internet but won't load web pages. The error messages are;
On Firefox: "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"
On Chrome: "The connection to www.example.co.uk was interrupted"
But my computer still says it is connected, and indeed some downloading still works even though web pages won't load (i was able to download the 'Settlers 7' demo from bittorrent and the full game from steam uninterrupted)
ISP is Post Office Connection is DSL Up to 3 computers share this connection, 2 connected by wireless and 1 by LAN. I used to believe this problem affected all 3 computers simultaneously, but now Im not sure

About a week ago I went on my computer and opened up Mozilla Firefox and it tried loading for a couple of seconds then it went to a white screen. I opened up internet explorer and it says can't find page. I have the pc hardwired with an Ethernet cable to my router. The computer says it is connected and has strong strength. Every other device connected to that router has internet and connects just fine. My antivirus popped up and said it detected a threat then I ran a virus scan and it found nothing

I use Comcast cable as my ISP. My cable modem is located downstairs in my house. The cable modem has an Ethernet cable connected to port in a wall right next to it. In another room in my house I have an Ethernet port in the wall that goes to my wireless router. Connected to my WNDR3700v3 is a Synology DS213. When I am on my wireless network my computer can see it. When I use a Ethernet port in another area of my house I cannot see it.There is a network switch that is located elsewhere in the house. A cable modem connects to that network switch. A Ethernet cable comes out of the switch to a port that then connects to the other ports in the house. When I am connected via the wireless network my router IP address is the same as when I am connected via a wire. What can I do so that when I am either on my wireless or wired network I can see the DS213?

my configuration of Cisco 1841.
I was able to configure the cisco to accept VPN connections from clients. But when i am connected i can not access the VPN LAN. My cisco VPN client shows all the time Packet Decrypted: 0 when connected. I tried the split tunneling configuration based on the example on cisco.com for split tunneling.
I include config for better understanding. The outside interface is fa0/1 with ip 10.0.0.2 w LAN 10.0.0.0 Inside interface fa0/0 with ip 192.168.10.9 w LAN is 192.168.10.0
IP for VPN clients 192.168.20.100 - 105

1) We have a server running active domain, and it also assign the IP address to domain users.
2) All the server, computers are connected to Cisco ASA5505 for the network.
Currently our VPNs were set up to use DHCP and local IP pools. It seems that I can get into the network, however the IP address the VPN gets was from the internal pool not From SERVER. As a result, the VPN is connected, by VPN is not able to ping to the router or the server. Is there anyway, I can configure the router treats VPN as the physical port. then the active domain server can assign the IP address to VPN.

I am trying to set up a redundant OSPF setup and I am seeing behavior I don't quite understand. At the main office I have two routers, a 3825 connected via full DS3 to the MPLS cloud, and a 3925 connected to the Internet for VPN backup. There are nine branches, but I am only going to talk about three. The three branches all connect together as well as having their own MPLS connections to the cloud. They are all 2821 routers with a 4.5 Mbps multilink interface into the cloud (three T1's). One of the branches has a backup IPSec/GRE Internet connection that I want any of them to be able to use in case of an MPLS problem (which there have been many lately, sometimes involving all of them going down at the same time). The connection into MPLS uses Inter-area OSPF with the provider. The Tunnel connection is also using IA OSPF (the main office is area 0 and this cluster of branches are all on area 100).
OSPF seems to be behaving oddly. At the main office, on the 3825 with the "backup" shut off, if I do "show ip route 10.51.0.0" it shows this output: [code]If the metric before was 24, why would it put in a route with a metric of 53 now? What's worse is that the branches all think they should connect over the MPLS and the main office sends everything over the VPN. It works, but I don't really want asymetric routing! I have included some configs as well... those which I consider relevant. I am including a diagram that has more on it than is relevant, but what I referenced is here (and yes, spanning-tree has been properly configured on the red fiber connections with the connection between FEC2960 and Hl2960 blocking, but try to ignore the LAN stuff because this is in a transitional phase right now anyway).

After nothing but hassles with my Linksys WAG120N, I bought a Cisco RV110W. Yesterday, I tried setting it up with the Linksys being used only as a modem. I was unable to though because when I entered 192.168.1.1 into my browser as per the Cisco setup instructions, I was taken to the admin login for the Linksys. This seemed odd to me, because the Linksys was not connected to the PC at all. The connection setup was exactly as specified in the RV110W instructions: modem connected to dsl line, ethernet cable from modem (Linksys WAG120N) to the slot marked "WAN" on the RV110W, another ethernet cable from RV110W to my PC. Despite this, the admin page was for the linksys not the cisco.
Today, I exchanged the WAG120N for a Netgear DM111P, just a modem, not a router. Same setup configuration: modem connected to dsl line, ethernet cable from modem (NetgearDM111P) to the slot marked "WAN" on the RV110W, another ethernet cable from RV110W to my PC. Same result - type in 192.168.1.1 and get taken to the admin page for "Netgear DM111P" .
