We create a LAN with D Link switch(8 port).6 pc working properly and 1 pc even not connected to LAN we check wire,the signal are transmitted properly through wire.Crimping is done properly.

i have two a laptop and a notebook, i have moved into a new house at university and have a great internet connection with everything working brilliantly! for the first time today i tried to connect my actual laptop to the internet but it wont. It connects to the correct router and that router is working fine but my laptop says 'local only' and will not let me connect to the Internet at all?

I've tried just about everything, from using the netsh commands to changing the dns to 8.8.8.8 or that other one or the other. Nothing is working, I unplugged the router, problem persists, I disabled IPV6 problem persists, I restore, problem persists. The only clue I have is my router, and mysteriously, there are TWO of my computer on it. It might be nothing but most certainly has caught my attention. Just a couple of days ago my internet stopped working but the modem connection would always say its on. I've also noticed that the firewall is off and when I try to turn it on, it won't let me. Also, before the internet stopped working .I uninstalled pc tools *because I already had malwarebytes* but I don't know if that has anything to do with the internet not working. I've already tried the basics.. like putting it on safe mode and changing modems but nothing has worked so far.

my netgear wireless modem model - wgr614 v10. When I connect router to PC via LAN cable the wifi speed on my mobile goes to around 8MBPS and as soon as I disconnect LAN cable from PC it went down to almost 0. In short wifi only working fine when LAN is connected to my PC . I have selected channel 11 and Mode upto 54 MBPS and WPA-PSK key. My region is North America and latest firmware is available on my router. As recommended by some netgear support representative I changed the Fragmentation Length and CTS/RTS Threshold to 2304 but the problem is still there. What I noticed after that is as soon as I remove the LAN cable from my PC the wireless network start showing me no Internet access. And as soon as I insert LAN cable again to my PC wifi start working.

I thought it was the browser so I installed the Internet Explorer 9 and while doing so it was able to download the updates but when I open up the browser it still doesn't work.
I'm thinking that it might be a network problem but I've ran out of ideas. View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought I router today, Linksys E2500 and set it up, for some reason its connected with full strength but the internet does not work on my computer, or any other device connected to the network I established on the router. I've looked through so many articles and posts on here, I've fixed the winsock, I tried the netsh winsock and the netsh int ip reset reset.log, but when I put in netsh int ip reset reset.log in the command prompt, nothing happens after I press enter. I've updated through microsoft updates, and updated some drivers from the hp website. Ive repaired, and tried restarting the router, and even the modem and nothing changed. It's still connected, but the interenet still is not working. The modem is fine, as when I disable the wireless connection, the internet works. Yes, I have Sp3 installed. I am using windows xp and the computer is called HP Pavilion a1013w Desktop PC.

[code] If I connect my computer to the HAG, it, of course, works fine.Yesterday, I hit the reset button on the back of the conitech router (because they didn't have the password) and went through the setup wizard, connecting my HAG to the WAN port on the router and it worked fine, both connecting via wireless and with a cable to one of the LAN ports on the router.Today it is no longer working. Both wireless and LAN show it is connected but I can't access the internet.

I had to format my hard drive yesterday but the back up disc I have wasn't working, so I reinstalled Windows XP straight from an XP disc. I was missing a few drivers which I've managed to find. One of the devices showing as unknown was the Ethernet Controller, which was preventing me from being able to use the Internet. I managed to find myself the drivers for this "Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC". Now no devices are showing as unknown, all are showing as working and the below screenshot shows that apparently I'm connected (via ethernet cable), but for some reason the Internet isn't working.

But when I try to connect (want to connect 2 more laptops via wireless) either one of the two laptops, the whole network stops working immediately. I have tried updating the drivers (they are up to date), removing the password from the router, gave the laptops static IPs (and all other pcs as well) with no results. As soon as one of the 2 laptops joins the network through wireless, it stops working for everybody. However if I connect them through the cable they work fine. One of the laptops uses win vista 64 bit, the other one win 7 64 bit. We have cisco RangePlus Wireless Router wrt110.

Due to cabling issues, we have a switch (Switch F) that we can't connect directly to the 3750X so we have it connected through another switch. Everything is set to VTP client with the correct domain and password but this not-directly-connected switch isn't receiving any VTP VLANs.
Anything I need to do on Switch D so that Switch F can receive the VTP updates?

A few days ago my internet suddenly stopped working. I plugged in the ethernet cord and everything worked fine. Checking the properties in the device manager showed the device was working properly, I also tried resetting it to make sure it was enabled but it did not work.
Upon troubleshooting, the "Windows Network Diagnostic" said the problems was that the Wireless adapter was not turned on. Using the switch on the front of the laptop as well as the function keys does nothing. Usually a graphic pops up showing if the WiFi is on or off, changinging transparent to show the WiFi is disabled. Now when I turn the switch on it always appears transparent, effectively going from off to off
So I know the computer reads both the function keys and the switch on the front but both methods never actually turns the adapter on. I just finished a system restore and nothing has changed
Today, while surfing the web my internet connection on my PC just randomly shuts off. I go check on my laptop and its normal. My WiFi says that I am connected to an Unidentified network with no internet access. So i got frustrated and checked all the forums and nothing seemed to work. So i restored my computer to factory settings and I still got this problem. Does this mean my Wifi Card is bad? Is it a virus? I can see other networks fine but i just cant connect to mine!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running the internet through my main PC to other devices in the household by using ICS.
One thing I've noticed is that I can't simply fill in the IP address of the PC hooked up through the router I'm running the ICS through, and connect via FTP (Filezilla). In order to FTP between two local devices, I have to disable the ICS, switch the ICS hosting PC's ethernet plug from the "Internet" port to the "LAN" port, and maybe reboot the router. after doing all of this, I can then FTP connect to another PC for instance.
Is it possible to have an ICS setup between two PCs, and still have the ability to FTP between them as well?
I moved into the new house with two laptops with Windows Vista installed. Since then I have been experiencing severe problems with the wireless connection. The operator is TalkTalk.
As soon as we realised that the problem seemed to exist exclusively on our Vistas (since the two Macs, of another couple of tenants who had been living here for long, were working correctly as usual) we called the company. They suggested many things I have already read on this forum such as deleting the other networks, re-adding mine manually etc. We then realised that things were more complicated than initially thought and started analysing the problem more in depth. We went through their website and changed different settings, including those listed in the properties of "Manage wireless connection" or sth like that (we changed some IP configurations, the protocol ivp4/6, etc.). The outcome was that my Vistas started working while the Macs stopped.
I called them again many other times but no conclusive solution was ever found. I eventually talked to another operator who drew the conclusion according to which the WEP configuration of our Vistas is not compatible with that of the MAC. In other words either the Vistas would work or the Macs. No way they could both work at the same time!!!!
