I accendentally turn off the p.c. Without properly shutting it down... When I turn on the computer again, there is no more internet connection... I clicked the network icon on the siede to find out why... It is stated: Not connected; No connections are available... I clicked the "Troubleshoot" link, and accdg. To it: the local area connection is experiencing driver or hardware related problems... I clicked next and it says the wireless network adapter is experiencing problem... We are using wi-fi in our home..
my laptop says not connected, no connections are available. Im thinking thats bizzare because we have wireless connection in our house it was on to and everyone elses computers are working even phones
There was a big storm last night, and when I woke up I found that I couldn't connect to the internet. I have my computer plugged into the cable modem. The Windows network status says "Not connected, No connections are available". The onboard NIC that I had been using is no longer showing up in the device manager. I figured lightening might have knocked it out, even though my computer is behind a UPS and surge protector, so I bought a PCI ethernet card. This installed correctly and is showing up in the device manager, but I'm still getting the same error. When I unplug the ethernet cable, there is no change in the status.
I've been trying to find a response or a fix to this issue for a few weeks now.My DIR-655 RevB router is currently at firmware 2.07NA, and has speeds of around 30Mbps down and 10Mbps up when connected directly through wired connections. However over wifi, I am only getting around about 5 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up. I've tried the 'usual' fixes suggested on here, change broadcast signal to manual, not auto, shutting of QoS shaping, all of that. However nothing seems to be improving the speed.
My 655 router (RevB, Firmware 2.03) is connected from one side to a DSL modem and on the side to two wired PC's and via wi-fi to several other wireless clients (two smart phones and two notebooks). All is well until I try to connect a specific notebook. Connection is estabished for about 30sec and then the router drops ALL connections (including internet and local network!) and I must re-start him by un-plugging from power. This phenomena is specific to a specific notebook since with the other one
I have a Linksys WRT120N with two desktops connected via wired connections. In the house, there are two students accessing the Internet through WiFi via the WRT120N.One of the laptops (on an Apple laptop) seems to lose its' connection from time to time. The other laptop (Lenovo) is located the furthest distance from the router and only gets two bars signal strength.Would my best option to improve the signal strength for the Lenovo laptop and hopefully, also increase reliability for the Apple laptop be to purchase a new router such as a Linksys E1500 with speed boost or would it be best to try a Linksys range extender (RE1000)?
The router works fine until I plug the 4th wire in the back, which goes to a 2nd desktop computer, then it is only a matter of time until the router drops all internet connections including the direct wire to desktop #1, wireless, and the other two wires. This is my 2nd e2000 router since Amazon replaced the first one after about 4 months as it was having the same problem.
I need to have some (maybe four) virtual network interfaces, one face of them connected to my laptop and another face bridged to one of my physical network interfaces. How can i do that?Ive tried VirtNet and Microsoft Loopback Adapter but no success.
What I Mean By "Two Connections On One PC".I Am A Youtuber So I Like To Play Games, Upload Stuff Etc.But The Problem Is That When I'm Uploading I Cant Play Games Because Of The Lag.So Is There A Way To Setup Two Connections (One For Uploading And One For Gaming Etc.)
I was simply surfing the net and installed a program. I then deleted the program and simultaneously i was unable to connect to the internet using wifi. Connecting to the internet is not a problem with the Ethernet cable plugged in. I have checked everything i can with the router and the wifi is still active. When i try to connect to the wifi, using the symbol on the taskbar, it tells me that there are no connections available.I also tried using my iphone personal hotspot and that was also undetectable. When i go into the device manager, the only icon that is flagged is the, network controller. I have un-installed it and rebooted, I have restarted it. Quite annoying i might add
At any moment I have almost a thousand connections from / to my network attached storage (NAS), it's from D-Link (DNS-320) from unknown outside IPs.
I have a home network, everything sitting behind a Linksys router with a DD-WRT installed on it (here I see these connections). You can see the output here: url...
There probably would be many more connections, but the modem only allows so many. Unfortunately, they all use a different port (otherwise I'd just block that one). Because of all of this, my internet is very slow (connections are saturated)
I have a dual boot computer - Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 Home Premium. When booted into Vista I can map my Network and connect to the Internet, a network printer (ethernet) and a second Windows XP computer. When I boot into Windows 7 I can still access the internet and my networked devices but I cannot map my network. Also, the network system icon (bottom right-hand screen) shows erroneously that no connections are available - but clearly they are! The attachments show the status of my Vista and Windows 7 connections. The only thing that appears to be odd is that my Windows 7 system is set to 'Public' and my Vist system is set to 'Home'. I have tried all manner of things to change Windows 7 to 'Home' but to no avail.
It started when I couldn't connect to a specific website for 2 days. I had to change my IP to get on again, and when I did I got a message from the admin saying that I had been blocked automatically because my browser was using upwards of 200 connections at a time. He made me check all the browser settings for it, and everything was still set at default. I didn't download any program or add-on, I did nothing special. It started out of the blue. I did virus scans, I reinstalled firefox and opera (the browsers I use). At this point I have no clue what the problem is.
I use VNC all over my LAN.How do I make sure that it's secure and disable connections comming from outside my LAN?would forwarding the VNC port to a non-existing computer work? or would that just break my local VNC connections?I currently have some using ultravnc and some using tightvnc
The problem started a few days ago, with no apparent catalyst. I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a computer I built myself. The ethernet controller is built into my motherboard, an ASUS P5Q SE PLUS. As far as I can determine, the ethernet controller is a Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. Here's the ipconfig that I ran:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:Documents and SettingsOwner>ipconfig /all
I have recently had some problems with my home wifi connections however that has been resolved.A week after it was resolved, i noticed on startup my wifi did not appear on the connections tab so i have to restart my computer one or two times to make it appear
my neibour has kindly said i can use her internet connection. she has a wireless router. i have my own internet, but need more speed. can i use both internet connections by connecting my router to hers wirelessly?
Just bought CLEAR WiFi and un trying to connect to it on my pretty old Windows XP but when I go to network connections all I see is Local Area Connection...there's no WiFi available but my clear router is right next to my desktop & its working on my Mac Ps3 and Phone ...and I can't open my available wireless networks..
I have A WAN and DSL for Internet connection in my work place and both are using differnet Network address which means both have their own routers and i have connected both on the same cisco switch. And my Question is how can i use both connection on one computer with out changing every time the ip address of the computer.
I have set up a server running Windows Server 2008 which two remote users can dial into using a VPN connection. It works fine unless they are both in the same location, in which case only one of them can connect. If one is connected and the other one tries to log in, it normally kicks out the first connection.I think this is because the PPTP protocol cannot cope with two VPN connections from the same IP address. Is this correct? If so, what can I do about it? Is there a work around, or would one of the other VPN protocols work? If so, how easy is it to set these up (I'm no IT professional)? Please note that the remote location in question is in a serviced office, so I'm not in a position to change or play around with their router.
Past few days I've been having problems with my WiFi connections. the modem connection to my desktop works fine.. i called the isp guy to fix it.. he did something to my roommates laptop and the WiFi works on it.. but any other device trying to connect to the WiFi connection doesn't seem to get the net.
As in like if i try to connect to the WiFi connection from my phone it shows that iv been connected to it but i cannot open anything.. no internet browser page, no fb, no whats app, no play store.. Nothing.. what could be the problem.. it was working fine a week back.. don't no what could have changed? and there is no problem with my phone.. cause i tested it to another WiFi connection as well.
I am working on a project at my company. In short, there is one PC in the office to which other user must remotely connect to perform certain tasks. The stuff they do must be done from the machine with the specific IP, the IP of that machine, as this is specified in agreements with the companies we work with. So far, we have been using Remote Desktop (our machines are Windows-XP-based PC's), but this is quite annoying when more than one person needs to use the machine at the same time
The fastest dsl speeds here is 1.5mbpsand I need something around 3mbps+. I'm curious if I could buy two 1.5 connections from my ISP and connect them both into a router and then hook a switch up to it and connect my PCs and everything to it to get 3 or if I would still just get the 1.5?
Trying to connect to the internet using my gateway laptop. Using a belkin G. wired connection I get: "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration wireless connection I get: "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configurationMy desktop which is connected by ethernet cable works fine and my sisters laptop using wireless is able to connect as well. I'm assuming settings on my laptop are wrong.I'm running win7 and haven't had issues until lately. drivers are up to date.
My dad just had to send his Acer Aspire back to the manufacturer to get the fan replaced. It came back factory reset and would not connect to any internet wired or otherwise. He called me and I asked him to bring it over. I can get it to connect to via Ethernet at my house, however, wireless is a no go. The status bar goes between "no connection available" to showing my network with two bars. When I attempt to connect to my network I get the standard "Window was unable to connect to this network". I currently have another PC, a PS3, a smart phone, and a tablet all connected with no problem (and all at full bars), so I know it's not the router. I ran an ipconfig /all and this is what I got: [code] One thing I did notice is that my IP Routing Enabled was set to NO and when I looked at how to fix that it said to update a registry key.
Is it possible to have two connections from a router to a switch?
Currently we have a wired connection going direct to the the switch however we would like to have a backup wireless connection via two range extenders.
i have 30 pcs hooked up under one network. all 30 sharing 1 internet connection. 10 of those are put in a separate room for certain reasons. but those 10 like to download and cause lag to the other 20 pcs. my plan is to keep the 30 pcs under 1 network but ill add another internet connection exclusively for the 10pcs. and the original internet connection exclusively for the 20 pcs. how can i do that? reason why i need all 30 in the same network is cause they all use softwares needed to be connected to each other locally.
I am having the same problem with a new computer via my home wireless connection. The computer will not connect to the internet at all while at home, but it will connect to the internet in other locations (like at school). My other computer connects to the internet without a problem. The computer that isn't working can recognize that there are wireless connections available, but cannot connect. I got the same message "the default gateway is not available."
just bought a new monitor and graphic card (nvidia gtx 650), proceeded to install it, then installed the drivers. Now that my pc is much more good looking, i can't connect to internet anymore I'm writing this from my netbook, so my router works just fine. I tried to reinstall the graphic card videos, downloading the latest ones, and the drivers of my wireless usb adapter aswell (it's a tp-link TL-WN321G). I had no success, my pc still doesn't see any connection. I didn't find by googling many other examples of people unable to connect to internet after installing nvidia drivers.
I Buyed a new laptop yesterday(24-04-2012) so original W7 and i updated everything incl drivers and everything was great and i let the laptop on when i Was going to sleep and my wireless and lan internet did fine.. But then.. when i wake up suddenly it tells "No Connections Are Available" and i cant find any wifi's anymore + lan does not even work, but the adapters are both working fine it says + they are up to date, the router is fine cuz i have lan on pc and wifi on samsung galaxy, everything about wifi is on incl the button on the laptop..I only have 1 antivirus or so program and i have a red cross @ network and sharing settings?Network adapters (They both work): Atheros AR9285 wireless adapter & Realtek PCIe GBE family controller (both newest drivers installed)
I have a desktop PC where the only internet connection is via a 'USB mobilebroadband dongle'.I have connected the PC via ethernet cable to the ethernet port on a d-link wifi router (which isn't connected to the internet).I'd like to be able to connect other non-PC devices (eg my mobile phone) to the router via wifi in order to connect to the internet. To do this, I gather that one possible solution is to bridge the LAN (not connected to internet) and dongle (connected to internet) connections. My first problem is that in 'Network Connections', only my USBdongle connection is shown (see pic) - there is no icon for the LAN/ethernet. In device manager, the "Atheros AR5007EG Wireless NetworkAdapter" and "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" are both showing without any ?
Other info:I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on a HP Pavilion All-in-one MS200 desktop.
I'd like to use 2 internet connections at the same time.Assuming there are two internet networks.Network A and Network B (both are either wireless OR one is wireless and one is wired OR both are wireless). So, now I want to use BOTH internet connections simultaneously. However, both connections will still be separate and not combined:If I had to transfer big files, then I could do this on network A.Now, I want to use network B for other "normal" internet use so that the transfer of files in network A gets the maximum speed since there is no interference with anything else.I have to let the computer know somehow that there are two connections used simultaneously. I also have to setup what programs use what connection. E.g., IE uses network a and Firefox uses network b, program "x" also uses network b, etc.I would use two network card/USB Wifi Adapers so that each network card/wifi adapter can connect to one network.how do you realize that without setting a Virtual Machine up?
