I have A WAN and DSL for Internet connection in my work place and both are using differnet Network address which means both have their own routers and i have connected both on the same cisco switch.And my Question is how can i use both connection on one computer with out changing every time the ip address of the computer.

Other computers in the house are fine with wireless and the direct connection.This computer I am working on is the one directly connected (not wireless).I tried the connection on other computers and it works.When troubleshooting, it indicates it lost the drivers so we downloaded the correct drivers and installed them on the computer. It indicates it has the updated drivers now. Funny thing is when you start of the computer the error message on the screen is Installation or Upgrade Error A problem occurred during the upgrade process.you must restart your computer. After it restarts, the Webroot upgrade resumes.I am concerned as my daughters computer has the same error message but her Internet connection still works.Seemed to me that Webroot could be a potential problem. Since we can't download the latest version (no internet and can't use disc we have as it tells us it is outdated) I tried to uninstall using WMPinfo.xml to finish the uninstall.I got an error that indicated - "The InstallAware Wizard for Webroot Software has failed: "WRConsumerService stop failed with error 2 and kill failed with error 128". If you continue to have trouble, please click the link below for assistance. And the link is titled Uninstall but without internet it is worthless. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium on the computer I want to make the connection on.I am also using Verizon FioS internet (comes with default router/modem combo) to which I have the DIR-655 router connected. I am able to connect to both WiFi's fine and they work correctly.I think the Verizon router is set to block incoming VPN connections and I think this is why I cannot get anyone to be able to access my computer / internet via VPN. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am with Virgin media (UK) and have the 20mbps fiber optic connection. My area has recently been having problems with the broadband and Virgin has recently fixed these problems. However I used to get around 19mbps now that the problem is fixed my computer which is wired to the router gets about 0.4mbps downstream... However the 5 wireless computers all get 16mbps which is pretty good for them. Windows tells me that its a firewall issue and I currently can't use two programs, spotify and steam. They both have firewall issues, even if I turn off my firewall which is the windows one. I also have avast, and when I turn that off, still no good. I used OpenDNS, stopped using that flushed my DNS, that didnt work. I tried to optimize my computer settings, by changing various values in Regedit.All of this has done nothing. I should add that I have recently re-installed Windows 7 so on this fresh install it has never had decent internet speed. Which I thought was weird.. I have basically had these problems since the fresh install. All of my drivers are up to date.

Connecting to the internet is not a problem with the Ethernet cable plugged in. I have checked everything i can with the router and the wifi is still active. When booted into Vista I can map my Network and connect to the Internet, a network printer (ethernet) and a second Windows XP computer. When I boot into Windows 7 I can still access the internet and my networked devices but I cannot map my network. Also, the network system icon (bottom right-hand screen) shows erroneously that no connections are available - but clearly they are! The attachments show the status of my Vista and Windows 7 connections. The only thing that appears to be odd is that my Windows 7 system is set to 'Public' and my Vist system is set to 'Home'. I have tried all manner of things to change Windows 7 to 'Home' but to no avail.

I had to change my IP to get on again, and when I did I got a message from the admin saying that I had been blocked automatically because my browser was using upwards of 200 connections at a time. He made me check all the browser settings for it, and everything was still set at default. I didn't download any program or add-on, I did nothing special. It started out of the blue. It works fine unless they are both in the same location, in which case only one of them can connect. If one is connected and the other one tries to log in, it normally kicks out the first connection.I think this is because the PPTP protocol cannot cope with two VPN connections from the same IP address. Is this correct? If so, what can I do about it? Is there a work around, or would one of the other VPN protocols work?
