View 1 RepliesCan an ip address be NAT'ed to an ip address on a PIX 515 which isn't an ip address of a network directly connected to an interface on the PIX?
Specifically, can a host with an ip address of 150.140.102.3/26 which is connected to a network whose PIX firewall interface is 150.140.102.1/26 be NAT'ed to an ip address of 150.90.70.1/24 which is not a ip address of an interface that is directly connected to that same PIX 515?
I've attached a PDF depicting the network topology and describing the above. My first response to this question is that it can't be configured to do this, but need either a confirmation or correction to this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've setup a CISCO 871 which receives DHCP IP address on WAN interface Fa4 and DHCP-assigned static IP Address on virtual-ppp1. The static address is used for site-to-site VPN's, while I've planned the DHCP address for standard web access and CISCO VPN Client dial-out.
Internally, I've created 2 VLAN's, one for standard PC's with access to the remote sites via site-to-site and cisco client, and the other for a 'secured' area with only HTTP/S allowed out. [code]
Clients in the PCLAN should also be allowed to dial-out using CISCO VPN client to remote sites via the OUTSIDE interface. This is partially working because the client does log into a remote site, however I cannot ping or rdp remote stations once connected."ip inspect log drop-packets" does not reveal dropped packets when trying to ping or rdp. I am connected to unencrypted wireless, firewall turned off. My dropbox will sync and if I open IE I can access www.microsoft.com [very slowly] but so far that is all. Chrome wont open anything - just says proxy server problem. If I run diagnose from IE it say my connection is fine. I have AVG free software. I do get a error from totalnetguard when I boot up that says it can't log on. If I use my aircard direct on the computers usb slot and connect that way everything works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Voip pbx resides on a seperate lan, not connected to the ASA. Users from behind the ASA (inside) try to connect to the VOIP pbx using a soft phone. The Voip connection is established, however users cannot here conversations on either end.Im assuming this is possibly a Sip and Pat issue? The ASA firewall is using a seperate Global IP for PAT. Also I have opened ports on the outside interface for SIP udp 8081, 2088,16000-16010 and 15000-15511. I have both SIP and H323 h225 inspection in place as well.

These are 192.168.20.0/24, 192.168.30.0/24, 192.168.40.0/24, 192.168.50.0/24 and 192.168.60.0/24,When a user connects via Cisco VPN Client they can see the inside network but can't talk to the remote networks connected, for instance 192.168.40.0/24... whereas an internal user can. I understand that the VPN client connection is seen as an outside connection, not an inside connection... but then I read [URL] and I am confused even more.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a single 5510 ASA and a paired of 3750 Stacked Switches. I was trying to create an Ether channel on the ASA and connected to the SW Stack port channel to support different VLANs sub interfaced at the ASA. am confused with the following statement from doc. [URL].
Section Guidelines and Limitations :
"The ASA does not support connecting an Ether Channel to a switch stack. If the ASA Ether Channel is connected cross stack, and if the Master switch is powered down, then the Ether Channel connected to the remaining switch will not come up.
What "If the ASA Ether Channel is connected cross stack"? or better. Is it possible to use the ASA 8.4 Port-Channel to connect it to the 3750 ether channel stack?
I have two ASA 5505's. One is currently setup as my firewall connected to the Cox Cable modem and wireless AP. I have another ASA that I would like to use, I have an idea that I could set that one up as a VPN unit, but not sure how I could do that. If that is not an option, can you provide the command line instructions on how to setup the VPN via the console cable. [code]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to install an asa 5510 at my hq. Our MPLS network is provided by our ISP and the routers are managed by them. They will be working with me to add the needed routes to the routers. Using version 8.4.1 That said, here is my challenge:
I am connecting the MPLS routers and WAAS device to my core switch(also performing inter-vlan routing) in VLAN 2. There are 3 connections needed for the mpls equipment and they are all in vlan 2 on my core switch. The firewall (ASA 5510 with security plus licensing) also has an interface (outside) in vlan 2.

configuration guides or suggest TAC as they have been a bit inconsistent with this issue thus far. What am I missing because I cannot get to where inside interface of the firewall is pingable by the lan and the outside interface of the firewall is pingable by the lan.
I am migrating over from and old PIX to an ASA 5510. I have a switch layer 6500 series connected to a firewall, the port configuration between them is layer 2, in another words I do not configure an IP address in the Cisco switch port to conected it in the firewall, but when a apply a policy on firewall it lose communication with others vlans, just the vlan that is connected between the switch and firewall works, attachment the design. I think that is necessary to configure the connection between the firewall and switch as layer 3 ( a port with IP address in the switch), but I would like to know why? The switch is configured with about 10 vlan and it is a inter vlan routing, a default route is configured in the switch where the gateway is the firewall.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running the internet through my main PC to other devices in the household by using ICS.
One thing I've noticed is that I can't simply fill in the IP address of the PC hooked up through the router I'm running the ICS through, and connect via FTP (Filezilla). In order to FTP between two local devices, I have to disable the ICS, switch the ICS hosting PC's ethernet plug from the "Internet" port to the "LAN" port, and maybe reboot the router. after doing all of this, I can then FTP connect to another PC for instance.
Is it possible to have an ICS setup between two PCs, and still have the ability to FTP between them as well?
On my Switch (3750), i have a host connected. Checked the interface status and it shows as "connected". However, when i tried checking the MAC connected to that interface, its not showingI have my Switch (3750) connected to a Router (3845). On the Switch, i have a printer connected in an interface. I am seeing the Printer's MAC associated with the switch port. However, when i checked the ARP table; no entry seen for the Printer's MAC. What are the possible reasons for this? We have several same kind of devices connected to network and they are fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with pinging APs that are connected to WLC 2106. We have a TRUNK with VLAN50, VLAN51 and VLAN71 (all tagged) connected to our WLC 2106. VLAN50 is our management network. We have configured bot management and AP-management interfaces on WLC with IP addresses from our management network and we have set both to VLAN 50. We have also configured static IP addresses on every AP, connected to WLC.
The problem is we cannot ping APs. This means that APs can’t connect to any other device on the management network and we would like to use RADIUS for WiFi client authentication.
How can we solve this problem? I guess if we configure VLAN50 as native untagged VLAN in our TRUN, this would work? Is there any way to configure this without using native VLAN?
We also have problem with IPv6 connectivity. We have configured DHCP and we are using 1.1.1.1 DHCP proxy and it works great for IPv4, but how can we configure DHCP proxy for IPv6 addresses? Our WiFi clients need to get also IPv6 addresses. I have enabled “IPv6 enabled” option on the WLC.
1)i have problem in LMS 4.2 , he shows most devices not connected to topology sitting lonly even though the have cdp enable , how to force these to join the topology

I have lets say a /24 directly connected via a vlan on a C6500 in the network.I'm trying to migrate some servers/devices away from it , however I need to move parts of it away bit by bit ( For example a /32 or a /30 that make up the /24 )Ive tried a direct ip route x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 y.y.y.y and even a ip route x.x.x.x 255.255.255.255 y.y.y.y 1
Yet it still prefers the directly connected range ( as I pretty much expected. )
Is there any way I get it to prefer a static route over a directly connected?
We have 2 4404 controllers running 6.0.x code. I have several SSID setup with different VLANS. When the clients associate they do not show the name of the AP they are connected to, is there any way to display the assocated AP name?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved into the new house with two laptops with Windows Vista installed. Since then I have been experiencing severe problems with the wireless connection. The operator is TalkTalk.
As soon as we realised that the problem seemed to exist exclusively on our Vistas (since the two Macs, of another couple of tenants who had been living here for long, were working correctly as usual) we called the company. They suggested many things I have already read on this forum such as deleting the other networks, re-adding mine manually etc. We then realised that things were more complicated than initially thought and started analysing the problem more in depth. We went through their website and changed different settings, including those listed in the properties of "Manage wireless connection" or sth like that (we changed some IP configurations, the protocol ivp4/6, etc.). The outcome was that my Vistas started working while the Macs stopped.
I called them again many other times but no conclusive solution was ever found. I eventually talked to another operator who drew the conclusion according to which the WEP configuration of our Vistas is not compatible with that of the MAC. In other words either the Vistas would work or the Macs. No way they could both work at the same time!!!!
I ran into a bit of an issue today while testing a vpn software on a virtual machine(win7); I successfully connected to vpn, then the connection dropped and since with the vpn connection another ip address was assigned, now I'm unable to communicate with that VM.
I am able to find it in SCCM via hostname, but can't reboot it or start anything on it.
I've had this problem with my parents internet for some time now, but it's getting gradually worse. It goes through stages of being connected to the internet but won't load web pages. The error messages are;
On Firefox: "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"
On Chrome: "The connection to www.example.co.uk was interrupted"
But my computer still says it is connected, and indeed some downloading still works even though web pages won't load (i was able to download the 'Settlers 7' demo from bittorrent and the full game from steam uninterrupted)
ISP is Post Office Connection is DSL Up to 3 computers share this connection, 2 connected by wireless and 1 by LAN. I used to believe this problem affected all 3 computers simultaneously, but now Im not sure
