Cisco VPN :: Internet Access With AnyConnect And ASA 8.3?
Nov 27, 2011
I have AnyConnect configured with ASA 8.3 and I'm able to access everything on the internal LAN just fine. However, I cannot connect to the Internet while I'm connected to AnyConnect. I've tried different DNS servers in the AnyConnect profile, different Split Tunnel settings. I just can't seem to figure out the Internet issue. And the strange thing is I can't resolve any Internet addresses either through the AnyConnect connection. When I try pinging [URL] it just says that it can't find the host [URL].

I can make some "local policy" with client of SSL VPN AnyConnect and block access to internet?
The user would only have access to the internet if he was connected to the VPN (by internal proxy).

I'm having problems getting AnyConnect clients to reach a server (192.168.139.3) on the Inside interface of my ASA 5505. Ideally, this would be accessible from the DfltAccessPolicy or another dedicated policy, but right now I'm happy with any access. Everything else seems to be working as expected. I've rebuilt this config a number of times without success. I can ping the IP from the ASA itself.

I'm trying to connect two ASA 5505s for a IPSec L2L VPN. They can connect, but not pass traffic from the AnyConnect subnet. I've added the config from ASA-2, with the LAN subnet of 192.168.138.0 and a subnet of 192.168.238.0 for AnyConnect client.
I'm trying to get the AnyConnect Clients access to the 192.168.137.0 LAN behind ASA-1 at 1.1.1.1. Having both 192.168.238.0 and 192.168.138.0 both access 192.168.137.0 is acceptable.
There's probably a lot of cruft in this config, as I've been reading all over forums and docs without much success.

I have a ASA 5540+SSM-40 on which I have configured webvpn and it's listening for connections on the outside interface. It can be accessed from outside the network (the internet) and works just fine. The problem is, I want to access it from inside the network as well but it doesn't work. I can't ping or connect in any way to the IP address of the outside interface from inside (so I suppose it's not strictly related to the configuration of the webvpn).
I don't think it's a ACL issue because the only ACL filtering I do is on the OUTSIDE-IN (facing the internet), the rest are set to permit any.
What I have to do to be able to access the IP address of the outside interface from networks behind the inside interface?

We have 30 remote workers which we have recently acquired which are being set up with the AnyConnect client to connect to our head end ASA 5510. For security purposes, we have to allow them access to only 3 of our local internal servers, all on our 10.10.X.X/16 subnet. The remotes are being issued a 10.10.50.X/24 address via DHCP on the ASA when connecting. I thought this would be as simple as creating an access list but have not had any luck doing so. In addition, we need to allow them full access to servers in a datacenter connected to our same head end ASA via a site-to-site VPN while they are connected to us using AnyConnect.

I recently went on vacation an went to connect to my company VPN (using Cisco Anyconnect) while connected with my Verizon Aircard. The process churns for a bit then gives me two error messages."AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again.""The VPN connection was terminated due to the loss of the network interface used for the VPN connection."This is the first time using this combination. Using AnyConnect over a wireless connection works fine. The VZ Aircard connection works fine. Just not together. My platform is a Dell E6400 with a Verizon PC5750 running Windows 7 64-bit. Unfortunately, my company support basically stated that they don't have a clue and want to know if it can be resolved once I get back in. Of course that defeats the point. I did notice that the "adapter" created for the aircard does not have the Cisco AnyConnect Network Access Manager Filter Driver listed.

I can get the AnyConnect users to connect fine and they can access sites internal and at other IPSec-tunneled sites. But no access to the internet.
Internal is 10.1.1.x, VPN pool is 10.1.1.251-253 (Temp list for testing). I issued the following tracer: packet-tracer input outside tcp 10.1.1.253 12345 69.147.125.65 80 detailed

We have SSL VPN using the AnyConnect client going to an ASA5540.
Is there a way to permit users to access their own LAN, but still force them to use the VPN tunnel for Internet access?
If I'm reading the documentation correctly, it seems that when you activate split tunnelling, it allow LAN access, but will also allow the user to access the Internet over the LAN instead of over the VPN.

I've got my AnyConnect setup to get an IP from our Windows DHCP server just fine. It grabs the IP, mask, and DNS just fine. But I can't ping any of the lan devices or do any DNS lookups. I need it to work this way since we have a ton of site-to-site's with remote offices and getting them all to adjust their firewalls to allow another subnet is a nightmare.
I have split-tunneling enabled. I'm sure it's a nonat command that I'm missing, but not sure what.
Before connecting to VPN:
Home user-------------------> ASA 5510 --------------> Office Lan
192.168.1.0/24 10.10.1.1/24
After they connect to AnyConnect
Home user-------------------> ASA 5510 --------------> Office Lan
192.168.1.0/24 10.10.1.1/24
10.10.1.45/24

We have configured a Cisco ASA 5505 with AnyConnect access. This works great. However, these users cannot seem to ping devices on the private network. We have configured all devices on the network with a 10.10.10.0/24 address space. The inside interface of the ASA i 10.10.10.1/24 and the VPN return addresses are 10.10.10.50 - 10.10.10.65/24.They users can utilize SSH and Oracle or MySQL calls but cannot seem to ping. Obviously, I am over looking something.

I have a weird problem which I have already submitted a TAC ticket about. When users authenticate through AnyConnect into our HQ ASA 5510 they grab an address from 172.16.254.x. What we have been noticing intermittently is that when logged into our network through the client they are unable to access their resources at one of our remote offices which is connected over l2l to the HQ ASA. This problem just started randomly a week ago and we have been working with Cisco trying to create a solution.
My quick fix is logging into a device at the remote office which is trying to be accessed and pinging the gateway of the virtual subnet for AnyConnect users. When I ping 172.16.254.1 it goes through after a few dropped icmp packets and then the issue is resolved for about 8 hours or so.

we have two ASA 5510s one in 8.4(4) and one in 8.2(5) in a site-to-site VPN setup. All internal traffic is working smoothly.Site/Subnet A: 192.160.0.0 - local (8.4(4)) Site/Subnet B: 192.260.0.0 - remote (8.2(5)) VPN Users: 192.160.40.0 - assigned by ASA When you VPN into the network, all traffic hits Site A, and everything on subnet A is accessible.
Site B however, is completely inaccessible for VPN users. All machines on subnet B, the firewall itself, etc... is not reachable by ping or otherwise. There are also some weird NAT rules that I am not happy with that were created after I upgraded Site A ASA to 8.4
Site A internal: 192.160.x.x External: 55.55.555.201(main)/202(mail)
Site B (over site-to-site) is 192.260.x.x External: 66.66.666.54(all)
I pretty much just have the basic NAT rules for VPN, Email, Internet and the site-to-site.What do I need to add for the VPN to be able to access the site-to-site network?
Here is my NAT config:
nat (inside,Outside) source static DOMAIN_LOCAL DOMAIN_LOCAL destination static VPN_Network VPN_Network no-proxy-arp route-lookup
nat (inside,Outside) source static DOMAIN_LOCAL DOMAIN_LOCAL destination static DOMAIN_REMOTE DOMAIN_REMOTE no-proxy-arp route-lookup

nat (DMZ,Outside) dynamic interface
object network DOMAIN_LOCAL

Recently I used the wizard to create an IPsec site-to-site connection, which went very smoothly; however, I now noticed that when I connect via Anyconnect 2.5.0217 I cannot get to local and subnatted resources on the network.
I rolled back to saved config file, which was taken before the site-to-site vpn was created, but that did not work as well. What should I check to see why I can no longer get to different subnets after the site-to-site vpn connection.

Whenver I try to establish a tunnel on SDM_CMAP_2 and run a test using CCP, I get 2 failure reasons:
1. The peer must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following peer(s) are routed through non-crypto map interface - 4.58.130.130
2. The tunnel traffic destination must be routed through the crypto map interface. The following destinations are routed through non-crypto map interface - 4.58.130.134
The tunnels on SDM_CMAP_1 are all active Do I need to include a default route for the second ISP on the router? If so, how do I get this done? When I tried it, I had loops on the user LAN segment of the network.
